Golf was much more interesting and exciting in this particular era. Seve was the Arnold Palmer of Europe and was exciting to watch. I miss watching him. RIP, great man.
It was the last year we saw Seve in his prime as the back injury kicked in worse in the late 80s early 90s which shortened his career. He also dedicated his self to the European tour and only played in a few events in America.
I recall a lot of convincing by Seve's caddy on 18, convincing him to lay up and make birdie that way. The Seve of 1979 would have gone for the green in 2 which probably would not have come off
