Draco forsaking the Malfoy legacy by marrying a muggleborn was a great start, but to make him a tragic figure as both a widow and a loving father was terrific. There was even a point where he genuinely had the moral high ground on Harry regarding the friendship of their sons, and seeing him work with the trio at the end was a satisfying end to his arc.
I didn’t like that. And neither did Rowling. She said he should never have a redemption. I talk about it here: ua-cam.com/video/EPvJYxuYBJ8/v-deo.htmlsi=F2Ok37ZBCaKS5ylG
@ sounds like even Rowling doesn’t realize how good of a job she did at making Draco a sympathetic character and setting him up for a redemption arc. Interestingly I actually really disliked Hermione becoming Minister for Magic, because for however talented and strong she is, she is *not* the sort to schmooze with people or make friends easily. She's honestly not great at interacting with different people in general. From the very first book on, Hermione alienates her peers at school. In the third book, Hermione's so determined to be right about Trelawney that she can't even properly offer comfort to Lavender Brown after her rabbit dies. Unlike Ginny or Harry, Hermione is incredibly judgmental toward Luna, even while being ostracized and bullied herself. In the fifth book, even though it's initially her idea to have Harry teach the others DADA in what would become the D.A., Hermione's nervous talking in front of everyone and she isn't the one who gets everyone on board: Harry does, and honestly, rightfully so. I'm sorry, but I can't see a person like Hermione excelling as a politician, and as much as we wish it wasn't so, that IS what a Minister for Magic has to be. I could very easily see Hermione being the Head of Magical Law Enforcement, maybe Supreme Mugwump of the Wizengamot -- hell, even an advocate for house elf rights and other marginalized groups within the Ministry. But if we're talking the ACTUAL Hermione Granger from the books, rather than the idealized one from the films that scrubbed her of all her flaws, that isn't a person I could see pursuing or being elected to a position like Minister for Magic. Besides this, though, I really like your choices, especially Albus/Scorpius's romance-that-the-writers-are-determined-to-call-a-bromance and the little bit where Ron purposed renewing his and Hermione's vows. I would also like to add one more good thing from this dumpster-fire script, if I may! The scene at the end of the play featuring Hagrid and baby Harry was the one section in its entirety that my similarly Potterhead mother and I thought was a valuable addition to Harry Potter canon. You can even divorce it from the rest of the play and still enjoy it, and it really made us remember how much we've always adored Hagrid.
TBH, I also like that Albus is a Slytherin and how he feels about it. It's been a while since I've read the book, so maybe I remember some things wrong, but to me it makes perfect sense for a teenage boy who is the son of a hero to want to outshine his father and feel bad when he isn't as talented as he is and fails to live up to the expectations set of him. Of course he will be ambitious. Plus Albus and Scorpius being outcasts together really helps evolve their bond
I forgot about most of these because I didn’t want to think they ever happened. Lol. While reading it an Harry yelling at McGonagall about not being a parent. I lost it
*spoilers* for me the funniest and weirdest thing that was revealed in this book/play was that the trolley witch is actually a immortal beign, doomed to push the cart forever (she has even forgotten her name because no one bothers to ask) she also has long nails and stops childeren from going off the train
6:35 I don’t think the scene is at fault here for making some people think they were gay. There is a majority chance that the people who would say something like that doesn’t know what a true friendship looks like and they can only see their real-life friends as utilitarian to them.
I mean the recent script has been rewritten to make Albus and Scorpius's more romantic so clearly the fans are not the only people who saw the chemistry
Another Thing I'd say is good about the Play is the Idea of one of the Kids struggling to live up to Expectations and that also leading to Conflict. Many People have voiced Discontent with Albus Severus' Character, calling him whiny and mean, but honestly, I personally enjoyed it immensely.
