My dad used to take me and my brother to Jethro's show. Probably the most wholesome filth you'll ever hear.
Wholesome filth lol! This is the best explanation of Jethro's humour I have ever heard. It would have been perfect for the name of his next dvd.
RIP Jethro.
My dad 1st took me to chubby brown in Blackpool when I was 14 lol
My wife and I knew Geoff Rowe - Jethro - in the real world, for many years - decades, in fact.
He was a lovely, gentle generous man and much conversation always ensued.
You'll like his Cornwall accent, and his humour, Alan.
I saw him many times, but only met him once. I told him I'd been a fan for thirty years, after seeing him on The Zeebrugge ferry disaster appeal video. He was very keen to talk to me about the show and the other artists who took part. We chatted for about ten minutes. A lovely man.
I met him at one of his gigs. As you probably know, he liked to go outside for a smoke in the interval so I went up to him and apologised for being late to the show. He said it was OK and said he was glad we made it. I then said we left on Wednesday to get here on time but the bliddy train didn't stop. He roared with laughter, realising that I'd got him.
(Only true Jethro fans will get that.) Lovely man, died far too soon.
@@petermainwaringsx - yes Geoff was a great supporter of those coming up in the profession, and ready to share insights.
Brilliant! I've been fortunate to see him perform live twice, and a lot of my family are fans. 'What happened was...'
Found the master West Country comedian. True Legend of British Comedy.
I saw Jethro live many times and I met him in 2018. He was my favourite comic, and I miss him so much. You never knew what the punch line would be with a Jethro story. I know many Jethro jokes and am always asked to tell a Jethro story, which must be told with a Cornish accent. RIP Geoff Rowe. ❤
Jethro was brilliant! By the way, the joke about the Jigsaw, in the UK we have a type of high speed saw called a Jigsaw, hence the joke.
We have jigsaws here too. Often see carpenters use them to angle base boards and have used them to do quick rounded cuts you can't do with a regular saw.
I think they may call them 'sabre saws' in the US
My uncle worked for 45 years in a factory where they made jigsaw puzzles. One day they came to him and said they were making him redundant. He just went to pieces.
Jethro is a local and national legend here in the uk. He comes from Cornwal which has a rich mining and Fishing and pirate history ,small hamlets ,villages and towns and is small peninsula on the south west of England. Its where im from . Cornwall and its original population "the cornish" has its own language, not largely spoken these days but the word Cornwall in cornish is Kernow . Famous for pasties, clotted cream, world famous ciders and cheese . Living at the far reaches of England far from London and its government, Cornwall was renowned for piracy and bootleg Rum contraband . Its the land of the myth of king Authur , where pixies and many magical beings of folklore originate as well as ghosts , and sirens of the sea, mermaids ect . Interestingly D day during ww2 was executed from falmouth one of the deepest natural harbour in the world and many of the small creeks and waterways were full of boats loaded with US and other forces who were all stationed all around the area. Falmouth was also one of the staging areas for one of the most daring raids of ww2 where boats were launched carrying what we would call now as delta force or commandos on a suicide mission to knock out a german dry dock which completely knocked a safe haven for the Bismark out of action and the big ship of the german fleet panicked and spent the rest of the war in a Norwegian ford before that was taken out too.
I wonder what you'd say if I asked you what time it is......
Jethro was an Awesome comedian. One of the old school comedians.
I saw jethro twice, ridiculous funny man and insanely kind in real life. Both times he came out before the show started and was talking to people as the theatre was filling
I'm glad you've found Jethro. I think his humour is right up your street.
I've seen him god knows how many times.
Good comedian who is missed by many.
Jethro was an incredibly funny comedian. He used to accentuate his accent, and I loved it.. I never tire of watching him
He didn't accentuate his accent.
@@humptydumpty9177 yes he did.. have you ever heard him speak??
Yes many, many times, I live near where he used to live. RIP.
@@durhamchiefuk9710
@@durhamchiefuk9710yes, naturally his voice was much more West Country and most English speakers would not be able to understand him.
We were lucky enough to see Jethro several times over the years, he was so funny.
RIP to the West Country Legend Jethro. The West Country for those outside of the UK are people from the counties of Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.😂😂😂😂
I can just see you and Jethro in the pub getting drunker and drunker and laughing louder and louder.
