    Hiring managers seek project management experience with instructional design positions, mostly in each job description I reviewed. Thoughts/ideas? Thanks for all the informative videos you present and the excellent ID content you develop, Devlin!

    @DevlinPeckYT I've watched a couple of your videos already and I really enjoyed them! I'm thinking of maybe getting into a career in instructional design and I was wondering, what kind of education do most people in the field need? Are we talking a full master's degree and/or a certificate?

    • @DevlinPeckYT
      @DevlinPeckYT  5 місяців тому +1

      Hey! Congrats on deciding to take the leap :D
      From what we've been seeing, a bachelor's in any field is preferred in most cases. Overall, it seems that education doesn't carry as much weight as the hands-on skills/experience, a portfolio, and interview.
      Feel free to check out more of the insights here: www.devlinpeck.com/content/id-hiring-manager-report

    Hi Devlin, thanks for all your great videos and the effort you put into giving realistic and helpful infos! Do you have any experience regarding the differences (e. g. expectations of clients, software used, ...) between the ID field in different countries? Or you you feel it is pretty much the same all over the world? Thanks heaps, Marie

    Thank you so much for this! I never thought about having screenshots and a storyboards as a strong portfotlio piece. Is there any software or resources you recommend (windows) to show off video editing skills/explainer videos.

    African like us transitioning into instructional design really need this.....a$1 is equal to 850 naira at the moment.....
    So imagine paying $600 and covering it to naira 😳😳

    • @DevlinPeckYT
      @DevlinPeckYT  Рік тому

      Yes, costs can certainly add up, especially when you factor in exchange rates and software access. Hope this helps you on your instructional design journey!

    Thanks Devlin.
    Another helpful video.
    Would it actually be better for people that are trying to break into ID to use a Process Write-up instead of building out a portfolio item in Articulate Storyline? I'm thinking people that are new may not be competent enough with Storyline yet to use it effectively, so doing the Process Write-up may compensate for that?

    • @DevlinPeckYT
      @DevlinPeckYT  3 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching! From what we've seen, hiring managers are looking for your proficiency with the tools, as well as your understanding of the ID process. Both are definitely going to be important in a portfolio if you're looking to break into the field.
