oh my, this is indeed like one of the single worst things to start with when watching ultraman (i know that was the point but still lol). something youll notice if you keep watching this is that there i gonna be A LOT of references to past events that theyll just kinda expect you to know going in, so look forward to the added confusion. ultraman is a franchise in which literally any plot point of character from anything since the franchise started in 1966 can and will just randomly show up again in the future, with the ultra galaxy fights being the ultimate example of it, so its honestly really worthwhile watching everything from the start. destined crosroad on its own will probably get a bit overwelming, but good on ya for jumping in at the deep end like this. just a couple basic lore things to get ya up to speed tho: ultras are indeed aliens and that is what they naturally look like, only in reality theyre all 40 to 50 meters tall, which doesnt really come across in galaxy fight since there arent any human characters so dont have to sell the sense of scale. in a standard main series, the ultra will merge with a human on earth and share their body, so if a monster shows up the human can transform into the ultra to fight it, but only up to a maximum of three minutes at a time. the blue light on their chest will start blinking red when theyre running out of time or have taken a lot of damage. you are correct in your asumption that the term 'ultraman' is a title that you have to earn, hence why astra and yullian dont have it. thats just the super basic stuff for now, if you continue on and ask more questions i should be around to provide answers.
Thank you for the very long explanation here! My friend do mentioned that Ultraman is an old franchise but I didn't know it's 1966 LONG! It's amazing to know that it's still alive after decadesss. I do get a hunch that they're an alien but 40-50 metres tall is unexpected HAHA. So from what I'm getting, there'll be no human character throughout this series? I do want to see their interaction with any human. Or... Can they turn to human since you mentioned that they merge with them? Also, what does one need to do to get the 'Ultraman' title? :)
@@Sonata-n7h correct, there are no humans in this series, just the ultraman characters doing their thing. ultra and human interactions do happen often in the main tv shows set on earth however. you are correct too that some ultraman characters can create a human form to fit in on earth as opposed to merging with an existing person, but the merging method is more common. both do lead to interesting different stories throughout different shows, like with the ultra human merging method, the ideals of the human and ultra can contrast and lead to conflict between them, and with ultra in human disguise stories the actual humans could be doing something bad to another alien, but the ultra cant do anything to stop it or theyll have their identity revealed, so have to try and stop things a different way. the ultraman title is one earned by ultra warriors who do something extraordinarly heroic, most commonly protecting the earth for a while. some of those who stay and protect earth for an extended period become part of an elite group known as the ultra brothers, basically the top dogs of the ultraman society, headed by the father and mother of ultra (the ones with the big horns and pigtail looking things seen in galaxy fight). a little bonus thing is that ultras' skin color show what their better at, with the red and silver ones being physically stronger, and the blue ones being more intelligent but less skilled at combat.