My grandmother Roberta (Bobby) used to drink with him in a pub in Bodmin. She always said how he was a genuine nice guy who was the same in person as he is on TV/Stage.
She died around 14 years ago in Bodmin from Cancer but living and returning to Bodmin often from Hampshire over the years to see her and other family in my childhood and teenage years were the happiest years of my life. ❤
Oh yes !! I can't believe your reacting to Jethro finally ! you're in for a treat 👌👏
p.s please react to more of jethro
Sadly missed
Yayyyy...Jethro is brilliant....Look for the ones about his friend Denzil....oops I should have watched until the end...he has loads about Denzil
You looked a little lost with the last joke. Jigsaw puzzle is generally just abbreviated to 'jigsaw' in the UK. He said that his friend bought his kids a jigsaw, by 11 o'clock they had cut all their fingers off.
Yeah he looked a bit puzzled by that one 😂
I saw him live. My ribs ached for days after from laughing!
My daughter bought his dvd's for me every Xmas for years. A lasting gift indeed.
I'm Cornish like Jethro ❤❤ born in the same little village 😂😂😂😂 classic and brilliant total chaos and Legend don't forget Denzil Penberty 😅😅😅😅 plus Slip along Trevaskis 😂😂😂brilliant thanks again
A very unique man and a comedic legend.
Hey, Jethro was one of the finest comedians ever. So many videos about him also Dave Allen, Southern Ireland Comedian absolute legends. Dave Allen Adam and Eve also Dave Allen on flying.
Absolute geniuses.
A British jigsaw is an electric saw where the blade moves up and down. Typical English, two things same name... Hence the punchline.😊
You will enjoy Jethro's humour, once you get used to his accent.
He has an accent?? 🙄🍏🍎👨🌾
Espite being British I only duscovered Jethro a few months ago. Id heard of him just never heard any of his material. Such a funny guy, such fantastic stories and perfect delivery. It made me realise that I hadnt heard comedy that made me laugh so hard in a very long time
I think a lot of Cornish humour stems from Jethro, flew the flag for us for years and years. RIP Jethro you absolute legend
A jigsaw is also a power tool with a fast moving cutting blade. (for those of you who may not know)
I get that whenever someone says "Jigsaw" and I say 'Puzzle...it's a puzzle!'
You need to listen to his Camborne Wednesdays
Classic.
At Camborne train station the information screens said 'RIP Jethro' when he died. I thought this was a nice touch.
At Camborne train station the information screens said 'RIP Jethro' when he died. I thought this was a nice touch.
God bless my friend from 🇬🇧
He's Cornish man!!....very funny guy 😂😂👍
I got the chance to go his shows a couple of times. Probably hardest I’ve ever laughed.
Good video thanx.
In the UK a "jigsaw" also means an electric saw, as well as the traditional puzzle, hence why the kids cut all their fingers off! 8-)
You should take a look at his Camborne train joke, potentially his most well known one
Jigsaw is two things.
A game and a power tool.
Jethro was such a natural story teller. You might like Jasper Carrott as well. xx
THANKYOU so much for looking at Jethro
the last bit in England we call recpricating saws or sabre saws jigsaws back then as the used to cut all sort shapes out would like jigsaw pieces
look up jethro cornish pub joke it a virgin barman joke think you like it
He was the best of the best . Sadly missed.
look up "The heel Tappers & Shunters Club" Old style jokes from all British comedians, Classic stuff.
Ask Squirrel to send you the "best wife joke ever" by Jethro.
That last joke re the jigsaw, it's a type of electric saw in the UK.
Old fashioned English humour nothing like it absolutely brilliant
As a brit my 3 favourite comedians for genuine laughs are in this order.
Jethro
Lee evens
Roy cubby brown
Old Michael mackintie also fits in this list, but his new stuff not do much.
One of my favourite clips of jethro was when he was on the generation game and he and the host lost it over a dyke dish 😂😂🤣
"This........... is a device!!"
I used to live in Devon (EB next county over) I always struggled with his accent.
You have to do find the joke about him and Denzel and the bus.
JIGSAW HAS 2 MEANINGS HERE IN UK, ONE IS A CHILDRENS PUT PIECES TOGETHER TO MAKE A PICTURE AND OTHER IS A CUTTING MACHINE LOL
Your looking well bud, pleased you can understand him, more please.
He has a full special called "What happened was" it's about an hour.
