He told his wife it was a hybrid, he knows it's not a hybrid but he has to keep feeding the lie
It's the overly-enthusiastic BMW owner guy!
AutoAgitator at least not the douchey one
I'd be overly entusiastic if a had an M240i, love that car
Owner doesn't know his own car...Hybrid lmao
Ryan Tornai i almost believed it too.
yah lol but LIGHTNING BOLT!! lulz.. also a 240i owner almost 2y now and used eco like 3 times??? this guy hasnt figured out that eco suspension is same as comfort, and that u can configure sport to have comfort suspension ... who buys a 240i and uses eco haha his 27mpg in eco is only 2 better than i getting 25mpg in sport so yah living in mushy slushville is totally worth it!!!
@@jaysmith6466 For the 4 years I have had my 135 i I have driver everyday with sport on and traction off.

Regardless of the owner being a bit confused, these are great cars. You can tell that Mr Regular really liked driving it. I had an M235i for 3 years and loved it. The 2 series is a throwback to the smaller, lighter cars that BMW used to make.
it's not a hybrid hahaha turn off the computer
There is no electric engine in that car... unless you count the alternator.
Yes it just charges just the battery its designed to charge it when your coast (off the gas) so that:
1. It stops The alternator putting the engine under load when you go back on the gas so it has maximum torque
2. When driving around it makes the engine more efficient because the energy is shared by the kinetic motion of coasting and the engine to drive the alternator
@Lassi Kinnunen lol even my x5 has that "REGEN" but it not electric
Well, I'd say the starter motor is closer, still doesn't qualify as a hybrid.
Hybrid, regen braking? I own one of these, wonder why I didint get the tax credit. Oh yea because its 100% not a hybrid. Ill have what he is smoking.
Philip Parana yea see the confusing thing is the car does regent electricity. In the mpg gauge it has the battery refill icon. But I don’t know why it generates electricity
Agreed, i saw and read every review on this car [even in german] before buying it, almost 2y ago, and this guy has figured out something every other reviewer missed.. some secret BMW is keeping??? hahhaa he doesnt even know what kind of turbo it is, yes its single, but twin scroll so it can spool up low and keep going thro rev range.. ahh BMW u so sneaky.
Maybe hybrid, in the sense that it's not 100percent M but a M package.
I have the 340xi. I’ll call it a “mild alternator” and
Josh Lum Most modern BMWs have this. Basically they are fitted with an alternator that provided the battery is charged enough can stop charging the battery to save on driveline losses and charge under coasting or braking. I have a 2018 340xi and personally I think it is a gimmick. I can’t perceive any more engine braking when this meter is active. I will say that the battery in the trunk is the largest of any car I’ve had to date. Therefore, with auto start-stop enabled in eco mode you can sit for quite some time with the engine off.
review got pulled. corrections incoming, lmao.
Loll I was wondering
new video is up with apology and explanation
Owner is quite confused on how an alternator works....
From autoblog: "Even so, BMW decided to include its EfficientDynamics technology in this fiery sports coupe, which includes a mild hybrid system with automatic stop-start and an clutched alternator that runs mostly during coasting. It also includes a more economical drive mode called Eco Pro".
I blame this owner for even mentioning it.
Slips it in: “WOW THATS SMOOTH AND VERY SMOOTH”
That 160bpm turn signal indicator.
Croaker This thing has a weird looking badge for being a Toyota
BMW figured the owners wouldn't notice.
@@nap8187 wdym
I just love that the owner goes to cars and coffee, presumably, and tells everyone his M235i is a hybrid
Great: Started explaining "PA Dubbers" but never finished.
To the owner from a fellow b58 owner with m performance
1. Manual sports mode gets the best performance
2. It not a freaking hybrid
3. It doing engine breaking and you should have shown him rev matching
4. They make snow tires which are affordable for a square setup while the none square is an arm and a leg
5. Your car has 375 hp because you have the mppsk flash all m240i and any 340i with the mppsk has a higher rating
6. Sports plus just limit traction control to fully disable you hold for five seconds but it freaking pointless after launch.
7. The make a four door, it called the 340i mppsk from 16-18 and now they have the m340i for 2019. You also can get the mx5 which is the SUV or the 740i (but I don't recommend it because the car too heavy for that engine)
8. Stop start can be completely disable even in eco mode
9. The one series can be a whole separate topic but they did make them here for awhile with the older n55 engine
Aside from the hybrid hiccup, a lot of the information here is still lacking:
-While it does have adaptive suspension, it isn't magnetic like you'd get in a Z51 Corvette or Ferrari. There isn't a dramatic difference between modes, the car is fairly stiff in any mode
-There are only two modes for suspension, either "soft" for Eco/Comfort, or "hard" for Sport/Sport+. It doesn't get progressively stiffer as you go from Sport -> Sport+ nor does it go softer from Comfort -> Eco .
