I'm with Dougo on the hunting. I live not too far away in Western Wisconsin. We have a small farm by Larson standards and we still drive the woods and swamps. This year we did a little above average on the total with our party harvesting 27 deer. There were two decent bucks shot. The rest were does, one doe fawn, and a bunch of buck fawns. We have a lot of land around us that either doesn't get hunted at all or is only hunted for the trophy bucks. The population is high so we can drive all the deer out of a patch and the next day there are a bunch that have wandered back in there. Every one of them has a stomach full of corn.
The term I have heard for deer in Minnesota is rats with antlers. I worked as an inside sales rep at a John Deere dealership. A coworker who handled the yellow side of JD had worked for a company that rented articulated boom lifts. This one went up to 175'. The maintenance guy asked if my coworker would like to go up. He said sure. They went up to 150' or so, the maintenance guy jumped up and came down, and the basket dropped about 70'. The coworker said he also soiled himself. He asked the maintenance guy why he did that. The answer was he (maintenance guy) needed extra weight in the basket to determine if there was a hydraulic leak. I will take your mud and breakdown rather than the basket ride.
You are so right about deer hunting. Same thing in Wisconsin. Everyone just sits around and do not drive. They are so worried they might chase one to the neighbors property. It was so much fun years ago compared to todays hunters.
When my kids were younger we lived in the country in GA. When the farmers fertilized their fields. My kids would yell Pig Poo whenever we passed a fresh field. It's a smell that you will remember for life. Happy Thanksgiving to the Larson family.
LOVE Dougo’s huntin style! We do the same down here in Virginia along with dogs as well, I love hearing the hounds sing and bird dogs squeal in excitement but I do like taking a walk and making a man drive. Happy and safe huntin y’all!
Chet , we plumbed 3” pipe to the top of our leg & hook up our tanker truck to push water up then we have a booster pump that feeds a water cannon that covers most all the bin site, it works very well but does take a large diesel engine powered pump at the truck to push water that far up but we use the pump to also clean muddy equipment so it’s justified..
Man the miles of walking i did when hunting do drives couldn't couldn't thats we use to sit first day and depending on how many family got depend on if we sit another day or start driving and also if there were many people out depends on what would get pushed around.
Got to love Dougo and his take on everything from deer to putting that board along the grain so it would break ( I know he did that just for the camera, LOL)
Hi Chet, have you thought about mounting a dry riser pipe for the comp air up to the top of the dryer. One inch NPT galv pipe with air fittings at each end. Use Munzing rings to support as they can bolt on and clamp the pipe Then you will only have take a short hose up to the top, or leave one up there.
Thanks for another great video Chet. It was interesting. First of all I want to wish you and the entire crew and Larson family a gracious and wonderful Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃🍽. Enjoy the time with your family and friends. With my blessings. I also wish the deer hunters the best in there hunt for the big buck deers. Hopefully you get one of the big ones. Dougo I agree with you 100% about the way deer are hunted now days. Not much walking the tree lines any more. Most hunters have deer stands and some are pretty fancy. You narrative was good Dougo. Cleaning up the mud after harvest is a big job. Lots of busy work doing all that. Hang in there everyone. Cleaning the dryer parts after running it is a big job also. That chaff is real itchy and dirty also. Not the best job to get done but necessary. Thanks Chet for doing the climbing with the heavy air hose. About it for now. You all have some good days off after a busy harvest. Thanks for everything Chet. You all take care and be safe. Thanks. The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve. My blessings for a Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍽🍁!!!!!’n
We need longer videos Chet, 20 minutes is just not enough Larson Farms content. Don't tell that Zack guy but y'all are my fav farm channel. 👍 Hello from beautiful Southwest Florida 🌴 🌞 🏖️ 🍹
On this Thanksgiving Day, I am thankful for hard working, creative UA-camrs such as yourselves. I appreciate all the long hours and effort that you put into your videos. Happy Thanksgiving
I know how you feel about the hog manure. My brother-in-law raises quite a few hogs & we used to help him when he was going to empty the lagoons out. I would run the agitator & let's just say the aroma was really pungent. Hope the deer hunt went well.
You should get yourself a ruckus rake for your bobcat it would help you maintain your gravel drives as well as other things like grading approaches and ditches. Just a thought.
Dougo get the boys to weld acouple square shaped Us on the under side of the ramps. Just out from the pivot point so when You back onto the ramps the trailer will go down and new braces will toch the ground.
Here in NJ if you own or rent farm acreage you are eligible for extra deer tags each year. Some parts of the State are definitely overpopulated since you can't hunt in the suburbs; too many city folks!! Mostly shotgun and bow harvest, some sections have blackpowder seasons. Biggest problem is finding a deer butcher ...or you have to do it youself!
Happy To see the crops off and tillage done Now you can have a Happy Thanksgiving I really like the philosophy talk May God continue to bless your family 🙏
Chet, about the man basket deal. Lots of us can't afford to pay several thousands of dollars for something we'll only use once a year. Amazingly, there are places around that actually will rent out stuff like that for exactly that reason. Sometimes, you can even just give them a call and lo and behold, they will deliver it right to your door and then pick it up when you are finished with it. You should try it out sometime!
Chet Dougo Broodie Chris that was great enjoyed it great explanations let's get those machines washed repaired and put away we are running short on time great job on dryer tops Chet thank you all for a great video.
Hey Chet i have a suggestion. I used to wac my tractors so the mud wouldnt stick as much. Even if you do get mud on your tractor it comes off a little easier. You can put a coat of spray wax. Could you put wax on top of your bins??
Hopefully you and your family has a great Thanksgiving Holiday. Everyone stay safe in the next few months and Hopefully a good planting season this coming year
Doug you are what is known as a field management manager, and I have said many times here in South Carolina of the deer hunters and game management people to control the deer population down. Actually it saves lives from hitting a deer head on, very bad, thanks for your effort and Happy Thanksgiving to all the crew and to you and Amy...
In talking about deer hunting. My nephews got all decked out in the gear and went out early and low and behold my brother was sitting in his truck fueling the combine and one came walking by and he shot it. So all the preparation doesn't do anything.
I agree i am in southern Ontario and we still do deer drives to control the population of deer. The issues we hsve is there is to many places you just can't hunt. In city limits cemetery park's golf course and private property for the deer to re populate no matter how many we take.
Your goal is what? 0 deer? Define overpopulated? Ever think They're overpopulated because you same idjots also shoot all the coyotes? Pretty much you can't stand anything that isn't human or doesn't make you money I guess
@@AlbertaBoy745 it's typical for people to laugh when they're uncomfortable and can't grasp a concept. I wouldn't call that finding something funny though, I would just call that being embarrassed
Our hunting group push deer in the woods, we got skunked this year unfortunatly. Alot of neighbors still had standing corn so the rumor in the area was that the deer was hiding amongst the corn. Alot if our fellow neighbors also had the same dissapointing outcome, and they all sit in trees too lol
I know what you mean Doug I when I was a kid and I hunted with my mom and dad and my brothers and friends we make drives all day long down through the swamps some of the stuff you wonder how you could walk through and that was in Wisconsin
Just looking how you clean the top of your silo’s, just a thought, would you consider running pipe work from the bottom to the top and have a couple of plug in points with taps/gate valves. This way you just have enough hose to work with up top.
I like Doug's rants! I agree with him!
Dug gave chet the look, and Chet knew he needed to take on the load. I love to see it
Deer drivers were so productive I loved being the dog back in the day . Now I'm just a tree stand hunter for all the reasons you laid out lol
Happy 'THANKS'GIVING Larson Family!!!

