thanks for clarification.....I was getting pretty frustrated having you refer to it several times, but never saying what it was. I don't know which it will be, but I do know that you definitely should watch the cover of When the Levee Breaks (Zeppelin) which was produced by JPJ of Zeppelin.....It is marvelous......
@@barsandbarbells2022 I haven't shown you guys some love, except subscribing, etc. Your reactions keep getting better, and more natural. Keep up the good work! IDK how you select your content but you are doing fine.
Warren Haynes has his own band, called Gov't Mule, and they are GREAT....especially live. Southern rock, blues, blues rock...covers of Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Zeppelin. If they ever tour near where you live, you should go. You wold LOVE it!
This organization (and song) are simply amazing. The sole purpose is to give people around the world a chance to experience and understand music having built several schools around the world to achieve just that.
John Densmore is the drummer from the Doors and the two guys with the last name of Neville were part of a soul/funk/blues/jazz band called the neville Brothers. I love the playing for change series of videos. Another connection is that Jimi had cherokee heritage, so having the native american singers and percussion adds another layer to the song.
I do enjoy this Playing for Change but my favorite will always be The Weight...the 50th anniversary of the song by the Band written by fellow Canadian Robbie Robertson...all of them have a real cross section of talent from all over the world!!
Warren Haynes has been one of my favorite musicians. Great singer, great guitar player.... Dude is talented. I had the luck to see the Allman Brothers Band featuring the Derek Trucks band when I was 18 and it was mind blowing.
Great reaction, Sam and Phil! I love the idea of different voices, styles, and instruments playing songs I recognize. I've listened to a couple other Playing for Change videos and they are amazing!
I've been a fan of Warren since the early 80's. I heard him playing for David Alan Coe back then, and his guitar playing caught my ear. Been following his career ever since. One of my all time favorite guitarists and vocalists. Y'all should really check out his band Govt Mule. The songs Endless Parade or Mr High and Mighty are some great tunes to listen to. All of their songs are great.
Ive seen Warren over 100+ times..i.e.Gov't Mule/The Dead/Allmans/Warren Haynes Band/as special guest for other artists/etc.etc...AND HE "NEVER" FAILS TO IMPRESS!
Warren played with government mule, before the Allman brothers. As you can see (well hear) he is a beast on guitar. His work woth Derek Trucks while they were with the Allmans was exceptional. I've never really listened to government mule, but the Beautifully broken/when doves cry is superb.
@helenespaulding7562 yeah Derek is the nephew of Butch and joined the band when he was still a young man. His slide work was documented by the time he was 12 and 15 years old, and I think he was still in his 20's when I saw a clip of him playing with the Allmans with Susan doing a vocal sit in. I'm pretty sure that he played with them until after his marriage, though I don't really know when the TTB was formed.
@helenespaulding7562 I So on a short scan it looks like the 2010s. I'm going to go deeper, because I know Derek at least sat in earlier, but UA-cam has clips of them together at least as 12/3/2011 playing mountain jam
Had not heard of PFC or this cover, thank you for sharing this on your channel. Very well done! Though Jimi's cover is the most well known and played often on classic rock radio, Dave Mason's cover of this tune is superb. Studio version and Midnight Special performance can be found on YT.
Good job people. I think John Paul Jones from led Zeppelin, started this. Please have a listen to when the levee breaks, playing for change. My favourite so far, they are all awsome though. Enjoy your comments, keep up the good work, 😊.
Warren Haynes worked on a side project in the mid 90s called Gov't Mule. Two of my favorite songs by them are Beautifully Broken and Mule with guess bass player George Porter Jr.
Warren Haynes is one of the greatest guitarists alive. He essentially continued Duane's role in the Allman Brothers Band somewhere along the way (and added vocal to complement Gregg). Check out his current band, Gov't Mule
@tomratcliff3755 i believe you are correct in the later years. I saw them in concert (I think it was in the 90's) when both Haynes and Betts played together. But, who knows, my mind may have been altered then ✌️
@breakingdad8 I concur. The variability of time is one of the constants of life. I'm listening to Mountain Jam from 12 2011, and Derek isn't playing slide, but I know I've seen him playing slide in the band when he was in his teens. Too bad I have to stop and listen to so many clips while I try to remember what I'm looking for.
@breakingdad8 makes sense I see Warren joined like 25 years ago. I'm going to spend the rest of the night with this. I got to see ( well hear) the Allmans at Watkins Glen with the band and the Dead, so I'm looking forward to catching up on what's happened in the last 50 years.
@breakingdad8 I just watched Warren playing slide in 2011,with Dikie on lead. I think that Derek joined the band around 2020. I do remember seeing a clip where he sat in, while still a kid,but I can't find it right now. I think right now it's past my beer time and you're right, it's not worth the time to be exactly right. It's time to just enjoy.
Check out "Soulshine" live, with allman brothers, to see Warren on one of his own, best, songs. FYI, Warren and Derek Trucks (now of Tedeschi Trucks Band, with wife, Susan Tedeschi) took on the guitar duties, later in the band's existence.
this is the nice thing about making music today. U can do with anyone be they any place on Ma Terra and u be any place else as long as u have then net... I know so of u kids hate when ppl use "..." but how else is one to say in a very simple way and now what do u think is going happen. And so I wll use it to say this. Now back to music I can but wish we had this 40 50 yr ago. All we could do is particle apart do a dress and then play for ppl just one time. Ya did that more than once.
Niice reaction. Warren is a local boy, grew up a few miles down the rd. I have no idea how many times I have seen him, especially in the bars before he left town. One thing Warren does that is cool is he puts on a show called the Christmas Jam since 1992 or 93. Its a benefit for Habitat for Humanity. It is a 3 day event now and over the years there have been some amazing players show up. Here is a partial list: The Allman Brothers Band, The Avett Brothers, The Doobie Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Peter Frampton, John Paul Jones, Ray LaMontagne, Steve Miller Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band. This year because of the hurricane it has been postponed till later in 2025.
This was cool as F! Loved it. I've been collecting some random suggestions.... Search the You Tube search feature using these terms... 1. "Unbelievable Version of Walkin' Blues Joanna Connor Band" 2. "truck flips over during police chase, keeps going" (Short 52 sec version is fine.) 3. "MOST UNBELIEVABLE RUN OUT EVER?!! 8 Ball Pool By Chris Melling!" 4. "The Black Swallow Of Death - Eugene Bullard" (Fat Electrician) Amazing Story! Cheers.
So many famous people on this track, and you guys are a bit to young to realize it. John Cruz, maybe one of the most famous musicians in Hawa'ii. John Densmore (the doors) on drums. The NEVILLE brothers !! , Warren from government mule and the Allmans bro's.
You two should really watch George Carlin.....He's relevant 30 years ago and is relevant today....you know what I mean when you watch him.....start with 'Climate Change' bit...
LOL. That guy got the lyrics wrong "None will level on the line nobody of it is worth" just gibberish. Not he original lyrics. Jeez, it couldn't be that hard to look up the actual lyrics and not the crap the Jimi mumbled.
For clarification, we haven't released our other Playing For Change video yet but it will be up within a week!