-The car doesn't accelerate faster in Sport/Sport+, the throttle mapping is just more sensitive than Comfort. All Sport+ does is let you spin a little bit more than Sport
-They didn't flick the transmission lever to the left into "Sport" for spirited driving. The "Comfort" transmission in the default position is sleepy as hell. Out of any setting, flicking the transmission into Sport will wake the car up more than anything else
The PA Dubber is also seen in MD, usually people that work at (or frequent) the vape shops that have vape stickers and merch on everything they have.
As I also own this model, to clarify.....the car DOES have something like a snow mode that the owner is probably not aware of (frankly not surprised). It's called traction mode. You put the car into comfort or Eco and then hit the traction button to activate it. Let's not get started on this "electric" thing, lol
Guys. Some manufacturers literally call the auto-start-stop a "mild hybrid". It's not a hybrid in a Prius sense, but it is technically correct somewhat.
No, auto stop start does not mean a car is a hybrid. Words have meaning even if you don't agree or understand them.
@@bassandtrebleclef But he did mention in the review part it was a full hybrid providing the low end torque etc so he had to change it
@@kayEnt3rtainm3nt lol, this is not a pzev vehicle.
Dammit- The regular review went down... guessing Mr regular got a fart-fact wrong?!
>For you guys that think you want an e36, you don't; you want this.
Sir, I have an e36 and it is exactly what I want. Then again a gt35r is going in in the upcoming weeks... The N54 was what got me into the brand, the M52tu is what got me into a bmw, and the OBD1 M50tu is what got me to actually do the work to make it what I want in terms of power even if I did have the parts for the M52tu. For what it's worth the S50 cams spin my tires all the way up to 80mph before it grabs and goes, yes my tires are bald but I wouldn't trade my e36 for anything in the world.
Also if you want a good four (technically five door) alternative to the 2 series, look at the 440i Gran Coupe. It's the perfect BMW sedan
I own a non xdrive version M240i, so much fun! Doesn't have all the bells and whistles my BMW 550i have: head up display, soft closing doors, power trunk lid. Very basic, a true driver's car.
I was halfway through the RCR of this car and the video just dropped off UA-cam. what happened?
Seradhe Owner gave Mr. Regular wrong information about his car; it isn’t a hybrid, so he’s having to change the script.
The review got taken down

go to bed mr regular
Dude, this is crazy funny. .. might add that the 2019 M240I Xdrive is FASTER than the M2 until 80 mph. . .so launch away!
The m240i dosent have any mild-hybrid system on it
What happened to the review though?? I saw it in my feed but was it not ready or something?
So its got a similar electric alternator situation that the Rams etorque has? That's kinda what this sounds like to me
Nice! The new Supra engine
Very kool video. Gives you a indepth look
If were talking best BMW you can buy without breaking the bank, the old 1 series coupe is the best. I was the last BMW they made that had a i6 in the base model, and the 135i can make some serious power with some minor modifications.
I feel like Mr. Regular would be friends with this guy in real life 🤔
Uh where’s the review?
Do a Buick Enclave(older affordable one), such a 'regular car'.
Maybe you can in the US, but I didn't think the 240i came with the X drive option? Here in Europe you can't get either the 140i or 240i with 4 wheel drive.
They do, you can even get a m240 xdrive.
What happened to the review?
Two beards and a BMW mmmmmmmmm. Lol
This is like a new e46 or e36 beautiful
This bmw owner is true definition of shameful display, knows nothing about his car... even none-car guys know this isn't a hybrid.
So much bimmer angst! I'm feeling a bit douchey myself...
Why is the pov video before the review? 🤔
Review got pulled bc incorrectnesses
Where is the electric engine? R u sure?
It makes me happy that the guys that know the least about their cars own the most expensive ones
MOAR SUPRA THAN NEW SUPARAAH
Should I get this car in manual RWD or Xdrive automatic?
If you have the option go for a manual they need sales to stay relevant and they are much more fun to drive.
More POV drive vids pls.
Notification for the POV video, none for the regular review.
Alastair Ward it’s up now
@@calvinhobbes6646 got the notification that afternoon (UK time).
