Qawawis, South Hebron Hills: Israeli soldiers, some of them settlers, assault and detain shepherds

- On Sunday, 17 March 2024, around 2:30 P.M., Jibril (Jibreen) Nu’man (59) from Qawawis was grazing his flock on his private land, about 50 meters from his house, when a soldier he knows as a settler arrived and ordered him to get out. Nu’man refused and the two began arguing over the land’s ownership. A few minutes later, more soldiers and settlers arrived, handcuffed Nu’man and another shepherd who was in the area, Taleb Nu’man (50), and drove the two men in a military jeep to a nearby military camp. There, two were held for about five hours in a room, where they were forced to sit on the floor. They were not given any food when the time came to break the Ramadan fast for the day. Soldiers took them back to the outskirts of the village at 7:00 P.M.
That weekend, on Saturday, 23 March 2024, at 8:00 A.M., Jibril Nu’man was grazing his flock on the same land, escorted by three Israeli activists, when a settler arrived on foot. He stopped about 30 meters away from the group, shouted at them from a distance and left. Then a private car pulled up by the road and two masked soldiers got out. One of them went over to Nu’man, threatened him at gunpoint and ordered him to hand over his ID card. Again, an argument ensured over ownership of the land and Nu’man’s right to graze his flock there. The soldier claimed Nu’man had to stay more than 20 meters away from the road, even though the distance between the land and the road is much greater. The two soldiers pushed him and separated him from the activists, and three other soldiers who arrived tied his hands in front and blindfolded him. The soldiers forced him to sit on the ground, and one of them kicked his legs and swore at him. They called the police, but the officers who came left when they found no cause to arrest Nu’man. The soldiers then took Nu’man in a military jeep to a nearby camp, beating him and swearing at him on the way. At the camp, the soldiers made Nu’man sit on a chair, handcuffed and blindfolded, until 2:30 P.M., without giving him water or food and without letting him pray. After that, they drove him to the entrance to the village of She’b al-Batem rather than to his own village of Qawawis.

Under international law the occupier does not have the right to self defence because they have taken on an attacking stance. Analogy: A rapist crying self defence when his victim resists.
International law states "by all available means" in which case any form of resistance by the oppressed is within international law.

My ancestors were treated like this by Nazis in the Shtetl from which they were erased and now I watch Jewish children acting in exactly the same way.,
First take a breather. The activists that filmed it are also Israelis, and they are known for posting things out of context. Were your ancestors from the shtetel taken by the army while German activists supporting them and were later released? :) don't make a clown shown out of history
@@fir3drag0n1984 I have watched hundreds of videos on this channel. Sometimes they are edited to exclude the context and I don't comment on them. But mostly, they show one or two unarmed people being bullied, harassed, threatened, humiliated, occasionally beaten and sometimes arrested by groups of American/Israeli supremicist thugs who are pretty much always armed to the teeth. The only people making a 'clown show' out of history are the Israelis who have trashed the memory of the holocaust for the sake of indulging their own brand of racist psychopathy.

@@andypitt2848 Stop degrading the meaning of words. It is disrespectful for cases of actual genocide and undermines the validity of the point you are trying to make. What we are seeing here is a video of an Israeli activist group known to publish materials out of context showing possible rough treatment of a civilian, again have a bit of humility. Unless you are intimately familiar with the situation you may not understand what is going on in the video
