This one is difficult. For everybody. Performing something so emotional for a crowd would be terrifying, but she knows she is loved by everyone in that crowd, and the rest of us at home as well. She's special (all three sisters are) far beyond any rockstar or celebrity status. ❤
Don't cut out a word of your reaction. All of that beautiful rambling is exactly why we love listening to you. You are a beautiful soul, my dear. Oh, and tell your dog we said hi!
I was watching this show on a Facebook livestream. After Pau finished Black Holes and started playing the first few notes of Breathe, I found myself out of my recliner standing in front of my TV like somehow that would bring me closer to being there live. I was so shocked and in total disbelief that she might actually be singing Breathe live. I can only imagine what it must have been like to witness this incredible moment in person. The way Pau can connect with a broader audience through her lyrics and her performance is indeed a rare gift that all of us in TWA are fortunate to bear witness to.
I can't get through listening to the album version of this song without crying, but there are no words to explain my emotions watching her bare her soul on this song live. Thanks so much for reacting to this.
Pau puts all of herself into her art. You can always see it on her face. If you can look closely at the end of some of their shows, especially the bigger ones, her eyes are just shining from the adrenaline. Compare to a view of her before the show and you can really see the difference. All that emotion has to go someplace and out it comes. Ale usually seems to help calm her. Such a passion for her work. Then the crowd honors her by singing along.
Pau is an awesome drummer, singer, songwriter, keyboard/piano player and person!! Absolutely wornderful and emotional moment! She conveys many emotions! Viva The Warning!! ⚡⚡⚡
OMG Pau... I can't with this girl... She rips my heart out every time I see this 😭😭😭 I've seen it at least 50 times with different reactors and get tears literally every time!!
@@spidernose She went from being badass rock drummer to a little girl that just needed a big bear hug from her Dad. I'm sure she had to have gotten tons of love after she ran off the stage.
You described the universality of that lonely feeling when you just want to be all right. And you knew it from the beginning which is fantastic and shows your high level of empathy. I’ve watched this many times and get choked up still. I appreciate your description of her thought process in playing this song. Love to you!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. Pau said she would never perform this song live as it was too personal but they all got sick so she did the song at this venue live for the first and only time and I personally think it broke me and millions more. Absolutely love this band and love them as individual performers. The Warning forever. ❤️⚡️⚡️
For me this song makes me think of the time after losing my mom. All the hurt and bad feelings until one day you realize you had a happy feeling about something followed by an immediate feeling of guilt for not feeling grief for a moment, like it is a negative reflection on her or myself. "Is it so wrong to want to be alright?"
This performance is so amazing and gets to me every time as soon as she starts singing. So emotional and I do not know anyone that doesn't have tears by the end of the performance
The song did get finished, by the crowd. AND I'M NOT CRYING! Who am I kidding, I always cry on this one, which is why it is saved for very rare moments when I need that. It's a very cathartic song and performance.
The Warning are supremely talented. They are rock stars in the very best manner which combines endless practice, professional dedication to their craft, proven performance chops, creatively insightful, musical composition innovators weaving in so many aspects of rock, and demonstrably the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. However, what makes them special is their humanity, their vulnerability and their empathy. Pau epitomizes that in this video in spades.
Simply one of the most beautiful moments I have ever ever seen. To see Paulina break down into tears hurts my heart a lot....grown man just tearing up and falling apart...not ashamed to say it....such a beautifully written song from Pau, she poured her heart and soul out to everyone, she is a special human being for sure. Thanks for sharing this one. Cheers.
Ramble on !!! It's all good !!! Pau is one amazing human... yeah this performance makes a wreck out of me.... tear's flying all over the place ! She is a human "hurricane" strong as F on the outside... but beautiful and loving in the center.
She sang Black Holes before this and (if you see the right video) was somewhat shocked when everyone started singing with her. By the end of the song you can see some of the orchestra getting choked up. She is amazing in her ability to convey emotions through here singing.
Given the time period this song was written and what the song describes, I think (I could be wrong) Pau was writing about dying of Covid. Many millions of people died alone, wanting to be alright and trying desperately, and for many failing, to breathe in their final days. Pau is very empathetic and either she felt their pain or knew somebody who went through this. Given her empathy, imagine feeling the suffering of millions or even one she knew. I can understand it not being something she is able to perform live.
That was one of the most moving moments I've ever seen in a concert. There's only one word that describes what she felt and the audience felt And that is LOVE! To go to a concert and enjoy the music is one thing. To go and to absolutely adore the artists is another. Everybody seems to feel like family.
