Exactly he disgusts me!!! Anna was practically forced into sleeping with him!! He threatened to work Owen and Gary working with him until they lost every penny
Owen: “But he, he forced himself on you yeah?”
Anna: “no…it was one time Owen…and I let him”
She said directly that he didn’t force himself on Anna. We know he did, but from Owen’s perspective you can’t blame him for also seeing it as cheating based on her words

But I think you'll find it is what Phelan did to Anna.
He blackmailed her into bedding him. He forced her to sleep with him. And what that all means is that he raped her.
What Phelan did to Anna was rape. She had to endure the worst kind of ordeal anybody would suffer just so her family wouldn't suffer anymore blackmailing ordeal from that monster.
If I were Owen I'd have comforted her over the rape. I'd tell her none of this is your fault. I believe you. And I will continue to love and support you whatever happens from then onwards.
However, the way Owen viewed Anna's ordeal as betrayal is just as horrific as what Phelan did to her. That is because Owen saw the matter as betrayal and not an ordeal - just totally disrespectful and ungrateful if I say so myself.
Phelan truly destroyed Owen and Anna beyond repair here.
