Ninja Nerds!
During this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will lecture on adrenergic receptors and the organs they will target when stimulated by norepinephrine, and epinephrine. Adrenergic receptors fall under two different categories which include alpha adrenergic receptors, and beta adrenergic receptors. This lecture will continue to build upon concepts learned during the sympathetic nervous system lecture. Please watch the sympathetic lecture in order to understand the concepts presented during this video. Please refer to the relevant lectures below. finding your channel was hitting the jackpot ! I LOVE YOU
He's a star.
True
What is the mean of jackpot?

Very true... I m a Indian... And english is not my first language but his videos are still better than my college proffessors....
Dude, it's a joy to see you explain this, but it's even more of a joy to see you smiling with such passion about it all. I'm smiling with you in equal awe. It's inspiring my man, keep it up.
Great explanation. Thank you
Its his passion!
It's like Prof Zack actually shrinks himself into a tiny being, drive into the body systems and studies whatever is happening there, comes back and give us a report... Because man this is sooo realistic... How many textbooks would i need to go through to understand this 🥲
God bless you Professor 🙏
You've saved a lot of people in the med sch
0:00 is where he defines the alpha/beta receptors
14:54 is where he starts discussing the location of adrenergic receptors
Thanks 👍 that was helpful ☺️
I'm constantly amazed by the quality of this channel. It's incredible to think that people voluntarily produce better lessons than my MedSchool. Congrats and thank you
You are a hero ...
Putting an end to commercial doctors thst dont have time for you.
Wish you health and wealth...keep it up
Thanks a lot, you are awesome ! just one comment to add at 4.37 it is norepinephrine which has higher affinity to Alpha-1 receptor than Epinephrine.
Not at all epinephrine >norepinephrine
Source? @@clintonodinaka6737
@@clintonodinaka6737 No. The guy's right. It's in the textbooks. NE has higher affinity to alpha-1 and epinephrine has higher affinity to alpha-2
Such a gifted teacher, and I would say the same is likely for his behind the scenes partners. Thank you so much for your contributions.
I can't thank you enough for saving me comprehending this topic. You've helped so many students around the world and I hope you continue this unselfish act of teaching. Indeed, you're the gift to the medical education.
YOUR CHANNEL IS ABSOLUTE GOLD !! your videos were so helpful for my physiology exam!!
My pharma lecturer just confuses me, so I seek out your clips and I understand so much better than I did before. Thank you as always for making medical science easy to understand. I have learned so much from you over the years. Thank you again.
Ditto!
by far the best and most detailed adrenergic lecture I've experienced, even professors in med schools stumble through these
What a gifted person. He's probably the ones teaching his own professors!
I would say that no one teaches Physiology better than you do! Thank you soooooooooo much!!
I am so impressed with your extensive knowledge. AND you are very good at communicating it in a very understandable way. For us auditory learners... all I have to do is listen to your lectures and everything makes total sense.
Thank you so much! Would love to see more pharmacology content though!
Can’t thank you enough! You’re the only one capable to enlighten my doubts at once, as given me hope to understand all this. Please, keep doing it! You’re the best teacher ever! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Brilliant! You turn the complicated things into the simple ones.Your passion brings mine back to life! Thank you a lot!
Dude, you are incredibly intelligent. I learn more with you than with any teacher in College. Thank you so much for what you are doing to help us. God Bless!
You are gifted to teach things that most of the people can't. Thanks for the videos.
This video is more than enough sir. Your work is helping us here in Africa specifically Sierra Leone West Africa. Please continue to make the world a better place for the less privileged out there. Thank you very much and may God bless you and your team.
Thank you!!!! You are doing an amazing job for medical students!!!!!
Simply said, you are outstanding in terms of energy and the wonderful way you teach! You are very much knowledgeable and passionate instructor I have ever seen. Thank you so much.
The video is amazing, everything is dealt so lucidly and precisely. Heartly reverence to ninja Nerd Lecture for such great content.
Watta detailed and thorough explanation on why there is a specific location for each receptor! Amazing ! Tremendous patience you have ! It's such a great feeling to find out at the end of each video that it was so logical and easy to remember! Thank you for such wonderful videos! You are a Great Teacher !
bro well done! you earned a new subscriber 3 seconds into the vid! you jump right into it, no time wasted and basically summarized what I hours reading in Costanzo phys book in just 1 hr with a great visual display. thank you!
this is going to save my pharmacology module grade THANK YOU
Holy crap you are the light shining into the dark corners of my brain. You have solved the mystery of the receptors in the body for me. Why couldn’t a rest book simply tell me that beta 2 are inhibitory and alpha 1 excitatory. I cant believe how you made it logical for me. Thank you.
