Jake is such a good choice for a role like this because of how believable he is in both possible truths.
So. Guilty or innocent??
🤣
Are you just rewording the comment above yours?
@@b-dub6865 Who cares if they are?
As perfect as casting can get
Looking at a person like Jake Gyllenhaal, u really cant tell if he killed someone or not
hmmm tell us more about that
He's an artist.
@@beatrizdebia well i first thought he is so innocent and he would never kill anyone but he did a great role in nightcrawler and looked like someone who would most definetly kill someone so its kinda hard to tell looking to his face if hes innocent or not
😂
@@hassanfiaz4288 "a face" does not say if a person is innocent or not.
I watched the whole thing today..... as a lawyer myself I felt for the story instantly....but the performance of the actors...the screenplay....the atmosphere created, this was far ahead of every series I have ever seen. Absolutely amazing. Can't recommend this series enough.
Can you recommend more movies like this
I really liked the oj simpson one on netflix
I just finished it. The last episode blew my mind. Intense!
@@rodneywilliam9729"unbelievable," was good...but infuriating..
Or "take care of maya," but that was a documentary.
"The changeling," is also good.
..but dont google the plot. Its an Eastwood directed movie
And better if you don't know the true story of what it is based on till after.
The classic court movies are worth a watch.
For comedy.."my cousin vinny."
Uh, 2 military court ones.."men of honor," is inspirational.
And "a few good men," is a classic.
"Evil genius,"
And I'm sure since Google has so much AI now, if you just search shows that you like, and search on google, shows that have similar plot to x, or "If I like this show what else would I like?"
"Doubt," is good..no trial..but it has the same feel as the OJ show
@@rodneywilliam9729your honor and defending Jacob

"I did not kill her, I did not .... oh hi Mark !"
ha ha ha what a story Mark
😂😂😂😂
Underrated comment af 💀😂
Was lookimg for this comment xD
Has he killed her or he didn't kill her?
I am a simple guy, I saw Jake Gyllenhaal on thumbnail, I saw the trailer and now I am waiting for this
😂😂😂 had the same thoughts. I enjoy his work
This was a favorite in the 90s. Originally acted by Harrison Ford and Bonnie Bedelia. Do yourself a favor and don’t spoil the ending by going to watch the original, but once you see this one, do yourselves a favor and watch the original. Really, REALLY good movie.
Maybe read the book first by Scott Turow
Read the book and watch the original. Leave this superfluous remake in the bin.
It's nice seeing the son doing the same role as his father
The trailer, Wikipedia, and IMDb seem to show a few differences from the book and original movie -
Rusty’s son does have a bigger role.
Rusty may not lead the initial investigation, as Tommy (played by Sarsgaard, Gyllenhaal’s frequent co-star and real-life brother-in-law) immediately suspects and prosecutes Rusty.
Sandy, Rusty’s defense lawyer, isn’t even a main character in this one. Too bad because his character was a favorite of fans.
Let’s see what other changes are made. Maybe a new twist?
No skip this one and see the real Harrison Ford one. It is one of his classics.
One of the most underrated actors. Every movie I''ve seen him in was amazing, bro just knows how to bring emotions into a story with his acting.
In this movie I thought he seemed flat and uninteresting. I like all his other movies.
How is he underrated?
Everyone knows He’s top class, what are you on about?
@@minndsmom5948this is TV show, and its not released fully, not movie, what are you talking about? 😂
@@minndsmom5948 well maybe its the character he plays No?
Well most people know who Jake Gyllenhaal is. So you can't say he's underrated. An example of a guy who is underrated would be David Pasquesi. You have probably never heard of him. He's been working in the industry since the late 1980's. He is most famous for his small part in Groundhog Day as Phil's psychiatrist. He has also done of lot of other movies and TV series.
"You were there...the night of." - Bill Camp, actor from The Night Of.
Haha I thought the same thing!
LOVED it, rewatching it now actually, bill camp also played in "american rust", great actor
yess!!!
I was wondering if this was like a spinoff of the night of...cuz that show was amazing.
@@zacharyeisenberg4565 yes it was… I was in the middle of rewatching it and saw this trailer, btw if you wait for thanksgiving you can get HBO for like 2.99 per month for a year, with ads, but hey better ads than paying like $15 for the ad free, their ads are short anyway, I do it every year with Hulu and HBO their Black Friday sale you just make a new email every year to get that discount

