I planted AGV249 in 2024 and it matures so fast. It has big grains but it does not tiller. You must put in more seeds per acre than other varieties. I liked it especially in Laikipia West
We have been doing Njoro 2 in Nyandarua. The el nino rains this year were too heavy but we managed a harvest slightly over one quarter of what we expected compared to its past performance.
Hello I am a farmer in Nanyuki planing to grow wheat for the first time and I need some advice. Which is the best variety to plant here and where can I find it? I would also like to have your cantacts for more consultation. Thank you
@@angkamau2934 OK good luck! I am a relatively new farmer and have planted Njoro2 previously. I can't find Njoro2 seeds in the market right now, reason why I'm thinking of going for Impala.
Any advice on where we can get the certified seed for these varieties? I'm informed that KALRO lost all its seed fields to "el nino" flooding. And Kenya Seed are currently offering only Njoro II in Uasin Gishu. I'm interested in trying Kasuku this 2024 season.
The best thing to do first is to ask the local CIMMYT office in Ghana; they might have varieties which are more suited to your region. If not they might be able to assist in importing Certified Seed through the local regulations.
Very resourceful content, though have not heard you mention about a wheat variety known as kenya hawk that we plant in Moiben and it does so well
I have planted Kasuku this season in Nakuru. Will post results. Thank you for the insights, appreciated.
Great content. I love farming. I'm planning to try Impala in Ol Joro Orok in Nyandarua this year. I hope it's going to be fine.

I have hyrax and impala seed which is the best seed of the two for Nyahururu
Did you get an answer to this question? Would like to know as well.
@@12NWN no I didn't
Oh ok. Which variety will you be planting in Nyahururu? Hope it's ok to ask here.
@12NWN am planting Njoro 2. This my first time planting wheat, so the advice I got from a seed company is to plant Njoro 2.
