At least they don't show their faces (smart move when spouting stupid crap), they clearly write scripts for their videos, and they have some kind of production quality. They're still nonsensical idiots, but smarter than this... apologist? This guy is brazenly admitting he's poorly educated and it's showing throughout.

(9:28) Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, o that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you." Here is the other side of that verse, Deuteronomy 21:18-21 "If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. They shall say to the elders, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.” Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid." In all my years in Church Culture, I have NEVER heard preachers equate these verses. I might be wrong, but there might be a correlation. Nevertheless, getting stoned to death means you will not live long on the Earth.

When the ignorance is so thick, you can taste it. It's bitter and unpalatable for anyone with more than two neurons to rub together.
What would inspire this person to admit he barely made it out of high school. Not exactly building your credibility, dude. Some religious folks, like my father, wear their lack of intelligence like a badge of honor. Why? Beats me.
On a fun side note, I had the... privilege... of meeting someone the other day that nearly opened with "I'm a flat earther." My brain just stopped and my fury gripped me. So I said the first thing that came to mind: "Bless your heart. Who's putting your pants on in the morning?"

Human beings are bundles of contradicting beliefs and practices. We rationalize it in many ways, but I think we can't really help it, completely. I've seen only one possible exception, afaik, and he thought he was a soldier in God's heavenly army. One of the core principles he lives by is "be consistent with your words and your actions" and he took that seriously. Unfortunately, he missed the fact that his god didn't follow the same principle.

    2. Frogs - amphibians are the first to notice changes to the water (see 1),
    3. Lice - pretty sure it to do with heat/ash,
    4. Flies - same as 2 but as are less sensitive compared to frogs/amphibians so are slower to react,
    5. Livestock pestilence - Contaminated water will cause failure of immune systems etc,
    6. Boils - generic volcanic symptoms,
    7. Thunderstorms of rain/hail - generic major volcanic activity,
    8. Locusts - destroyed ecosystems cause the locusts to try and find new food sources where cities are perfect,

There are elements of what he said that are somewhat true, but that's often how stereotyping works.

Did you come about that opinion when you were reading "Adam begat Seth," "Seth begat Enosh," etc, or in Numbers when there's census data?
I did read a Children's Bible as a kid, and while I may not have been as critical then, I did enjoy the narratives in there... but they definitely cut out the boring stuff, not to mention at least some of the more egregious stuff. I don't recall Lot's daughters having, ahem, unreciprocated relations with their father in that version.
I will clarify, I didn't believe anything I read. I thought it was interesting mythology, and I compared it to the Hercules television show that was airing at the time, too. Kinda funny, considering the actor for Hercules is a hardcore Christian.

"We see Creation all around us."
    "Wrong. We do not."
Technically neither of those statements are justifiable. He's begging the question that "everything around us" was created and therefore can be called, "creation," but only offers a fairy tale as direct evidence.
However, to say he is wrong is to take the affirmative position that it was not created.
Obviously, we only see natural forces and processes at work *now* but it's a non sequitur to go from there to "therefore, it's not created."
Christianity isn't the only game in town. What if pantheism is correct? A more general creative act? We can't _technically_ rule that out.
However, not being able to rule those out isn't to say it's _plausible_ that everything around us is creation. How could it be when we have no data to support that idea?

We have no reason to call it "creation". Until we do, it is not a "creation".

To say he is wrong is to say he has insufficient warrant to for his claim. Reading more into a word than can be justified hinders communication.

@@zemorph42 That isn't what "wrong" means. "Wrong" means, "in error," not simply, "not justified" or having "insufficient warrant."
2+2=5 isn't just something you don't have warrant for. Its result is incorrect according to the rules of maths.
I spelled out your other point so we're in agreement on that. Well as I read it again, you said, "it isn't a 'creation' when you should say, "there is no reason to think it's a creation," or something similar.

@@RustyWalker Making unjustified claims is being in error, even if the claim happens to be true.
"Understand that unsupported assertions have no more credibility than claims that have already been proven wrong. So if you can’t show that you’re right, you’re not. There’s no benefit of the doubt. There’s just doubt. You have to provide a reason to believe you. If you don’t have any evidence, there’s literally nothing to talk about. So your inability to provide sufficient reason to consider your position is your failure effectively proving my point without me having to do anything." - Aronra

it's not the point but i'm glad to hear someone admit that the bible is at least a good body of literature. it's stuck around for 3000 years for a reason. there are very few books from around that period that we still read. i've never understood the point of pretending that it's not a very entertaining work
