- My own attempt to trim Santa Esmeralda's "Don't Let Me be Misunderstood" to just the fun instrumental parts. I have little expertise in editing audio, so still not ideal to me and had to leave out some parts.
I used this as final boss music in a D&D campaign a couple years ago. A huge room, filled with enemies, completely surrounding three guys, and they massacred their way through it. Everybody had a great time. Thank you.
its funny no matter the setting if its a dual with katana wielding woman in a snowy field or a dark fantasy this song seems to fit
I was looking for a instrumental of this song for the same reason, I wanted to play this in one of my DND sessions

Who would have thought latin vibe music will match for a katana fight scene.
But it SO DOES. One of my absolute favorite combinations of music and image in all of the history of film.
I mean it’s done very frequently in anime all the time. I mean in Bleach it’s like every fight against the arrancar had a Latin soundtrack. If the music fits the vibe use it lol regardless of where it’s from

@@thevamprieboy that's what what my reaction initially. I mean a total 180° in terms of cultural aspects yet it is pin point perfect to deliver the emotion. I also put play some spaghetti western when I read Vagabond for its duel scenes
Gonna be completely honest, this version sounds better than the official 16 minute version actually released by Santa Esmeralda. 😂

I certainly appreciate this as an awesome piece of music, alone.
HOWEVER, the use of the section of this song (for the most part) from 2:11 -- 4:18, (and we all know where used) is, to me, one of the FINEST COMBINATIONS OF MUSIC AND IMAGE IN ALL OF CINEMA.
It shouldn't work. But the way the swell of the music is mirrored by the mounting tension in the scene is just astounding.
Say what you will about other aspects of Quentin Tarrantino's directorial style. His knack for envisioning how disparate filmic elements can, and and will work together is just sheer genius.
I so love the instrumental version of this song!

This is a big example for instruments speaking for themselves. They talk louder than any voice could ever do.
I'd say your right this time...but I disagree overall. The right voice is an instrument on it's own
@@screenname6829 Yes it is. But it can also be performed badly and not contribute much to a song at all.
On the other hand, voices are powerful instruments to spread important messages. Voices are very dependant on the person who wields it.

You know one thing i realised upon revisiting this version many years later, it's that this could have made to even better experience if there was some kind of way to edit original vocals by Nina Simone exactly as it sounds in her version into this version, couple of reasons - vocals in her version do not sound cringey and she has actual vocal range unlike pretending in the version of SE where it sounds forced and exaggerated rather than sounding emotional and powerful like it's supposed to sound like originally lol...i think her original vocals on top of this instrumentals would make this song real justice...