Ugh I hate that hermione was minister of magic. In the deathly hallows she stated that she didn’t want to go into the ministry and I feel like it would make more sense for her to be a teacher (same w harry making him an auror is one of the weirdest things I’ve ever heard) or an activist of sorts bc that’s what she was passionate about
@@DarthAxolotl It was book 4 where fake Moody said he'd make a good auror. Then in book 5, he watched aurors under orders attack Hagrid and McGonagall, not to mention what "aurors" did in book 7.
hey morgan i was wondering if you could finish those harry potter hidden easter eggs series. i really enjoyed it i know it takes hours and hours to make these amazing videos!
I just hate how Petunia try to do her redemption Because she haven't say sorry to Harry She just try to show she had done something wrong or not( but she haven't say it) I just hate her! Harry should tell the police and she should be put into jail(her husband i.e. Vernon as well)
The best thing was Hagrid saying to Harry as he's rescuing him from Godric's Hallow, "I'm Rubeus Hagrid, and I'm gonna be your friend whether you like or not"
Or else the 8th book is a good example for what can happen if you messing with the timeline. Albus accidently arased him self from reality and Voldemort and Severus come back to life. The smart Scorpius fixed it with help of others sacrifise.
My personal thought on Albus being sorted to Slytherin, I thought it was a good idea, but he is always being compared to his father. Not just resembling him, but being a Potter and just comparing him to his father. It just not fair on Albus, he wanted to show what he can do, but the pressure is making it difficult. Also, a Potter being friends with a Malfoy? Remember James Potter and Sirius Black? The two Slytherin boys are in a similar dynamic but differently.
Spoiler Alert for the stage show : The play itself is actually really good and Morgan has said this before the stage performance is amazing the cast did an amazing job with that they were given to work with and the ending to part one is chilling when dementors actually fly above you is really awesome
Might be a weird take, but I liked that Harry was not a good dad. He went through so much in his life that having trouble to be a good dad kinda fits him.
Even before JK Rowling's transphobic arc where people feel more comfortable criticizing her works for the more problematic elements of them, I genuinely don't understand how people don't see how she just doesn't really care about the internal logic & consistency of the HP franchise. She didn't when she wrote the books, she didn't when advising the filmmakers when they adapted the books, she didn't with the Fantastic Beast movies, & she didn't with The Cursed Child. Like, are you people blind?
Got an email about 2 days ago. "Good news! The Cursed Child is coming to your country!" Please don't ruin one of my favorite franchises in my own backyard :')
In the new revisions of the cursed child play that’s been on stage post covid, Albus and Scorpius’ relationship has changed into a more explicitly queer and romantic one. By the end of the play they are interrupted before a kiss, and when albus speaks to Harry afterwards he tells him scorpius is the most important person in his life and might always be forever. I saw the show on tour in September 2024, so the most recent version at the time. It seems the writers have changed their minds and decided to lean into the queer subtext and make it canon. But then again, there’s also reports of a new revision of the play coming soon, so who knows, they might change it again.
@ if you Google the cursed child revisions there should be some articles about it . I think the changes started in 2021 or 2022 but this was my first time seeing it in September since it’s on tour. But yeah I’m pretty sure if you look up the reviews of the revised performances they will address albus and scorpius’ change to a romantic relationship. There’s even a scene in the alternate reality where Voldemort killed harry, Snape is trying to teach Scorpius to fend off the dementors and tells him to think of the thing he loves more than anything in the world. And Scorpius yells Albus’ name.
@@redstar312 Yeah digging deeper all of it seems to not be true. The only revisions they made were to make it more family friendsly (which unfortunately means they would probably tone anything gay down which is fucked up but that's the world we live in). Everything I see is about their relationship does not come from a credible source. Pretty much everything is just speculation. Nothing about a kiss either besides on reddit and fan couple pairings. Maybe you misinterpreted it? Maybe the actors improvised something that wasn't in the script for that specific show? Either way I don't think that's true.
