My mother was OBSESSED with Elvis...she had every Elvis Movie, piece of music, video, she had a Velvet portrait of Elvis at the top of our staircase and a literal bust of Elvis in the living room. I grew up feeling like Elvis Presley was a family member 🤣 But kidding aside, my mom exposed me to one of the greatest singers ever and I'm so thankful for that. I have always loved Elvis Presley and always will. ♥

Elvis Presley was my family member and we didn’t have that much Elvis stuff! LOL But, seriously, Elvis’ mother and my great-grandmother, who I knew very well, were cousins. I have several family members who are very musically talented, both instrumentally and vocally. I still absolutely adore him and even have a dog named Elvis. Elvis was a lonely man after his mother died. She was everything to him. At her funeral he tried to keep the funeral people from closing the casket. He was never the same. Both he & his mama died at 42 years old. Elvis has been dead longer than he was alive. He celebrity continues to grow.
Life isn’t fair. How ever God gave an Elvis an amazing voice, talent, looks, stage presence and knew how to use his voice to enhance a great song in every setting. Elvis was influenced by black gospel music growing up. That’s where he gets his soul from in his music. Watch the 1969 come back concert. It was live with the crowd that you see. Your video just had still pictures. But the live concert was amazing.
there is no entertainer now or ever that comes close to Elvis..........He had it all....
He truly was the total package. Studio recordings were one thing, but the downside was that he hated being in a studio. He never really liked the finished product because the sound engineering largely due to management's 'add ons' was not what he wanted prior to the release. He was completely in his element live where he was in control and would stop a song countless times until the sound was right sound wise. In front of a live audience was where he truly thrived both from the feedback he got from the crowd and giving him the ability to control how the band sounded and interacting with sound people at the same time. When he was on stage, he was untouchable.
Elvis is one of the best singers that has ever lived. He was also a fabulous entertainer. There is a reason he is called "The King". He had a great voice & could sing anything whether it was ballads, gospel or rock.
Every time I hear Elvis sing I'm reminded, "Yup, this is why he's The King." Great reaction, Governor!

I grew up listening to Elvis and my mom was a big fan. As part of my high school graduation gift, my parents took me to an Elvis concert the year before he died. I’ll always be grateful that I got to see “the king” perform in person!

I've been an Elvis fan since I was 5, saw him 3 time's in concert, best times of my life, the day he left us has left me forever broken. Your right, how could 1 Man have it all that looks, charisma, charm and then he opened his mouth and you know God has sent an angel to make us happy, but took him too soon. Elvis will never really die, he left us so much that he will live forever. There will never be another Elvis on this Earth, no one can ever compare, people have tried, but there's no touching the man simply known as Elvis. Thanks for your help keeping him alive. I grew up in Memphis, and Elvis was part of life there as long as I could remember. My oldest sister used to sit across the street from Graceland with her friends, hoping for a glimpse of Elvis. Interestingly, Graceland is pretty close to the church where Al Green used to preach. My best friend had a Graceland/Al Green policy. She would take visitors from out of town to Graceland, but only on Sundays after they first went to Al Green’s church. That’s my Elvis story for the day. Thank you for sharing this song, Harri. Great reaction, and now you know kind of how I have felt every time I have heard his voice for the past 67 or so years!! I met Elvis when I was 13, and he was 20 and just getting started on his meteoric rise towards becoming the KING. It was a one on one encounter - he stopped at a "country store" close to my house to get directions. I happened to be there and was on my way to town. He actually gave me a ride into town. I actually did not know who he was at first, but we were seen by several people in town who recognized him! Man but was I popular with the girls for a few days! From that day till now (I am 80 years old now) there has never been a male vocal artist who could do what he did with his voice as far as I am concerned. And until the last few years there was not a female vocal artist that could instill the emotions and feelings in a song the way He did. By the time Angelina Jordan reaches vocal maturity I honestly believe she will be on an equal par with Him. Never thought I would ever say nor think that but just as he is the "KING", someday soon She will be the "QUEEN"!! I have been blessed with living during the time of the two greatest vocal artists maybe ever!!

I feel Elvis all his life yearned to find someone who could match the depth of love , passion and giving he was capable of feeling and giving. I think he never felt totally fulfilled to the core of his soul with his relationships. He was lonely and kept searching but never found the person to fill that void completely. A song lyric once said "people all around but I don't hear a sound but the lonely bearting of my heart". I'm sure he did have some depression. So sad, he sang all his songs with extraordinary passionate from the depth of his soul and so many were personal pains and joys he could truly relate to in his life. It's a good thing to share emotions through singing songs, I think it helped him deal with life. Music and singing were so important to him. As one person put it" he was a bundle of energy put to music!"
