Call things what you like. It's your video! Mislabling things as ephemera or embellishments, is insignificant. It's your creativity that people want to see, not what you call things. Great video and instructions!
first time seeing you and LOVE your style, your commentary, your laugh, your techniques and ideas. I liked right away and then subscribed, too. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent.
I’ve just began watching you over the last couple of days. I am obsessed with your teaching style. You are so well spoken and technical, which appeals to my engineer side. I’m so glad I found you. Thank you for sharing your craft with us.
Thanks, Sharon. That’s so funny. When I think of a gusseted pocket I think of one with an actual gusset between the attachment and the front of the pocket. Where the folded attachment is scored and an additional score is made to give depth tot he pocket. I think of a folded edge pocket as one where it’s simply attached with a folded edge. I find the differences in how we label these things so interesting, lol! I love having these discussions to share and learn from and with each other. Thank you. ((hugs)) ✨✨✨
Thank you Caroline for all your great tips, I had forgot about my setting tools that I have and have not used...pulled them out to remind me. Love this Folio ❤️❤️❤️
Yay!!! I’m so happy you like them, Shelley. Thank YOU for your kind encouragement. I really appreciate it. Hope you are having a great weekend. ((hugs)) ✨🌻✨🌻✨

Thanks SO much, Christy!!! I think that’s what I love about papercrafting…it’s a lifelong journey in honing skills. ✨☺️✨ I hope you are having a beautiful day, dear friend. ((hugs)) ✨🌻✨🌻✨
Hi I'm your new subby and I love your projects I seen my 1st one of you last night, I'm not that good at measuring the 8ths of things but I am learning 😊 Love your laughter it makes me smile. Please share your friends channel would love to meet her to❤❤
I would say that ephemera is typically old letters, receipts, stamps, pressed flowers, tickets, etc. something related to a memory. Ephemera can be an embellishment or part of the background or made into a pocket. Embellishments are anything you use to enhance your item. Ephemera, sequins, beads, twine/ribbon, dimensional drops, glitter, etc. However, both terms are typically use interchangeable.
I would agree…they seem to be used interchangeably these days. There are so many new products labeled “ephemera”…some are even made to look old, lol! Thanks for chiming in! I love hearing everyone’s perspectives. Hope you are having a great day! ((hugs)) ✨✨✨
It might even be easier to remember ephemera can be embellishments, but not all embellishments are ephemera. Great explanation, I came to the comments just to see if anyone had answered it for her.
Hi Caroline! I'm a newbie to your channel, and I have binged several tutorials already, just getting notes, and trying a few here and there. While watching this video this evening you mention helping each other with the names of items, so, can you explain difference in a groment and an eyelet? As you have time, no rush. Thank you ♡♡
Hi, Cami! It’s so nice to meet you. I’ve always thought of grommets as being metal and eyelets as being a stitch on fabric, but I honestly don’t know. I’ve seen so many crafters refer to them interchangeably. This is a question I asked in one of my videos and I believe one person thought grommets used washers and eyelets didn’t??? I honestly am not 100% sure. 🤷🏻♀️
@@CraftingCreatingWithCaroline Thank you so much for taking time to Answer. I have an invisible bucket of things I'll probably never figure out, lol. For example. What's the diverts in uptown and downtown, and does it vary from city to city, or sections of a city in a bigger cities?? Like chicago for example has Chinatown, and Indian Mecxican sections, etc... The world may never know. Ha ha. Thank you for sharing your awesome talent, so cheerfully, and explaining things to us, down to earth for crafters of any level. Have a great weekend. God bless ♡♡
Thanks, Sherry! No, It’s one I’ve had for years. And it is really comfy! I wish I knew how to knit…I think it would be a comfy hobby, too! ((hugs)) ✨✨✨
Just a tip to anyone who is planning to work along with the video- there are are majors errors that were not corrected/ redone or edited so that these could be prevented. I would highly advise cutting everything out but do not glue anything down until the end. There are so many people that don’t have a lot or may just be starting out like you are. A good teacher would avoid her students making the same mistakes and then knowingly leave it in the video and just letting it happen. Even a quick voiceover letting people know to wait. It’s frustrating to see someone invest 2 hours of their time to have these things happen. Please take this as positive criticism. However, at the end of it all, your folio came out beautifully. I hope you have a great weekend 😊 Peace & Love 🌻
I appreciate your feedback, but… 1) I DID do a voiceover to notify my viewers of the upcoming error. 2) There is a SINGLE error, not major errors (plural.) and 3) I kept the correction of that error in the video because sooooo many viewers have expressed deep gratitude when I show not only how to do something correctly, but how to correct something when mistakes happen. You are entitled to your opinions, but I would appreciate it if you remained accurate in your assessments. I have received dozens and dozens of heartfelt messages from viewers thanking me for being “real” and helping them to learn that mistakes happen and can be fixed. Please remember that a little kindness goes a long way. So, let’s be kind to ourselves AND others. ✨
The voice over notification of the SINGLE error is clearly mentioned along with a bell sound effect for an added attempt to alert the viewer at 40:14 😉
AND…a preliminary voice over notification giving the viewer an ADDITIONAL heads up with bell sound effect is here 33:03 BOTH were added to alert my viewers to the SINGLE error I made in constructing this folio. Hope that helps. ✨

Love your style. You are a very good teacher. I would calf the pocket with the folded edge a gusseted pocket.
Thanks, Sharon.
