This is a paper blender (Estompen). You can find it in craft stores or online. As an alternative, you can use a Tortillion.

The best paper is the Fabriano paper the original Zentangle tiles are made of. But in this video I have Bristol paper which works well, too.

It is the Micron Fineliner from Sakura - size 01 is good for most situations!

Hi Smita,
you need good fineliners - there are many good pens out there. Here I use Microns from Sakura, but Tombow, Pentel and several other brands have good fineliners as well. I love the thinner ones, but 01 is a good start. Then you need paper: either use Bristol paper (which you can cut into smaller pieces) or you buy original Zentangle tiles. This is rather rough Fabriano paper - you can find more information about this material on zentangle.com
For shading, I use an HB pencil and a paper blender (estompen or tortillion, google it!).

A fineliner on rough paper makes it easier, I think. The rest comes from practice... and having something parallel to guide the eye!
