Creating Pattern Using Stencils and Colored Slips

- In this video, I demonstrate how to transfer slip onto newspaper using stencils and colored slips. This technique allows you to create colorful patterns that you can cut into different shapes and transfer onto your clay forms, much like applying a temporary tattoo. This technique is a great way to add pattern and color to your clay forms before the bisque firing.
I would love your recipes. Thank you!
Can you show the finish product after firing in the videos, would like to see how it turned out. I am going to try this process on future work

Well done✅
If your design has dried too far could you spray it with water to rehydrate it?
Hello Jeremy,
You can certainly try that, but because the clay is so thin it will usually start to crack and disintegrate as you add water. Also, you may find that if you do get it to adhere to your form, as the clay form starts to dry the slipped stencil design may be more likely to crack off before or even after the bisque firing. I hope this helps!
Would love slip recipe olease
You make it look so easy!
