If that is a game-changer there wasn't much of a game there to begin with. Oh right ...

@@ImPappy Right, because POE2 is so much like POE and totally not just a regression across the board to capture the D4 playerbase. That statement makes total sense, my dude.

@@va_str well you gotta think, it's still in early access right? Half the weapons/skills/classes aren't even in the game yet! They said withing 6-12 months they wanna release the full game. And also just a bit of banter with the d4 player comment

@@ImPappy Yea, but then I also gotta think that they've been working on this for nearly a decade and many of the decisions reintroduce issues that POE1 fixed. Stuff like instant off-screen DD for example, or the overload of lingering on-death effects without colour contrast against the ground.
And then there's the issue that all of the systems have been dumbed down from their POE1 versions. Stuff like skill levels you can't de-level for example, you can't even open the skill window without using a skill gem. Crafting is essentially non-existant safe for some omen/essence combos. Skills being severely limited to weapon types. Much less inter-class mobility on the passive tree, and the list goes on. Maybe some of those will change in the future, but you'd have to wonder why they haven't learned that from the 15 years in POE1. It isn't a brand new game, after all.
A lot of these are design decisions, which I feel are the opposite of what made POE1 great. Wardloop in POE1 feels like a complex build based on mechanical interactions. POE2 doesn't even have that complexity, and the few interactions that cause trigger chains now feel like they're unintended and lined up for the chopping block after they immediately disabled the SRS instability loop. The entire game feels much more like they've designed it towards fairly basic intended playstyles, instead of the open sandbox that's the way of POE1. And that was always the big distinction between POE and Diablo.
Don't know if you can tell, but I'm pretty disappointed with POE2, especially now with what's almost a bait and switch and dead silence on the future of POE1 after a 6 month league, it doesn't feel great man ...
