Assuming empower cap and both weapons have trenchent crits, serenity has +23% damage on trenchent strkes vs +15% base damage from inferno, meaning serenity only does 8% more damage with heavy attacks, and does 15% less damage with everything else vs an inferno gs. now the inferno gs also has 2 free perks to pick from where serenity does not (3rd perk being refreshing move). Let's say we have rogue and penetrating backstab. Now the inferno gs is doing significantly more damage with everything. Sorry if that wasn't made too clear in the video!
@ i love theory crafting the math is this game… but u wont get bigger damage numbers than serenity on a heavy attacks in practice. it’s simply better in game than on paper (you also cant put pvp backstab on either of there weapons, if it could go on gs you might be correct). single hit high damage is significantly more important in NW than most ppl realize. the strength of healing in NW leads high damage single hit bursts to be extremely effective in surprise killing before healers can react or self healing cast. serenity id absolutely best great sword no doubt about it but v cool build
@@KristoferESOI didn’t think that inferno did made both weapons do more damage, I can hit 5k heavies with my slice greatsword, crit chance armor pen, and trenchant heavies
So watching your play, you have wild sustain on those self heals. Looking at all your gear, almost all of that appears to primarily be from dodging procing self heals, + 10% from divine. Thats nuts man. I’ve been trying to make my great sword PvP set give bigger and better heals, but I had no clue you could so effectively do so without using the final skill on the defensive side of the greatsword tree. I definitely agree on melee nerf they did. I feel like I'm just missing slot of attacks I would normally hit. I get freedom and heart tune etc to escape but damn it be crazy at times lol
Nothing better than seeing a unique pvp build. I've come to identify your channel as a melee Inferno dps player. Hopefully you stick with the weapon and show ppl it's true strength
I just got the serenity in the pvp track and it works great with a hatchet. But before that i was a greatsword/inferno player. Which is awesome just wish the inferno hit a little harder. Fire balls only do like 2k and on the int version they hit 5k.
from my tests i have found that 150 int is still kinda mandatory to have inferno do decent damage, especially with the dots. and then using an int gem (like void) in the melee weapon with a ring that increases that element's damage gives you the best damage on inferno without losing too much on your melee weapon
@@MartinHjelm-f8c i wouldn't do fire damage, since people build against fire damage, so you will get more out of void or ice or lightning, since those are usually damage types people don't build resistances for.
So I tried this out too and yes this makes inferno MUCH better, but you really kill the gs damage by investing 150 points into something it can't scale from even with the gem... I'm gonna stick to favoring the gs for now
@@KristoferESO really? that's weird. on SnS i got like 90% of my original damage back with a void gem and a void damage ring, and i think i had like 1 void harnessing piece too.
As someone who’s always ran GS with ignited ruby & fire harnessing on everything. getting back into the game and seeing this build is awesome. thank you for sharing. gonna be grinding this out since i don’t have serenity yet 😅 Do you think this build would do well with bouldershard GS?
Idk still feels good to me. And the grace perk works on certain activations. But yes it is bugged and half the time it doesn’t give you haste bonus. Still with the right build works really well, especially in this ranged meta where you can 2-3 tap people
Literally everyone specs into slash and fire protection. Despite how much I love this combo, it's a 50/50 to go against someone who has 30% or more resist/conditioning in both
@kristofer have you tried FS/Abyss? the firestaff does so much more damage and the GA if full void. so you can stack up to 30% void dmg boost if you want. seen heavys on the GS his for 6k ish but with full damage from FS to go with it.
Yeah man that build is crazy good and fun! I have played it a bit this season but mostly a year ago. I'm pretty sure you could get 11k executes on that bad boy.
@KristoferESO hm i am now trying to pick between keenly jagged, attunement, trenched strikes and keenly jagged, attunement, keen dunno what would do most dmg in pvp
Yeah id give up the stacking empower if it meant u get to keep double trenchant, my first heavy on lights does 6.2-8k, thats before any empower stacking
I'lll never understand why Bow and Musket players stop at the outer gate at Mid. They don't understand how much better it would be to be up on the rafters inside the fort.

Yes, I main it now. It’s insanely fun chasing players down with all the haste and hits like a truck. Got my first 30 kill opr with it and now consistently get 10-20 kills a game with it. Add the relentless freedom weapon perks to the boots to go through ice walls as well. It’s a blast.
Rapier easy counter with axe you just boop them they die instantly ik i was kne of them rapier mains i not using hatchet and greatsword ( hatchet for movement )
Serenity is so good not because of the empower but the illegal perk combo of trenchant strikes and trenchant Crits.

Subscribed cause infernal for me is elite and I’m using this to Strength build
Was 350 Int with an Int gem in the GS not worth it?
Nice video!
No it's not great the gs damage plummets hard... so it can work but you take a big damage cut.
I’ve found success using a GS with Distained infliction rather than using Serenity.
Is the Woodgrain GS your perfered GS or just the best one you had on you at the time of this video?
Just the best one i have at the moment!

How old can the clips be? I have some real good ones from open beta and also a year ago. And how long should they be?
A great fight is a great fight i can't discriminate by age! Honestly anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 mins is acceptable if the clip is right
Pvp is a whole new animal haha. I can't wait to get to level 65
I’m only level 23 I think. Seems so far to go. Not much PvP being done low level
In 78 level PvP ride and I don’t have the Serenity
is shirking nature on GS good? I mean is the damge noticable? I guess it does normal damage +the one from shirking nature ?
Just the perk I have at the moment, I'm leaning towards trenchent crits and keenly jagged right now for my gs

Try grace out with trenchant and then winged leather shoes for the 10% base damage and extended haste. You are so fast and hit like a truck.
Does inferno work for both weapons or just FS?
Both
