  • In 1989, the Danish Tournament took place, a friendly competition between teams to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Danish Football Association (DBU). The Brazilian team, under the command of coach Sebastião Lazaroni, was one of the guests - along with Sweden and, of course, the home team.
Lazaroni had to assume a totally alternative team and with athletes from the second division of national football, the result of Brazilian participation would be scarce.
In the first match, defeat to Sweden by 2 to 1. Already against the Danish team, another defeat, now by 4 to 0 humiliating, with a show of the Danish ace Michael Laudrup, who scored two of the goals.