@ I see why you’re skeptical to believe me. You’re right there doesn’t seem to be any major articles about that aspect of the revisions and the possible “kiss” interruption scene I will admit that was ambiguous. I would just say you need to see it for yourself if you care to while it’s on tour because outside of the actors performances, there were a lot of dialogue changes from the original script, particularly from scorpius’ end, that made it more apparent their relationship was romantically budding by the end of the show. But like I said, this was just the most recent revision at the time and who knows how they change it in the future going forward. Anyway great video! I love all your Harry Potter content :)
I liked how Scorpius and Albus are pals and I hate how the writers missed the opportunity to use Rose Weasley in the text. I mean, I've seen fanart comics and fanfiction that develop her character and her relationship with Scorpius in particular.
This book is so hard to finish, even though it is one of the shorter books it has taken me the longest to read (I've not even finished it) and I thought Order of the Phoenix was hard to go through. Oh well, at least we can agree this thing should never exist and refuse to acknowledge its existence
I liked Draco being jealous of the golden trio because honestly this is something that always struck me reading the books Malfoy was actually very lonely he needed real friends
This story had potentional! I wouldn't mind a bit of new "Wizard ex machina" and multiversum stuff like in spiderman if they would at least avoid stupid retcons from the books! Without any "Ron and Hermione needed to fell jealous to be together and only this way they can be happy" Delphini potetnial as a character and villain works but the plot doesn't. I personally wouldn't mind her thinking she's the daughter of the dark lord, sience Harry thought he or Draco could be Slyterin decendances and he never questioned Tom Riddle in second book. And sience Delphini story was suppoused to be the "dark parrawel" to Harry's. It would make sense to make her "the chosen one" who is manipulated by deatheaters. Mostly Rudolphus Lestarange to think she has some bigger purpouse, but in reality she would be just they're tool, like Harry was to Dumbledore. This would work. And maybe they should make her daughter of Rudolphus instead of Voldemort. But I disagree about the blanket. It was only for a plot and very cringe. He could have give him marauders map. Maybe Albus would find a room of requirement? This would suit him well, for an edgy bad rep slyterin boy. And someone please explain to me why Scorpius simps for Rose? And why is Rose so awful, and without redemption ark?
Honestly, a west end and Broadway run of the first two A very potter musicals in the place of cursed child would be miles better than cursed child, cos at least Avpm is aware that it breaks canon. And it doesn’t actually matter. That would be so iconic

I lost it
*spoilers*
for me the funniest and weirdest thing that was revealed in this book/play was that the trolley witch is actually a immortal beign, doomed to push the cart forever (she has even forgotten her name because no one bothers to ask)
she also has long nails and stops childeren from going off the train
I do appreciate the part at the end where Harry visited Cedric's grave. He never forgot about Cedric.
This must’ve been like being forced to pull out your own teeth
Honestly Morgan, I really like your rewrite of CC. I’ve watched it more than once and recommended it to others 😊
Ugh I hate that hermione was minister of magic. In the deathly hallows she stated that she didn’t want to go into the ministry and I feel like it would make more sense for her to be a teacher (same w harry making him an auror is one of the weirdest things I’ve ever heard) or an activist of sorts bc that’s what she was passionate about
Making Harry the job that he said he wanted to do in the book and was set up since book 3. How is that weird lol
Also Kindsley is *canonically* still MfM when the play takes place lol
@@DarthAxolotl It was book 4 where fake Moody said he'd make a good auror. Then in book 5, he watched aurors under orders attack Hagrid and McGonagall, not to mention what "aurors" did in book 7.
hey morgan i was wondering if you could finish those harry potter hidden easter eggs series. i really enjoyed it i know it takes hours and hours to make these amazing videos!
Another good thing: Albus being sorted into Slytherin
Hi! I LOVE your videos and i LOVE your Harry Potter charecter videos. Can you please make Olivanders life video? 😊
I just hate how Petunia try to do her redemption
Because she haven't say sorry to Harry
She just try to show she had done something wrong or not( but she haven't say it)
I just hate her!