I think the term is worldly for me. It feels like it brings all the people of the world that appreciate this song or artist or music genre.

a super fan! I can see why......they are great, live...
It's always better when Warren is in/joins a band. Incredible talent.
Kudos to whoever edited this and put it all together. It's seamless.
The Drummer " John Desmore " is the Drummer from the Doors
Warren played with government mule, before the Allman brothers. As you can see (well hear) he is a beast on guitar. His work woth Derek Trucks while they were with the Allmans was exceptional. I've never really listened to government mule, but the Beautifully broken/when doves cry is superb.
Got't Mule is great. if you can see them live, you should.
He worked with Derek Trucks? wow, cool. great factoid to tuck away. Didn't know Trucks had been with the Allmans.

Hi Guys You missed the drummer for the Doors. John Densmore on drums.. ofc. Nice reaction..
when the levee break and the weight are other good playing for change episodes
Warren was in The Allman Brothers from the late 80's through the end of the group.
John Densmore the Doors drummer!

The Biopic about Bob Dylan, A Complete Unknown, should be opening soon.
beautifully done Best yet

Not a side project now. They tour every year since he left Allman Bros.

@@breakingdad8 wait, I thought he was doing Dickie Best's role as lead and Derek Trucks was doing the slide. Hit me back

OMG it's John Densmore!!! The Doors!!!
Two riders were approaching, and the wind began to howl ...Straight from the Bible
I believe you reacted to The Allman Brothers doing “Soulshine”. Warren wrote it, and plays on it.
Check out "Soulshine" live, with allman brothers, to see Warren on one of his own, best, songs. FYI, Warren and Derek Trucks (now of Tedeschi Trucks Band, with wife, Susan Tedeschi) took on the guitar duties, later in the band's existence.
