I have some stencils like these and just don't use them very often. After seeing you use them, I need to break them out and use them again. Thanks Jill for more beautiful cards!
Beautiful cards, Jill. Honestly, I could watch you paint cards all day. I’d have loved to watch you paint them all! I especially loved seeing you paint some robins. The robin is the Christmas bird here in the UK and you see them everywhere on cards and decorations at Christmas.
These stencils are a great idea for finishing off a sketched card. I love that they can be used on any kind of card and for any purpose. Your cards are beautiful! Thanks, Jill!
Absolutely fabulous. Every day I think that day's cards are my favorites. LOL. Actually, I love them all. These, however, with the addition of the stenciled shapes really are fabulous.
Just gorgeous Jill... love the stamps which are on my wish list which is growing almost hourly as I watch your videos! I only have Oxide pads these days but like them a lot for painting 😊❤
Jill, I love using stencils and your ideas are fantastic. I will be giving them a try for sure next time. I love all your cards Jill. You have been extra busy . I do enjoy watching you so very much and learning new techniques ❤. 🌺🎄🌺🎄🌺🎄
A big WOW on using that rectangle stencil. I can't believe how much it elevates how the card looks. I need some of that Toffee Crunch. I really love the Feather Trio and the Background Basics. Great video.
Thanks for sharing Jill. I just purchased the stencil set, they really brought your cards to the next level and they can be used year round. I hope you will will create year around cards using this technique.
Wonderful ideas, Jill! Thanks so much for sharing. You make allthee techniques look easy & something we can all do. The stencils are on my next order for sure!!
Hi Jill, these cards are just beautiful, as always🥰 This would be an easy way for me to step up my cards, by grounding and drawing more attention to the focal point by using the shaped frames!! Thank You for all of your tips and techniques to help us all❤
Hi Jill. I love the way the stencils work and these cards are beautiful. I tried to order last night and the way to do it was so hard. Finally I stopped for a few hours and tried again and got it through. But after seeing this I want to order more and hate the thoughts of trying again. I hope the company can make it easier. Thanks.
Thanks for watching, Edna. So sorry for the difficulty with the site. Our headquarters office is aware and are working on a fix. Thanks for your patience!
Ooh this is right up my alley! I have been doing a happy dance since I already have "Feathered Trio", and "Sleigh Ride" stamps; working along with you is always so much fun. These are some of my favorite cards so far. Thanks girl. Hugs❤😊
That shadow box just makes the cards so finished and beautiful. Once I get my watercoloring back into practice I will be making some of these with all the beautiful stamps I've accumulated over the years (and some new PB&J) that I just have to get.
This is wonderful! Exactly the place I get stuck-what to do with the image I just created! Another great idea! Thanks for making it so easy with your sketches!
I discovered Memento Toffee Crunch via one of your videos years ago. I love it so much and it looks perfect on these cards. Thank you for sharing all the ways to use the stencils! Is it tomorrow yet? I can't wait for Video #6
Jill, your cards are beautiful. Using the stencils helps your focal image stand out and gives them a touch of cheerful elegance, even with Santa and the Reindeer. Of course, your coloring is outstanding. Thank you for giving me the courage to try a little 'water coloring' myself. Happy Holidays.
So beautiful Jill. Your watercolouring looks so amazing and brings those sweet images to life. Great stencil set too - love it. Just wondering if the sketches are available somewhere for us to save or print out?
Thanks so much for your support! For the Birdhouse Berries, I used Distress Ink Reinkers used as watercolors in the following colors: Barn Door, Broken China, Faded Jeans, Gathered Twigs. For the background inking with the stencil I used Memento ink in Toffee Crunch color and Ranger Archival ink in Sky Blue. Happy stamping!
I LOVE this look! These cards are beautiful. I really like the birds with the birdhouse! There's just something extra special about that scene! Okay Jill, help me out. I've looked up cold pressed and warm and/or hot pressed water color paper. The explanations didn't sink it (duh...)! Can you simplify the difference for me? Which do you prefer and why? You don't need to write a thesis but a quick, simple explanation (example ?) would work! Hopefully I'm not the only one who has questioned this!!! I love when you do a cardmaking series. I look forward to every new video along the line but for me, they always end too soon (sad)! TFS! I'm inspired every time!
Awh! Thanks so much, Gayle! :) Simple, non-artistic-trained me response to your great question-- hot press is a little smoother/has less texture and I feel like the water sometimes absorbs into it faster. Cold-press has a little more texture and the water seems to sit on top of it just a little bit more plus it's much more economical. And, totally honest, I prefer cold-press mostly because it's cheaper. ;) It's also easier to get at a big box craft store with a coupon so I don't have to order it online when I run out and haven't planned ahead. And I'm used to how the water and ink move on it. Hope that helps!
I love watching you coloring the stamped images. Those mask frames are awesome. Just a question which color, in the distress ink, do you think could replace the toffee memento ink that you use? Thanks in advanced.
Thank you! I think the closest in Distress Inks that I've tried (and I don't have all the colors) would be Vintage Photo applied lightly or Antique Linen, although Antique Linen has a little more yellow to it.
Thanks for your question. I've had mine for years, but just found some listed here: www.amazon.com/Faber-Castell-Pitt-Artist-Pens-Essential/dp/B004PN8HMG/ref=sr_1_7_mod_primary_new?crid=IM6JJLTJ8RRK&keywords=PITT+artist+pens+journaling&qid=1691430682&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sprefix=pitt+artist+pens+journalin%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-7 Happy stamping!
