This songs brings about deep and sobering images and images that make me consider life, death and the passage of time. The spinning of this blue dot we live on in the dark inkiness of space and beyond. This song conjures very strange and haunting feelings. Life, and where all of this is leading to and it’s purpose.
some of the cinematic orquestra's songs, like this one, are just fabulous, really good, call them poetic... with a nostalgic component. They meake me think in my life, in beauty and the happyness that had surrounded me
Music and pictures together represent a remarkable piece of work with an hint of immortality if I may say. It makes me wonder and waver with a cocktail of thoughts... Thank you.
Interesting. I have been watching this for two days now. I don't have a very interesting life- I am only kidding but I kept watching yesterday for it's cinematic value and I felt it had much merit as an art form almost unto itself. The way everything flows. It isn't just about a repetitive motion in the film that feels out to the music. The imagery flows like jazz does. Mysterious, vibrant, joyful, darkish, dangerous, happy, giddy. Then this morning it was the first thing I saw as I forgot to close the window. And then I realize it isn't even filmed in the WEst. there appears to be Cyrillic letters on everything so it must be Russia, Bulgaria, Romania or some other Slavic country. Neat how there was as much life there that seemed to be just like us. Cool. thank you for sharing the post with us. Have a great day. this is nice music too. Very nice.
this is imo the best moment of the movie (and one of their best tracks), when I saw it in the cinema, it was something amazing. with youtube now, everyone uses old and silent movies for music vids, but this still kicks ass.
Awesome Video Watching Past History Unfold very Deep I just Time Traveled 2 the past 😁😀And The Music is so Innovative and Beutiful Let's Appreciate True Artistry Stay Blessed My Brothers and Sisters in JESUS CHRIST Always!!
Anytime I hear this song, I always imagine trekking through a mild blizzard in midday. It's those types of days where the snow is slowly falling in thick clumps. The little crescendos in the beginning are your vision of the background slowly fading in and out of white nothingness. But it's not an angry or furious snow storm, it's light and beautiful, and makes you think.
I can't help but think of clouds quickly moving across a sky for the first 0:30 seconds, followed by a transition to rural, then eventually urban life a little while thereafter.
I USED TO HAVE THIS VIDEO WHERE SOMEONE HAD THIS MUSIC TO BIRDS. THE BIRDS WERE SO BEAUTIFUL AND WENT REAL WELL TO THE MUSIC. UA-cam DELETED IT FROM MY PLAYLIST. BOOO. BUT THE CUT IS SO BEAUTIFUL. LOVE THE SUPER 8 VIDEO THOUGH.
hmm definitely got shades of All things to all men and Flite....but I'm assuming this was earlier? Perhaps the precursor to those songs which morphed into them after being re written?
I Forgot 2 Mention also this Track was used in the True Story of The Guy Who Movie was Based on the Big Hit a A Dog day Afternoon!! with Al Pacino Playing a Guy trying 2 Rob a Bank to get his lover a sex change a Wild story If I'm not Mistaken it was a Documentary called Day of the Dog
The film looks like archive footage of russia during the 1920s. possibly about the movie industry. I don't think it has much of a meaning tho its just poetic much like the music.
I love this song by Cinematic Orchestra and how well it meshes with this movie. Every scene has much more color, explanation, and beauty to it because of the music accompanying it. I'm a musician, so I can certainly appreciate what I hear and see throughout this video. Check out my page as well!
Magic? Sure :) It's 'Reel Life (Evolution II)' from LP 'Man With A Movie Camera' (2003). Pls compare to: Evolution II (Remix By Mr. P) from 'Horizon'(2002): (...)/watch?v=gb9a0KBUsU8 - with classic, relaxing vocal of Fontella Bass.
Whoever did the music video to this amazing song is a genius!
This video is more precious than a diamond. The song is like liquid healing
that bass line gives me chills everytime!

Сразу же на первых кадрах Москва и Минск. До чего же приятно!

They were able to convey several different strong emotions through this one piece, simply genius!

So hauntingly beautiful.
It's truly amazing how the art of music can move influence one's emotions in a inspiring direction. CLASSIC.
This video makes me feel young, it also makes me feel the world was more lively back then
It was. I often think that. But instead of feeling bad I bring the happy memory into the present moment. Once there it seems to awaken everything.

No, on the wiki it says its just about every day life in soviet cities.
You can watch it on archive, org
Wow!

I wish to find other tracks that represent the same genre. What is this genre anyway? It's not jazz?
their earlier work you could classify as acid jazz. this however defies difinitive description
This genre is known as nu-jazz
String. Not more than 5 notes. Genius.
Thats from the film man with a movie camera
do i hear a tamberine being banged on? i don't remember this video having that.
2030, still here

Where did this footage come from? It's obviously 1920's Soviet Union. But is it real or not? I suspect it's real. Fascinating1
My dad tells me it looks like the city he grew up in.
chuunnnneee
:-D you're fun, man
I've seen a similar film about Berlin in the late 20's or early 30's. Have you seen that one? Or know what I'm talking about? Thanks!
antes de morir vi pasar mi vida como en una pelicula...
Does anyone know of anything similar to this in terms of overall sound. Other nu-jazz doesnt have this organic feeling to it.
