I feel like they can go either way; had instances I didn’t include because the kills took about 8 passes each and saw a Hind and Frogfoot both tank half my ammo each. I was amazed how quickly the Frog got deconstructed in this clip by comparison, and MiG-19s seem to be made of paper despite having the most thicc wings ever. On the whole I think I still have better luck with the F-5’s 20mms but I think part of that is because they’re LESS accurate 😅
@@Bullet4MyEnemy I'm used to being on the receiving end of those, and it seems all it takes is one hit to any part of my MiG-21 and I've lost the fight. Although if an f86 gets into a shooting position on you the fights over anyways.

Man imagine a Hawker Hunter. 😍 The Sabre is awesome, but the Hunter would be insane. Quad 30mm cannons with a combined RPM higher than that of the A-10. And the Hunter was an excellent dogfighter, but compared to aircraft like the Mirage F1 and MiG-21, it’s slow, so it would be very interesting.
@@thefreestyler25.warthunder The 20mm Sabre has less ammo, but the Sabre’s 50s in DCS hit about as hard as the F-5’s 20mm cannons do. So if we did get the cannon Sabre I think it would probably hit similarly but have less ammo, basically a downgrade. DCS’s weakest point for multiplayer is managing damage dished out against damage dealt, often the two don’t seem to correlate as you’d expect them to, or it’s inconsistent - like how the MiG-15’s 37mm can hit a Sabre 4 times for little visible damage, but .50s can literally disintegrate a gigantic helicopter. Not a lot of logic going on.
Your comment reminds me of one of Enigma's videos where he talks about standardization among modules. I mean, personally, I like the 50 cals slap like they do, but it's probably not historical. I've watched interviews on UA-cam where sabre pilots would nearly use all their ammo just to down one MiG

It would be a day one buy, MiG-17 is coming eventually which is probably as close as we’ll get.