Awesome video! Just to clarify,
A1- in smooth muscles of blood vessels for contraction therefor inhibition and in organs for activating peristalsis such as in ejaculation. In addition to that they increase contraction in sphincters for inhibition,
A2- in Beta, Alpha cells of kidneys, platelets, and neurons.
B1- in JG cells, Nodes, and Ghrelin secretion.
B2- opposite of A1, relaxes in smooth muscles of blood vessels in activated organs for fight or flight. And in organs it relaxes such as to prevent peristalsis. They are also for activation of organs that need to secrete stuff in fight or flight such as salivary glands and liver.
B3- is for adipose tissure and bladder only.
I hope someone clarifies this. Thanks!
a little mnemonics technique: B1 = Heart (1 heart), B2 = Lungs (2 lungs)
@@paulafunesgroverman5179 nice lol
OMG!!!!! Why did they not teach this in my paramedic class!!!! I have a MUCH better understanding of adrenergic receptors now. My new goal now is to change the way paramedic students are taught. If they are taught the why rather than just rouge memorization we will produce much better medics and save many more lives. It makes me SICK when I am on shift studying and I hear a seasoned medic tell me you will never need to know that.
First year PA student here, you're saving my (academic) life. Thank you for making this material engaging and entertaining!!
Can i save your personal life?
I'll always love Ninja nerds and thanks for educating me and many others and helping me in my med school.
Tommrow I’ll have exam on adrenergic receptors , this video really gave me a much more informations and those new research points ; probably no one in my class knows it actually, it gonna give me extra credits to my exams
I know ive said this before in previous comments, but THANK YOU for providing such amazing lectures. You have a real gift!!
Gosh- you are amazing. I have pretty much started watching your videos instead of my class' insanely boring and long lectures then studied my teachers' powerpoints and written material. You make it come alive and make sense. I hope youtube pays you well.
I really enjoy your lectures. You are fantastic.I learn from You a lot. Im a beginner in teaching in UNI in Baltic States, so you can say, that your lectures are used worldwide. Please never stop!!!! Best regards, Hedi
I find it fascinating how differently human brains are created. I'm struggling to follow along with the general direction of this lecture. But the joy this guy derives from every little detail here is apparent!
I don’t have the words to express how grateful I am for you and your videos. Thank you kindly and God bless you for making this most helpful tutorials ❤
I’m a huge fan, currently doing my non medical prescribing course. When the tutor was explaining this my brain started to hurt. You communicate it better.
You are saving my life! Thank you so much from a grateful medical student :)
Thank you for such a wonderful video! You are a Great Teacher ! We really need teachers like you !!❤
Omg thank you very much for the amazing lecture that must have been pretty tiring. That has made understanding mechanism of action of drugs related to the ANS much easier. Bless you!
Thank you SO much for these videos. These are important concepts that I really want to UNDERSTAND not just memorize and you make that possible while also making it interesting, engaging, and fun. As a paramedic studying for critical care, I have found several of these videos to be the PERFECT level of depth. I suddenly understand shock in my patients in a way I didn't before and this has set the stage for me to much more easily understand how various vasopressors work (via another one of your videos of course!). So thank you for producing these, thank you for providing such high quality education for free, and I'm off to check out your memberships because I'd love to support the work you do.
If I'd found this channel while I was still in medical school my grades would have been a lot better. Anyway happy to finally be understanding these things now. Keep it up!
Why what happened did you get kicked out? Cz if you are already a doctor, you should know this.
You deserve all the success in the world❤️.......GOD BLESS YOU ZACH
Been studying for a week pharm drugs and now... in less than an hour... they all make sense! Keep doing what you're doing! Thanks!
I’m glad that I found out your channel. Thank you so much for very clear explanation
you're the best! thank you for your hard work you put into making these videos!!
Hi man, I'm here for reviewing all important stuff for Step 1. Watched your videos while learning the stuff for the first time and now I'm back. Your channel makes 80% of a medical university irrelevant. Thank you for just being there, holding my back. Couldn't image where I would have been if your teaching skills weren't as perfect as they are.
Good quality content and rich detail, nice drawing skills too! I'm studying for the ACEM primary and this stuff is gold.
great video , I particularly like your rational -- when you place receptors at sites with the ultimate goal of flight/fight response --> it makes working from first principles feasible and interesting. thank you heaps
Thank you Ninja Nerd. Your videos are making a huge sense in my education.
I've learnt so much, a lot of my pharmacology is making sense, thank you so much NNScience!
Thank you very much sir. You have solved many problem of students. I really like your lectures because it is descriptive and in a correct sequence .