But once it does it’s on
I can’t turn away ….
Until episode 3 comes out of

Please share some recommendations like this one!
I love that the Jake is working with his brother in law Peter Sarsgaard
Jake getting his script with ALL the lines he has to say on the show :
*I DID NOT KILL HER*
Tommy Wiseau has stolen from all of Hollywood the ability to believably say that line
I always look forward to any script picked up by Jake Gyllenhaal.
Watched the 1st two episodes, and am completely engrossed. Script is tight and to the point.
Great show!
Yes, he's really particular about well-written screenplays, and unique stories, so you know it will be a great movie.
I just binged the whole season today. After episode 1, I was instantly hooked. Captivating storyline, phenomenal acting, especially by Jake Gyllenhaal. That man can act his butt off! I can't recommend this series enough, 5 star👌🏾
Pleeeeeease release all episodes at once, and not weekly! 😭😭
Yeah I hope cause now I'm really intrested in apple tv+. Well see what they do.
The first two will drop, and then it is weekly. I looked up the episode guide.

No binge for you!
@@ozzibearyea same here do a week trail now looks good Jake a great actor 😊
It’s like “The night of” with the same cop from “The Night of” 😂😂
and that same guy literally says "the night of" in this trailer! lol

This is a remake of the 1990 Harrison Ford movie, that itself was an adaptation of the book from a handful of years before that lol
I assume then that if this is successful it will also have the sequels in play…maybe lol
@@MrTGritz perfect, just what we needed, another remake of a film nobody particularly remembers with the same plot as countless others :)
‘The night of’ was soooo good
Best season of any tv show in the last 10 years

I came straight to the comments to make sure I was not the only one 😂
@@EastandWestify it’s impossible not to hear it lol Tommy has corrupted all of our minds forever
I wonder how many people on here realize this was a movie with Harrison Ford back in the 80s.
Its actually a 90s movie and most films, tv shows are based off something from the past.
@eradicatedpulse6896 came out in 1990, that makes it more or less an 80s film.
Still doesn't change the fact that most people here likely don't know it's a Harrison Ford flick.
@@shreder75 It's like saying fight club and the matrix are 2000's movies when they both released in 1999 they're still 90s movies. Also most people here are young audiences and not in their 40s or 50s to remember just like most people don't know Mission Impossible was a tv show prior to being a movie franchise.
@@eradicatedpulse6896 no. It's not like that at all, actually.
Right, making what I said true. Thanks for confirming my point!
No one is talking about the book that it’s based on by Scott Turow
the main theme of the original movie is such a childhood core memory, as is the twist of course.
They better not change it 😫
Jake is great! Hope him and Denzel can be in a film together with a classic high level film together.
They're starring in a theatre production of Othello together.
Ford and Dennehy were magic in the OG.
Bonnie Bedelia, Greta Scachi, Raul Julia, Brian Dennehy they all nailed their parts.
First two episodes so far have been incredible.
💯
So riveting. I feel so invested. I care about Rusty already. Jake's brilliant.
I always remember that comedian saying..."the wife did it."
Hope there is no nonsense alien twist in this like 'Sugar', that could have been a great detective show
HE DID NOT KILL HER
Well I Hope they didn't change the ending like the did in the 1991 version
STOP IT. They changed that part...
But he was cheating on wife .
The wife did it.
In the book She doesn't confess like she did in the 1991 movie he figures it out from the evidence left in the tool shed after she leaves him after the trial
Well I’m bout to roll up like 7 blunts and binge this 😂
Outstanding. Brilliant script, acting, editing, brilliant everything. The ending, blew my mind. Did NOT expect this.
Super excited for this show! I adore Jake Gyllenhaal, so it's awesome that AppleTV+ was able to bring him into an interesting project like this.
Jake is best at playing such character which are emotionally vulnerable
I like Apple TV. Hasn’t got the largest catalogue but it’s been pumping out some real good high production shows.
I like the way he says, 'I only lied about the affair!'
If Jake gyllenhall stared in the film, I definitely see it!
*”This is Chicago. There are so many wonderfully heinous people for you to go after.”*
If he's not using an iPhone, he's guilty. 😂
From the second episode I figured out correctly who killed her! This was a good series. The executive producer who also stars in this was smart in how this series unfolded. I give credit to the writers too.
Best ending in history. What a twist.
4 Episodes in - casting and delivery is superb.
I love me some Jake Gyllenhaal! I watch almost every movie he plays in. He is an excellent actor and also very handsome to me😍
very handsome to all women 😂😂😂
The way it kept showing the words "I did not do it - Guilty" on the screen mde me really want to watch this.
😂
Is nobody going to mention his brother-in-law, Mr. Peter Sarsgaard...this should be good.😌
Jake Gyllenhaal???
YESSS Sirr!!!🫡

This was the best series I’ve watched in a long time. I’m flabbergasted by the directing, acting, and TWISSTSSSSS OMGGG!!! So addicting and couldn’t recommend it enough 🎉