Re-upload
The owner seems very...... BMW
instead of an e36 m3 get an e92 n54
They have this in manual?
You can get the RWD M240i with a manual transmission. The xDrive version is automatic only.
Did anyone watch review before it got pulled out? Did he make mistakes and doing corrections or H O T D I C K S finally got him demonetized?
Speaking of, why Avenger got pulled out?
CreatureOutOfTime I watched it. There was nothing to push the envelope in it. It was done pretty straight. I think it was just the factual inaccuracy of it not being a hybrid that caused RCR to yank it. (I haven’t seen the update yet )
@@MyDailyUpload oh okay. Thanks. I literally saw review in the list but went watching Tupolev airplanes first and hour later... Xd gone
I feel sorry for a guy who would drop this much green on a beautiful car and settle for that 8 speed ZF slushbox.
Why does the interior look so dated? BMW needs to step their game up
Just because it doesn't have a 16" touch screen doesn't mean it looks dated. Its simple and well designed.
Is that pewdiepie?
SIN
Automatic transmission...
This dude need more leg days tbh
ummmm no
We do not speak of pa dubbers...
Any real BMW REQUIRES a clutch
UHHHMMM No.
This guy must be Trump's top intelligence officer
Hybrid my ass lol
I was gunna get this over my civic glad I didnt thing was so basic for a bmw
I was originally going to comment on the review video, "This is by no means what I would consider an alternative to an STI. This is yet another two by two sport coupe with useless back seats for nearly $10,000 more. If you dropped $10,000 into the lap of an STI owner, can you imagine what they would come up with at the end of it? It would make this BMW piss its pants. And this is coming from someone who does not constantly sing praises of the STI. Personally I think it's in dire need of a heavy redesign. I actually went for the 2 liter in '15."
@s flaherty Not that I like to quote car magazines, "As with the rest of the 2-series family, rear-seat space is effectively limited to children and small or flexible grownups, certainly so if there’s an average-size adult needing legroom up front." ~Car and Driver I've been in plenty of cars like this (and owned a couple). Usually the seats are only there for insurance purposes. The fact of the matter is, if you want the interior room that the STI would provide from the start, you would have to look to the 3-Series. If you wanted all of the features and performance of this M240i xDrive, the M340i xDrive bumps the starting price another $3,000 at least.
This guy is typical "BMW driver." He pretends/wants to be car enthusiast but he isn't one. I think the major difference between "BMW Car guy" and auto enthusiast is that auto enthusiast view cars as their toy, one that he or she really loves and likes playing with while these Bimmer owners still views his car as an luxury good.. like how people view their Gucci clothes and Prada bags... people think they are into fashion when they buy these things but yet they don't actually enjoy them for "fashion" but instead enjoy them for statue and reputation that comes along with it. Owner has so much misinformation about the car, but he is enthusiasistic about it and among his friends and co-workers his knowledge would have been enough to give him statue as a car enthusiast... But he isn't one, there are much higher bar you have to pass to be an auto enthusiast, you actually have to care and care to know about car.
Lastly - I want to correct one more error made by the owner, not all adjustable dampers are magnetic ride dampers.
Most sports cars now n days have an automatic because it's actually faster than a manual. So all the comments about how it should be manual are mostly just butt hurt cause "manual is life REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
Or people simply like to switch gears.
@@WARXion you can use sportronic to switch gears...
@@pineappleoverlord9k462 I had my first auto last year, I sold the car within 6 months out of sheer boredom and bought another manual. Never again, the paddle shifters are no substitute for the pedal and shifter.
PineappleOverlord9k No. most comments wanting a manual are from people who have more fun driving manual. What’s your deal?
Guy I know bought a boring used BMW and brought it to the shop and some of us went to check it out. Huge BMW douchenugget hears the letters BMW and comes running from across the room to go outside and tell us how great his car was and what he'd done to it. Thankfully douchenugget gets totally ignored and slinks off all sad that he didn't get any glory. Some BMW owners are decent human beings, but a good number just need to get bent.
Lol yeah fuck anyone showing real enthusiasm for their car 😂 what models were they talking?
I meam its not like he bought a new one and he still got a good car. Let him live and enjoy his car. If it was a boring one it was probably cheap
Surprised either of these two know how to drive anything more powerful than an electric toothbrush
Shave the beard if you can’t keep from fucking around with it endlessly! Arghh!
P.S. Not a hybrid.
Real BMW means BMW with manual w/ clutch
