Longtime DM fan here. This is one of the few covers that I like. Does honor to the original, but brings your own elements into it and fits them in well. You should be proud!
Wow, this is probably the best cover I've ever heard on UA-cam! The mix is absolutely perfect. Well done, I hope you do more Depeche Mode tracks in the future, and not so much Radiohead lol.
This is a phenomenal cover! As usual you do not disappoint good sir. Big fan of both Radiohead and Depeche Mode here, so was happy to see this pop up. Thank you!
Very unusual, very rare of you Guys. Since I have been love with DM along with Radiohead for ages (DM: 32, RH 25 years) I especially enjoy the silence you broke with this magnificient cover. Thank you! Take care Folks!
SO many requests come to mind, but I'd love to see you do West End Girls (Pet Shop Boys), Don't Dream It's Over (Crowded House), and How Soon Is Now (The Smiths).
Big DM fan here was recommended your video through Google News. Beautifully done, you take great care on providing an authentic cover of a most beloved song and band. Beautiful!
man it baffles me how you always manage to get synth sounds so close to the original , i've been a guitarist for 2 years now and only since this quarantine stepped into the world of midi and vsts and stuff and i have no idea how to go about even beginning to recreate the classic synth sounds i like. Do you have any tips for how you find/research for these covers ?
thehartkrusher thanks! Besides the couple of Radiohead/Prophet Rev2 specific tutorials I’ve done that someone linked in these replies (which also contain my understanding of some basic synth principles) - I just do a lot of digging and searching through UA-cam, interviews, forums to find a place to start on what type of synth to use and sometimes other folks versions of presets (like in this case Reverb.com did a video on the song which is linked in the description). But sometimes it’s helpful to just listen really closely and try to understand the building blocks of the sounds. The envelope is usually the easiest to hear - is it a short staccato sound or one that swells in/fades out? From there the trick is in hearing different filters - the classic thickness and squelch of a Moog-style mono synth, or the kind of smooth and airy Prophet style filter? With practice you’ll start finding you can get pretty close, even on a number of different synths.
Jesper Diercks the Synclavier setting was either “Choir 1” or “Voices 1” something like that, the mellotron layer is the classic Mixed Choir I believe!

What the hell? This is Map of the Problematique by MUSE
Kevin Grabb 😝 yep, the influence is definitely there! The pulsing of Matt’s whammy sequence vs the bass of this is one part of it.
You should do Age of Consent by New Order
brother i love your covers you could do one of not even jail from interpol (perdon por mi ingles hablo español xdd)
the name of your guitar plz
Epiphone Casino!
how did you do the drums?
I used a MIDI template from Reverb’s “Synth Sounds” video! I forget which sound engine I used though 🤔

What is that choir preset on the synclavier/mellotron?

FAN FAN FAN FAN!
You're good, but this song absolutely needs a baritone. Love your covers of How Soon Is Now and Blue Monday, though.
Depeche mode the very best and you😂😂😂😂😂👎👎👎👎
Fantastic