I thought Raul Julia was brilliant in the 1990 version, he was the lawyer we all want

Apple TV is seriously killing it 🔥 “Dark Matter” and now this…yep im renewing my subscription
Dark Matter is kinda bad... I'm watching but it's one of my guilty sci-fi pleasures. But they have some great shows like Slow Horses, Severance and Pachinko
@@empireoflightzepisode 4 of dark matter is amazing
Apple TV is offering 2 month Free trials right now on their site. It'll last you thru all 8 episodes of Presumed.
i dont like dark matter for some reason. boring and feels very generic.
Severance is a masterpiece
Ok, this trailer is awesome. I will be watching this.
Jake Gyllenhaal, I've watched him in almost everything since the days of Donnie Darko.
He's one of the talented actors of his generation. Up there with Ryan Gosling.
He's in an an amazing Prada Luna Rossa campaign.
All class and very sleek.
The Staircase all over, with a similarly inscrutable lead. Intrigued to see how this pans out, but honestly it's beside the point. It's Jake Gyllenhaal 🤷💯💙
People accodentally self reporting on their implicit biases in the commments will never not be funny
Jake Gyllenhaal , Ryan Gosling and Channing Tatum
They're all looking more handsome as they grow older....some guys look more handsome and attractive as they grow older
Gyllenhaal is a great actor since Broke back Mountain. And he really has this very expressive eyes and well defined facial features in his acting armory. I'd watch him up close over and over.
June is stacked and I'm all up for it !!
Yes
There is a classic period of Harrison Ford, and that is the ‘80s. From Raiders, Blade Runner, and Empire Strikes Back which were all released in 1980 to 1989 when Last Crusade was released. In this decade there were the excellent Harrison Ford movies, including Witness and Presumed innocent. Don’t watch this Jake Gyllenhaall one. You will be doing yourself a favor.
Yes... Another DEI Shitshow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to this, Gyllenhaal is a great dramatic actor
Looks very generic, but it’s a got a lot of big names behind it, so I’m interested!
Excellent Jake as always! 🔥
I knew I love Jake Gyllenhaal but Maan this was Next Level:
I love him, then I hate him, suspect him then believe him, hate him, mood swings, love him back.
Just how they got us on our tiptoes all the time?
A masterpiece 🙌🏻
Best leading actor in a limited series coming soon 🔜
So Swofford and Troy both became public prosecutors after the Gulf War. It's nice to see the 2 friends sticking so close together.
I just binged watched the whole series and this was truly one of the best series I have ever watched. The ending was crazy! Jake obviously made it that extra bit special. 100% worth a watch and hope they don’t make a 2nd series and ruin it like everything else
Excited, waiting for its release. It's going to be so much fun.
O-T character is the best!
Anyone here after watching the season finale ?

Is it me alone or just that Jake has one of those poker faces you just can't put a finger on? Did he do it or is he innocent? Just the right man for the show. Man that's some show and am on it!

This is by far one of the best shows I've ever seen. They did a beautiful job of showing you all perspectives in a neutral light. The acting was brilliant. Absolutely incredible. A+++ guys!!!!
Watch the original movie with Harrison Ford circa 1990. Amazing flick!! Looking forward to a remake "of sorts". 🙂
Now that it's over you can see the clues were there. She said no one was going to take her family.
I did not kill her…I did not…oh, Hi mark!!!
I’ve never seen it but my money says the wife did it. His pillow talk gave wifey the details about the case Jake and the dead girl worked together and the wife found out Jake was cheating with her. If I’m wrong that’s fine but I’d be stepping into the wife hard
Glued to the tv while watching..fantastic acting bringing

Good acting ,brilliant courtroom drama ,but 2 episodes too long. Too many dreaming, slow parts
Jake has that face like he killed her and he didn't kill her in the same time.
Those that read the book and/or saw the original movie with Harrison Ford already know who killed her.
Totally blown away by this thriller. Apple is hitting it out of the park with this one. 👍
The trailer editors are having fun 😂 they think they're slick by editing it with Bill Camp saying "You were there, The Night Of" that's a HBO limited series that he also starred in as a detective trying to figure out whether Riz Ahmed's character killed a woman he got involved with. The Night Of is a must-watch series, phenomenal show. It also stars the late, great Michael Kenneth Williams and John Turturro
He's a pretty known actor and is probably an important character, tje editors might be somewhat innocent of that. The writers are to blame.
@christofferjenzen78 Oh, I know! Bill Camp is a phenomenal actor, love him in everything he does 🔥 oh, this isn't innocent it was definitely a cheeky nod from the editors and the writers 100% knew what they were doing, the editors just highlighted it 😂 I'm surprised Apple signed off on it though