Totally enjoyed watching the video Chet 😊😊
I like Chris’ shirt. That should be the official shirt of your 2023 corn harvest in the mud. 😂 Happy Thanksgiving!
Nice new combine
I’ll be more than glad to come help with the deer population
great video...wow...thank you guys
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Rope and pulley, chain and sprocket, winch, plenty of ways to get tools and gear up to the top of the grain bins.
Yeah where has Toby been? Hey cool video. That’s a lot of maintenance on top and around on them silos. Good job Chet. 👍❤️
Guys, Greetings from warm and humid GA, i hope all of yall have a happy thanksgiving and Dougo gets a Deer.
Hey Dougo, if ya need an extra man to take care of some doe next year, give me a shout! I'm over here in Central Minnesota.
Awesome video Chet. There's no price to high for your safety no matter what you're doing. 🚜🚜🚜
Funny how Dougo broke that rib in the nick of time to get out of work. Nice!
Happy Birthday, Chet. Enjoy the deer hunt.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Did anyone else think of Bon Jovi when Chet said "We're halfway there"?! 🤣
You are 100 percent correct. When you get guys to push bush there’s always Deere running out the other end to be taken. I still do it.
good visit
Glad we got a sneak peek of the new S790. No numbers on the side…
Have a happy Thanksgiving to you, your family, and your friends
Happy Thanksgiving Larson family and coworkers
Good show
Good luck hunting!
Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving to every one of you! :) The sharing that you do is one of the things I am thankful for.
Nice to see the new combine. Another S790! I thought it might be an X9.
Thanks for another great video Chet! Enjoy deer hunting and be safe!
Why not add a dedicated air line from the ground up to the top of the dryer?

you should have a steel pipe from the ground to the top the you hook the air compressor bottom and have a hose up there all the time.

I like how you just nonchalantly walk past that shiny tracked S790 in the shop. When do we get introduced to it?
Happy Thanksgiving to you all
Hope to see some hunting video that would be awesome
Should run a vertical hard pipe up onto dryer to plug air into.
Maybe think about hard piping an air supply outlet up there…
Hey Doug that Firetruck would have been pretty sweet to clean off the Dozer AWAY from the farm. LOL
Happy Thankgiving Larson farm family. Wouldn't it be nice if after harvest you got rain to wash everything off.

Dougo usually gets his deer with his vehicles. ;)
well said dougo on the deer
Thanks 👍
Happy Thanksgiving Chet! Love the video. Doug, great advice too.
Be safe hunting and show us the new combine
Dougo, Love your description of Deer Season. You’re spot on. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Amy and the crew.
