Jamie really looks like he's in his element designing death traps launched from cars.
Honestly should have gotten his own show doing that!
Jamie: “ I’m all oiled up and ready to go “ not a sentence I thought I’d be hearing today
A sentence you generally hear under slightly different circumstances.... if at all.
I said “Ayoo”🤣🤣
That ball drop is just magic... Couldn't be more perfect!
I remember this one, it helped me got a good grade on a physic test a week after. They were basically my science teachers back then!
Which particular myth?
You remember the exact grade you got?
Thank goodness it wasn't an English test.
@@mrroboshadow it's the first law of Newton. I know this doesn't prove the first law. But my dumb ass back then thought it was, and it he;ped me to visualize it.
Sorry you were let down by the education system.
Damn, Jamie's devices are literally miniature anti-tank barricades. Man's hardcore.
They retested the caltrops with hollow tubes in the later seasons and they blew out the tires in like 5 seconds flat.
@@KamikazeDigital That makes sense, like they said the problem with the caltrops was that they plugged the hole they made. What episode did they re-test them? Cause I don't remember it. Was it the reboot wiht the new hosts or were Adam and Jamie still there?
The Hyneman doesn't mess around.
Ball drop was legendary footage. It’s basically played everywhere’s
Jamie is oiled up
I thought about clipping that for a soundboard
And ready to go too 😈 🥵
How the hell did they ever think dropping Tory from a treadmill from a moving car was a good idea?
I highly doubt they actually did. I’m pretty sure that segment was purely just for the lulz.
@@fanghurJamie did a Q&A about things he wishes he could’ve done, and he spoke about this one. He, very seriously, said “I want to be the ball”, but the insurers wouldn’t allow it
They like hurting him it seems
Spy car myths are awesome.
I got a Robert Lee in my left ear XD
Weird how mixing for TV changes stuff huh
I love when Jamie's car fills with smoke and he has a close shave
Wearing only the right earpiece watching Mythbuster is an entirely new experience.
Can you not switch it to mono?
The car is the mighty MIATA!!!
Was probably just really cheap lol
@@ShockingPikachu undoubtedly...
About the tacks, couldn't you simply make ones that empty a tire quicker? Like making them from tubes to allow the air to flow out faster once the tire is punctured?
Of course.
IIRC they did cover that in another episode and it worked rather well!
my left ear feels all the love
Can you not switch to mono rather than stereo?
@@wingerding ill try
Tory got saved by the bell and thank goodness. That would have been brutal...
The spikes should be considered plausible in an ideal scenario
I understand the cops were like totally taking notes when these guys showed up.
Wasn't there an ep when they (probably Jamie) did indeed made hollow tacks?
yes!
If the caltrops were made of hollow tubing, then they eould be effective. I'm not sure sbout modern police spikebelts, but when they were first were developed, the spikes were hollow to that they would punch out small circles of rubber. This was to prevent a devestating blowout, but presumably also to ensure thay the tires would flatten quickly.
The caltrops would have worked if thet were holow
I wonder if with the road spikes the use of hollow spikes would have drained the air faster.
in a later episode they do that and it works instantly
@@Mindinvasion Well, my suspicions confirmed, I'm satisfied. Thanks.
@@Mindinvasion Don't suppose you know which episode that is, so I can watch it? No problem if not.
@@MrEsphoenix Its one of the revisited ones where fans said they did stuff wrong, Ill try to look it up.

Myths tested:
Can a video game that simulates a skill lead to real-world improvement in that skill?
Are hollow road spikes more effective in stopping a car than solid ones?
Is it difficult to hold on to a live grenade once the pin is pulled?
Can you fire and reload a pistol as quickly as in a Hollywood action movie?
It's like the narrator is in my room, talking into my right ear...
Flip your headphones he should be on the left lol
For me it's my left ear
This must be an awkward way to find out you have your headphones flipped.
Surely vegetable oil was the least effective oil they could have used.
Testing the smoke grenades and bombs is silly. I mean that is what they were designed to do. In quantity you can land choppers, and tanks. LOL.
24:10
One thing with air cannons is that they work on psi so the size of the valve is just as important as the pressure in the tank. A large valve can give a massive amount of power even with very little pressure. The famous nitrogen cannon actually was only as powerful as the chicken gun as it needed to be small enough to fit into a car. Therefore to get enough power the pressure had to be huge.
There are hollow versions of these spikes available that drain the tires in no time
29:38 was unexpected XD
The narrator is like a little bee in my ear
Too bad they locked the narrator behind bulletproof glass.
The fact the insurers were okay with everything else Tory has done but not that is really funny
Makes me wonder how many times they would have tried to stop him but couldn't make the phone call on time.