Once again thanks for not holding back your emotions while reacting. Breathe is normally already a song that has me tearing up but this performance hits extra hard because I was supposed to be there. One of my best friends and I had tickets for this show but unfortunately we never made it from the Netherlands to Mexico due to a series of unfortunate events. Luckily we did get to see them three times this year and we're going for a second attempt to see them in CDMX in February!
This was a bonus track on the LP and agreed upon it wouldn't be done live.A lot of times they will release something for the first time in their home country during a show, this song hasn't been done again not sure if it will because it has to do with a very personal issue with Paulina .Great reaction to a very special track!
Thanks Jessie! There’s one from the same show of Dany doing an acoustic When I’m Alone. And then you stop and think for a minute, this is the same show where they film the Hell You Call A Dream video.
Flowers. Four months ago. You did an reaction to The Warning's *"Hell You Call A Dream" (Live at the Pepsi Center)* music video. *HYCAD* [Hell You Call A Dream] was 9 songs, a video (X Anniversary) break plus a Dany acoustic solo with her personal song *"When I'm Alone".* after *"Breathe".* She (along with her sisters) were still on cloud 9 when *"HYCAD"* was shot.
My understanding is she wrote this song sfter a very good childhood friend had suddenly passed away. This was a sing she qrote for herself. She never planned to share it, but the recod oabel called and they wanted one more so g for the album. This qas the only song that they 15:01 had that was complete. So Pau recorded it and sent it to them. A very emotional and beautiful song.
Thank you! Thank you, sooo much. Your reaction was perfect. I love this song. When you take the time to actually analyze it line by line, it just shows her songwriting brilliance. To put those feelings in just a few words. I love that you wear your heart on your sleeve for us. And once again, thank you for reacting to this.
I have a Husky also. Seven years old and just in case you don’t know, our Husky thinks he’s still a puppy. Their energy won’t slow down. Enjoy your new puppy 🐶
With just 2 notes, everyone in the crowd and all of us watching live online had to pick our jaws up off the floor. No way was she going to perform Breathe.. Yet she did. There were over 8,000 people at the concert and untold thousands watching live feeds.

we have all lost someone, I still think of my brothers and my dad. the lyric "Is it wrong, wrong to feel alright" is perfect. no, it's not wrong. this song could help someone going through possibly the worst time of their life. You can find this song in the album Error.
This song is so personal to her she didnt want to include it on the album. Rhey had to talk her into it. This is probably the only time she will ever perform the song live
You should react to the previous song that she sang "black holes" from this concert or from the Dakota concert a few years earlier. Also another that she sings is a cover of Radiohead called "creep" just her and her piano at home. Highly both are recommended. Great reaction. 😢👍
Huskies will be huskies. 😊 Yeah, that was remarkably touching. I've seen this many times and I still get a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye as she broke. Thanks for the reaction.
When you find out that on top of all you said, She (and her sisters), was incredibly sick at this show. Instead of cancelling, she had a Doctor help her out with a Steroid shot to boost her energy, to take the stage. This show was huge for them, and nothing was going to stop them from doing it. I have an extremely hard time watching this myself, as it opens the floodgates, and uncontrollable emotions are released.
I personally wish they would play more Pau songs live. I understand why they dont - it takes a lot out of her. But sometimes i feel they're not playing their best songs in live sets. Then again it must be hard to choose between so many bangers.
As open as the girls have been about their lives...there has never been any definitive answer to the question "why is Breathe so personal to Pau?" There are a couple of theories, one is that she lost a good friend to suicide and she wrote the song to handle her grief (maybe, maybe not?), the other option is that Pau has a morbid fear of dying (even she has stated that). She is paranoid about not remembering anything, which bring on panic attacks. Is this the reason? Only Pau, Ale, and Dany, and the team know for sure...we will probably never know the real reason. And really its none of our business. The fact she wrote this years ago and she is only 22 is remarkable...shows her stunning intelligence.
Hi, AO! Ready for some crazy philosophy thoughts? Being alive gives us the false impression that we are separate. But we are not. All life, puppy included, is from one consciousness. We are temporarily dropping into these 'separate' physical bodies but our real nature is of the mind of the universe. I believe in reincarnation, but not in the typical sense. There will not be another "me" but I will return as there is an eternal "us". 😵💫💖 Love your work, your mind... and your favourite shirt which seems to have been washed with some other colours.
