Dear Tribe Member, the benefits and drawbacks of a Conglomerate can only be understood once you dive deep and assess different business segments housed in it. ITC, the grand conglomerate from our stock markets, has been one such enigma among investors for the last 5-6 years. Firstly due to its underperformance for the past 5 years and now because of amazing exuberance in the last 1 year.

3 huge growth potential from cigar business becoze chance of gaining market share from unorganized sector.
4 need to track on gov. tax policy.
5 fmcg business contributtion not attraactive like other co.
6 itc currently trate at nearly mediam p/e multiple i. e. 30 pe. Peak p/e level was 45 in past.

Hi, It is good overview. But by leveraging Cigarette business, ITC can grow FMCG which I think other FMCG does not have. So ITC has greater chance of becoming No.1 in FMCG if you look for 10-20 years.

You won’t believe a couple of days back i was confused between conglomerate and agglomerate like usual. There’s one political company group in my area and they called themselves as an agglomerate group 10 years ago.

Thank you for the worksheet. This formula may not derive the value of the company (Share price) accurately. As the valuation of the company may be affected by many other factors . For example Infy value as per this is Rs.226. But the share price is 1340/-
