I live what you do. Keep it up. I love Nate as well. On an aside, editing is important but it also comes down to the type of editing that works in the Sports Card niche (since each niche is different for sure). It is more content and timing. I love hearing you deep diving into how to make the content etc. Well done. I respect the heck out of that. Since you are focusing on editing, you might want to check 16:02-16:30. I think you double dipped it. You can do a quick cut in the YT dashboard if it bothers you. Just trying to help.
Congratulations on 2000 subs. Thank you for the transparency/thoughts on this video. For me, it's about me enjoying what I am doing and not about how many subs I have. If I am not having fun, then I wouldn't do it so having fun is the priority here for me. May I ask, what camera do you use?
Victor, congratulations on 2k sub in 4 years. It’s really quite impressive! I think if you, the creator, enjoy what you’re producing it’s all worth it and whoever wants to come for the ride is welcome! I’m at 320 subs after one year - and I have to say I’m shocked that many people bothered to click the button! I find that constant response to comments and leaving comments on other people’s videos is super useful and fulfilling. Congrats again… I’m going to go watch the Sammy video now!
Congrats on achieving 2000 subs! I'm sure it has been a long journey. I started my channel about a week after you. My first videos had nothing to do with what I am doing now. Try transitioning from movie themed music videos to cooking to DIY to unboxing videos to finally finding my niche of making history videos about stores, places and malls. One has nothing to do with the other. I watched all of those how to channels about making better UA-cam videos but in the end, I learned that building your channel consists of interacting with your subs as well as responding to everyone's comments, engaging with them whether it is positive or negative, and just being yourself. You and I are doing different things but while you are in front of the camera, I am behind the camera and no one would ever recognize me off the street, maybe my voice. That's fine. I never delete my past videos even if it makes me cringe because it marks a period on my channel. We are our own worst critics and sometimes I go back and watch my old videos (even though you can get de monetized if you do that) and see how i can make it better. Consistency is the key. I only release videos on certain days of the week. 3 times a week. People come to expect that and wait for them to post. Instead of changing my UA-cam channel name, I would branch off and create other channels. Each channel would have a different niche of some other passion or interest that i had. Now I have 5 channels and collectively made almost 1400 videos overall. As long as you are having fun, your channel will grow. You can monitor your analytics (and don't get me wrong, I have been keeping track daily for 4 years) but is the not the end all thing. Keep up the good work. Just make videos that you would want to watch yourself. You don't have to be an exact copy of similar channels, put your spin on it, make your videos that separate yours from the rest. Another sports card blogger is that Justin Gamble Gamble, he does sports cards blogs and makes it fun (even though I don't always agree with that type of lifestyle and vast amounts of money he spends) it is just somebody's take on the sports card industry.
@@true_rcs No worries. I enjoy talking to fellow creators and like talking shop. I also have a channel that focuses on vintage baseball cards and my journey getting back into the hobby. ua-cam.com/channels/M1yB263tq9X3YcLDEiRw7g.html
Just found your channel. Great video. In respect to the Sammy Sosa issue you were talking about, it may have to do with the steroid era. Sammy and other players were a stain on the sport at the time and a lot of people, like me, have no interest in their cards. There are many other players that were from that era that deserve my collection goals.
I don’t make UA-cam videos so I truly don’t know but what I am taking from this video that instead of Sammy Sosa cards. You should have done an OJ Simpson rookie card video and possibly would have gotten thousands of views depending on title and thumbnail. Cause it would have been fresh and people would have been searching for OJ when he passed away. Correct me if I am wrong but that is what I am taking from what you are saying. (And yes I know OJ is a difficult example because of his past) but I am saying that if someone goes into hall of fame. Maybe that day drop a video on him because he is in public eye. As someone who collects/buys/sells sports cards and from all eras. I noticed that with vintage cards, they sell best when player is in news for some reason or another (sad to say this but death make there prices spike)
Annually I do a “goals for the year” video every January. For 2024 one of them was to sign up for vidiq. I am merely giving an update of what Ive learned so far. More for those who create content. Also, just had a channel birthday and a sub milestone so I wrapped it up into one video.

Well said Mike! Yes, this is one of the strategies that may lead to a successful video. 👍🏼
are you saying your videos are 'taking off? What are you talking about?
