How to use Timesheets in Xero

Timesheets can be a good way to streamline the payroll process but removing the need for external systems and outdated timesheet methods.
You can give employees a limited access login so that that can process their own timesheets in xero. The payroll manager can then approve the timesheet submissions before they flow through to the next stage of the pay run.
Timesheets can save you time and hassle and reduce the chance of error from reduced double handling. It can make your payroll a little bit less painful.

Thanks for the info. It just confirmed that Xero timesheet is no good for us😅. Being in building industry, we have different rules for site and offsite workers regarding RDO, overtime and allowances. What we are asking for is too complicated for Xero. In fact we had to disable to link between our job management system and Xero timesheet as it is just, sh*t data in. We have no choice but to build a spreadsheet with formulas then punch in Xero😂

Hi Nelson, it's not a requirement that historic timesheets be entered so long as you enter your opening balances into Xero. But if you really wanted to re-enter everything week by week then you'd have to set the payroll calendar start date from the beginning of where you want to start entering from.