A jigsaw is a electric saw and a jigsaw made fr cardboard or wood. In your country is a skill saw with a little thin blade in our country it means both and it goes through wood like butter not saying that you try to spread anything wooden with butter other than on your toast, you'll bite into it and get splitters from that butter wood
Love mum
Just your sort of comedian I would of thought as well as Chubbs and Ford Kiernan.
That cat story was true but it happened to Liam Neilson, he ran over a cat! When he went out of the car he saw the cat lying flat out next to his car! He saw it move so reach reached for a hammer in the boot and hit the cat to put it out of its mystery! Just then an old lady ran out of her house screaming at him that he murdered her cat! He explained what had happened and she replied No my cat always lays outside the house in the Sun! By this time a few people had gathered around the car and one of them pointed out there was a dead cat stuck to the front wheel!
True Story he told Billy Connelly and Billy told me!
You get him more than any American on youtube ❤❤❤❤😂😂😊😊😊
Jethro is truely loved but can tell the dirtiest jokes and still have your granny laugh her teeth out. Died from covid..rip a legend
Camborne Station Wednesdays joke next please!
Jethro was something different and a sad loss, he would certainly be in my top ten.
the coffee joke was a Kevin bloody Wilson joke, you need
to watch him
Try a look at Jethro 1999 Live Full show...., it's right up your street!!
Glad you liked Jethro 👍❤🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I've always needed subtitles for Jethro
Jethro is an old country boy he has a country accent you have to listen.
If you don't know, he is the 'late' stand up hero as he passed away... last year i think..
Rip to a legend 💯👍👍
Fabulous 😂😂
Omg I"ve seen this guy Live, hes fucking hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jethro is a comedy legend!
If you enjoyed this, then you MUST watch Jethro's ''Norfolk Dyke Dish.'' Brilliant.
Couldn't beat Jethro need to check out Jethro the Cornish Ambassador & 40 YEARS the Joker
You obviously don't understand that a 'jig saw' is a thin bladed woodworking saw that is used to cut fine fretwork and 'jigsaws'
Got to love Jethro.
RIP Jethro. Funny man!
Try this one, well funny, jethro and the peanut in the ear
Jig saw is a cutting power tool.
You didn't appear to understand the jigsaw joke. A jigsaw is either a saw for cutting out shapes or a puzzle of many parts. This man bought his kids the wrong one.
You need to try Sarah Millican. She looks all sweet until she starts lol😂
For a minute i thought you were going to say good clean fun which set me off tittering again.
that jigsaw joke took me a second lol
You did not seem to get the jigsaw joke. When he said a square crisp they are what you call chips.
Americans sometimes call a Jig Saw a Sawzall.
Thank you for doing Jethro , he is a legend of a comedian I love the joke about his mate getting a black eye in church... he's one of the safer choices Bernard manning was quite racist different times back then so not much of his humour would go down well today Roy chubby is ok but it's very smutty and can wear thin at times
There's plenty of Jethro clips on YT. Try 'Best of..' or 'Jethro 1999'...etc
Finally you found him❤
Love the non-reaction to the last joke!
He was Britain's best ever ❤
if you can find it, try Jimmy Jones, the comedian.
The jigsaw part at the end was meant to mean the power tool.
Bought them a Jigsaw.. not a puzzle
You must watch Jethros 3 eggs in a safe joke
It took me thirty seconds to get the jigsaw joke,
Some who is cornish love and miss Jethro cornwall favourite son R.I.P
Have you had a look at league of gentlemen
British comedy
Have a look at jethro with Jim dale on generation game
I know his brother Donald well. I used to go watch Jethro at a local nightclub in my youth, he had strippers come on when he took a break.
Jethro is a legend. Sadly, no longer with us.
Jigsaw, power tool with saw blade
& the west country accent makes it great.
It looked like you didn't get the jigsaw joke at the end? A Jig Saw is an electric saw, and a Jigsaw is a puzzle. His friend bought the wrong 'Jigsaw'.
I know. I got it. It didn't land as well as the first one about the dead cat. I heard jigsaw and then cut the fingers off and was like well, wrong jigsaw.
I am from Cornwall as well.
If you ever get the chance, please visit. You'd like Cornwall.
jig saws are for cutting wood.
RIP JETHRO top cornish jester story teller
I wish I had seen him live.
Gone too soon.