Harry should tell the police and she should be put into jail(her husband i.e. Vernon as well)
Yeah I think that blanket this was too much. It was only for a plot and stupid argument scene.
And Dudley in a behavier-school or prison for teenagers.
To me, one of the only positive things is that Harry is the chef of the house
“How many people have died for the boy who lived?” 🔥🔥🔥
the thing I hated the most was Albus kissing hermione, I stopped reading after act 1 and half of act 2 its just that bad
The Cursed Crap
The best thing was Hagrid saying to Harry as he's rescuing him from Godric's Hallow, "I'm Rubeus Hagrid, and I'm gonna be your friend whether you like or not"
Or else the 8th book is a good example for what can happen if you messing with the timeline.
Albus accidently arased him self from reality and Voldemort and Severus come back to life.
The smart Scorpius fixed it with help of others sacrifise.
i liked how Albus was sorted in slytherin. that was a good and interesting idea
I did not remember Cedric was a death eater. That just does not compute. I can’t imagine Cedric being that upset he didn’t win the tournament.
It's incredible how happiness can occur even in the darkest of times.
Spoiler Alert for the stage show : The play itself is actually really good and Morgan has said this before the stage performance is amazing the cast did an amazing job with that they were given to work with and the ending to part one is chilling when dementors actually fly above you is really awesome
Been waiting for this video since I subscribed to this channel.
I already know this will be fire 🔥
Please make a video titled “a deep dive into the marauders” I would love to hear it view on the canon v famous fan fictions like atyd! 😮
"10 good things from The Cursed Child"? Am I dreaming?
I do like how it explores some what ifs before it became a cliche, even though how it happens completely retcons the original canon
The Hobbit movies are actually good as they follow the source material to a tee
I agree
Yeah, its the Rings of Power tv show that ruined LOTR franchise, not the Hobbit movies.
@@geviesanta3631 exactly
Dumbledore said “do not pity the dead pity the living and above all pity those who spent 8$ on the cursed child”
I actually like the interpretation of Albus and Scorpius becoming an item later on
not immediately, sure, but eventually, it'd be cool
Surely the best thing about Harry Potter and the cursed child is when it you're forced to watch it and it ends?
"Good news! The Cursed Child is coming to your country!"
Please don't ruin one of my favorite franchises in my own backyard :')
After sooo may years you finally decided to do this vid😂😂
Jabs at the Hobbits, When snoring rings of powder excists 🙄
I hated the book, but I would LOVE to see the play IRL, my girlfriend told me it looks amazing and makes you forget how bad the book is 😂
Damn even when he gives it credit. He's still giving it a backhand lol .
Where did you hear that?? I don't think that's true
@ I saw it September 2024 in Chicago. It’s on currently on its first national tour in the US.
They could have used a powerful spell attack or overly powerful Buggart to make Harry relive this scene.
This book is so hard to finish, even though it is one of the shorter books it has taken me the longest to read (I've not even finished it) and I thought Order of the Phoenix was hard to go through. Oh well, at least we can agree this thing should never exist and refuse to acknowledge its existence
Lethal Weapon never missed. Even the National Lampoon's parody version of it doesn't miss.
I liked Draco being jealous of the golden trio because honestly this is something that always struck me reading the books Malfoy was actually very lonely he needed real friends
best thing to come from this are the memes you make about it
This story had potentional! I wouldn't mind a bit of new "Wizard ex machina" and multiversum stuff like in spiderman if they would at least avoid stupid retcons from the books!
Without any "Ron and Hermione needed to fell jealous to be together and only this way they can be happy"
Delphini potetnial as a character and villain works but the plot doesn't.
This is like finding the edible parts in a pufferfish
"10 good things that came out of this GARBAGE play"
Perfect
I saw the cute child recently here in Canada. I had a good time. Besides the story. But I bought a book of how they did the production
My mom read me and my sister the Curse Child book when we were kids.
Hi I’m an absolute massive fan!!!! 🎉
