Hey, I used to work in automotive lighting design; I just want to say THANK YOU, for doing such a great video series. People really don't realize how important filament placement inside of the headlight housing is to getting the proper and LEGAL beam pattern. The amount of Time, design, testing and equipment to get a proper beam pattern would probably stagger most people. So many of these cheap shitty HID/LED DIY kits end up doing nothing but blinding oncoming traffic and leaving you with less light than you started with *cough* Opt7 *cough*.
Thank you guys so much for making this updated video, I swapped my gen 3 Ultra bulbs out for the GTR Ultra 2 bulbs and the difference is massive. The cutoff is much sharper, the hot spot is more intense, and the high beams are a night and day difference. The Ultra 2 bulbs have a much more focused pattern and really light up the road for a long distance where the gen 3 Ultras were more diffused and didn't reach very far. 100% satisfied with my new GTR lighting Ultra 2 bulbs in my 2014 F150
I have a 2013 f150 fx4. It came with the hid headlights from the factory with no chrome anywhere, but the previous owner of the truck installed junk Chinese headlights. I like the led bulbs that you talked about in this video, but how can I use these? I couldn't use them in the current lights. Do they make new housings that are black and not chrome?
I have the Headlight Experts H13 in my 2010 F-150 now. Sometimes one doesn’t work. I want to get different ones. What does the Ultra 2 look like compared to my current ones?
Any chance you guys could make a video showcasing the options for fog light upgrades on 2009-2014 F150s? I have Morimoto XB LED fogs right now and I'm wondering if GTR lighting Ultra 2 bulbs will outperform them.
I wonder if LED bulbs would work well as fog in these trucks for the long run. Since they are so low to the ground and the fan could get caked up with dirt and mud, thus clogging up the fan from spinning?
@@stevenn4393 I had this same exact thought, that's why I'd love to see them compare the stock bulbs to the GTR Ultra 2 bulbs, the fanless GTR CSP Mini bulbs, and if possible the Morimoto XB LED fog lights. The XB LED fogs are good, but they are dim by comparison to the Ultra 2 headlight bulbs I have installed. They seemed really bright compared to the stock H13 bulbs, but I can hardly tell they're on with my GTR Ultra 2 low beams. If the CSP Minis are better than the Morimoto XB fogs, I'll go with them unless the Ultra 2 bulbs are so much better than the CSP Minis that it's worth building a shroud to protect the fans from excess water, dirt, and mud.
We will definitely do that video. In our experience, the fans really don’t get caked with mud and dirt as badly as you might expect. We’ve installed them on Jeeps that get wheeled off-road pretty hard without any trouble.
@@HeadlightRevolution This is great to hear, I really appreciate you guys helping us by making these videos. It's nice knowing I'm buying the best bulbs for my specific vehicle.
@@HeadlightRevolution Any updates on when you plan to release the 09-2014 F150 fog light video? If you have something that puts out more light than my Morimoto XB fogs I'm ready to buy it.
@@HeadlightRevolution If we already have the factory HID option, is there a bulb replacement that would be a significant upgrade without spending $1k+ for the XB LEDs? Replacement LEDs or a new HID bulb?

How do you adjust these bulbs. They're 3 sided so is there a certain way they have to be turned because mine seems to be brighter on low beam than high beam.
I have them installed on my 2012 F150 although very bright down road they scattered too much light and I’ve been flashed multiple times even after adjusting
Thank you for the high quality video. I was looking on Amazon and read some comments regarding LED bulbs interfering with TPMS system due to radio interference... any thoughts?
That should not happen for you at all, if it does, we do have Static Reducing Clips that can snap right over some bulb wires for the bulb causing the interference! Let us know if you have any other questions!
Just ordered the SV4 bulbs for my ‘13 F150 with halogen housings. Is there anything else I should know about the install? I’m so excited to pair these with my Baja Designs SAE fog lights.
So how were the LEDs in your halogen housings? I want to upgrade but at the same time I don't want to blind other drivers? Do you get brighted a lot with them? Have you had friends that own cars tell you that they're too bright?
@@hotfiyah I do get flashed a bit. I am on a 2 inch lift and 34in tires, so everything is a little higher than usual. I have found the right angle to get them low enough. They’re bright as hell though.

Awesome! I’m so glad you love them! They are a big difference compared to those Gen 3 bulbs.
Did you have to adjust the lights to account for the new bulb style or was it just a pop in and go situation?
@@Thegr8aarod I think I made a minor adjustment to how they were aimed, but they probably would have been fine without adjusting the aim
Do they plug directly into the factory plug, or do they require something additional?
What fog lights would you recommend? To go with your recommendation for the bulbs?
I would suggest reaching out to our CS team so we can go over some options with you!

These are a direct replacement for the entire headlight, so it just plugs into the OEM wiring. Morimoto does not make these available with chrome.