@@wingerding FR tho like a 10 mph drop (technically 0 because physics) is quite literally one of the least dangerous things he would have done. How many times were phones turned off lol
That little car Adam is holding in the start reminds me of a certain initial... OwO
Whoever edited this video can you please just put the audio into MONO!?
Can't you?
make the tacks more effective by making them out of stainless tubing.
The Spiketacks technically work, but realistically don't... They plug the hole and so the air gets out too slow, and the car's weight completely flattens them so they can't even add extra bumps on the tires to mess with turning.
They revisited this myth in later episodes, and made the tacks from hollow tubes rather than solid steel.
The hollow spikes were much more effective at quickly deflating tyres.
Who is that guy talking behind my laptop?😄
Narrator ASMR for left ear
next episode up! its time for us all to bust together guys
Relax
I just busted after 3 weeks!
41:28 I'm guessing this was before GPS was invented
Ehhhhhhhm no? 🤣
Do you think when GPS was invented it came with 1000's of satellites magically popping into existence in orbit? all up to current day precision standards? 🤔😉It has taken several decades (~5) to get to a point where a GPS speedometer is actually (somewhat) viable. And even today a professional GPS speedometer isn't going to give you better data then a laser timing the actual wheel 😂
Thanks for the chuckle & not meaning to be rude here or anything, just thought your conclusion is pretty funny, have a good day champ 👍😁
Car speedos under-read, by law!
Also: the caltrops are usually hollow.
While the caltrops are hollow they quickly create a flat tyre not a tyre blowout. They make a car perform worse, not instantly take them out of action (with an experienced driver anyway)
There's probably a whole bunch of episodes from back in the day I never watched and I think this might be one of them. I remember watching this show as a kid.
Why didn’t they drill holes in the tack to let the air out 👹🤡
half the myths felt like they already did the maths but just want to do the experiment like they didn't already did teh maths just for good television 🤣
the only time the fall time would be different would be if the object can generate some sort of lift when moving through the air like wings
they wanted a fast spy car
they got a miata.. which is overtaken by an Accord
Fast... and in their budget.
Why is the narrator in the left ear all the time? Almost all episodes have this problem.
they didnt expected people to listen with headphones so on the tv it wasn't a big deal and usually mono microphones are on the left side but then centered, the microphone probably didnt do this automatically and they forgot to do it manually
The audio of these videos is annoying as hell. The narrator’s voice is only coming out of the left side. 😩
That whole insurance thing seemed a bit scripted especially considering all the other silly shit they are allowed to do lol it seems a bit suss
From what I understand the Build Teams Health Insurance Meant the only one allowed to do the Rough Stuff was Tori considering all the danger he get's into
Super unusual that we are getting this call right now......... yeah shure, its totally not becaus we know that bevor and are a entertaiment show bevor we are a science on.
Dude check your spelling before getting grumpy.
@@breel75 well i am sorry english is not my first language and i am not as good at it as you. i guess with that i failed to bring across
what i wanted to say
@@breel75Well, I understand what he said
Wicked to see how much this show got neutered down over the years..
and its always these "make believe lies" look everybody , we really wanted to do it, but in the last second our insurance called and said, no way
but one aspect that really nailed it for me, and just got cringeworthy for the last handful of years, were the reactions from Tori, Grant, Kari. that often were so fake & corny, overdramatic acting, and I know they likely dont do it on purpose, and perhaps down to some producer pushing them "to act excited" in the way to elevate the effect.
The B Team are my absolute least favourite part of the whole thing. And yeah, I don't think they're the gawking morons they appear to be - It's got to be the poduction team pushing for them to act that way.
Nr. 15 ausser gefühlten 500 öööhhhs und ääähhhs völlig sinnfreies Video . . .
6:52 Is a pretty disgusting thing to say Adam!
yeah i did a double take when i heard that lmao
What’s the problem?
Maybe it's because I'm not a native English speaker, but what's the problem?
Cry harder!
Adam has always been a sore loser.
Please stop uploading new episodes with one-sided narrator audio, if a 12 year old UA-camr can get stereo sound, you can too- it really isn't that hard.
No they do not share thirty year's experience if they have worked the same number of years and that number adds up to thirty they SHARE fifteen years of experience. If I spent twenty years in my profession and met someone who had the same number of years, it would not give me forty year's experience, we would share twenty years!
Thats only if they had the same level of experience. Which I'm pretty sure isn't the case here. Adam only had 10 years or so at the point Mythbusters started, while Jamie owned the special effects shop the show was filmed in. So Shared 30 Years is correct.
