Namaskar Sir. Posting my late night two cents onto an early morning offering from your end.
I have watched and thoroughly enjoyed your earlier comparisons of Pagaria's Creta with other Radios on different bands. I appreciate this radio very much because I myself started listening Radio in a similar model called Philips's Prince. I miss that machine very much to this very day. I am happy trusted brands like Pagaria kept that legacy and integrity alive with modern tweaks to make Creta an all round machine. Regarding R-917, it only bestows the extensive versatility of Pagaria.
My only issue with Creta is it's Tuning Panel. Gone are the days when Analog TV's used to be a thing and TV Bands in a Radio were an important feature to listen programmes and movies. If Pagaria can extend their Shortwave Bands by replacing TV1 & TV2 bands, this model will be immortalized forever.
An upgradation to R-917 in extending their Shortwave Bands and improvements to FM Tuning too would be appreciative. 73! 🙏

Exactly, that is what Pagaria must do. They should remove TV bands from creta and instead give width to SW bands. And regarding R-917, they should increase Antenna height, and fix the wobbly FM band and of possible re-adjust SW bands to accomodate important 25 m band.
But, it is easy for us to recommend, but for a company, it is hard to re-adjust a working manufacturing unit.
@@pravindersheoranji, rightly said Sir. Easy to recommend but difficult to implement. But we also need not to forget that these products are solely manufactured for customers. Many brands undergo necessary upgradations for their products on their loyal customers joint demand and this only increase a brand's preference over others. Radios are returning back to attain their lost glory with full force all thanks to your efforts here in YT. I'm sure necessary upgradations to ease the usage of a product will extend it's reach to every corner of the country manifolds. 73! 🙏

Hello Pravinder sir, could you please help me in the followings: there are 2 main problems that i have encountered with d-219: i have installed AA battery of Panasonic. i bought on 28th Feb. 2024. 1. I played for around 30 Hrs. till today. battery got over. is the problem with the battery or does the set consume higher power to run? 2. I noticed that this set has some frequencies missing in medium and fm. for instance, in medium frequency starts from 520 KHZ to 1622 KHZ. but the frequency from 1333 to 1588 are missing. can you let me know to figure out those problems?
Ji dekhiye, I haven't checked battery backup for D-219, as I have 40 Radios and it's not possible to play one Radio and wait for its batteries to end. But I guess the problem is not in the battery but the backup of the Radio must be poor.
Regarding the missing frequency, what do you mean it's missing ? How did you find out it's missing ?

Sir, I do not remember the exact frequency of the channel, but in my locality there is a channel, all india radio diphu both in medium and fm whose frequencies are somewhere around 1588. in medium and 100.9 and 102.7 in fm. while I try to tune the channel in medium, i am not getting that channel. while i tune in fm, i get both the frequencies of fm. i found while tuning in medium that the frequency ranging somewhere from 132 KHZ above and below 1620 KHZ do not show on the display of the radio. However, I get superp signal strength of whatever the channel it is receiving in both medium and shortwave.
@@jyotiniketanmontfortschool143 ji, perhaps the MW broadcast was stopped and the station was transferred to MW band.
It's not possible that some Frequencies are missing on D-219, it has got full range. Or maybe you checked the MW station at the time when MW broadcast was off. Please try again. Also, you can try 1413 kHz bbc or 1422 kHc China Radio International.

@@PankajGupta-pf7vz ji, aisa kuch nahin hai. Radio to wohi hai chaahe sasta ho ya mahanga. Jarur aap cells par Radio chala rahe hain. Aap naye cells daalein, aapke cells kamjor ho chuke hain. Naye cells use karte hi ye problem apne aap door ho jayegi.
It is common knowledge that bigger radios have bigger components like switches, volume control tuning system, speaker etc. And due to bigger size they last longer, easy to replace and repairing cost is less. Push button contacts become defective which makes the radio unusable. Old electronic contacts and switches used gold and silver coating for which they lasted very long. Pagaria, Ramson, Deltron, Santosh etc are reputed low priced Indian radio manufacturers. Unless portability is important, you should always go for bigger radios. For quality sound, small speakers can never match bigger speakers.

The only issue with pagaria 917 is it's small size antenna....
Yes, one needs to attach a wire with its Antenna for better reception.
Yes, I also experienced this. When I attached a tiny hollow aluminum pipe with its whip antenna, the result was drastically changed. Actually, along with the internal circuitry, there is an important role of the whip antenna. Its hight matters in every type of radio in FM band.

Hi @Pravinder ji, So after getting defective products twice from flipkart, I have returned the radio for refund. Based on my experience, I won't recommend this 'kabad dabba'😂. Tuner indicator was not aligned, USB not working, charging port is not proper and very poor quality plastic material. It is so unfortunate that Indian companies still can't make basic products like radio with quality even though their price is competitive with international brands. This Pagaria 'Dabba' was really a disappointing purchase.
I have the same, everything works, fit and finish issues are there but I didn't expect to buy Taj Mahal in 1300/- either. It's sound, reception are unmatchable by the radios coming in 2000 even.
Anyway, everyone has their own opinions. Pagaria is not the only Radio in this world.
@@pravindersheoran no doubt sound and reception are good but the company should try to match their quality with international brands even if it is little costly. Pagaria creta according to me with all these issues I highlighted earlier is not worth more than Rs 500-600.
@@monsieurashishk ji, you are right but same quality and less feature Radios are sold in 800-1000 in local market. It's easier said than done. They don't give charger, remote, such Antenna and speaker.
Price is justified.
It's another story that they may make a robust Radio and sell it in 2000.
