That John Higgins image of arms in the air is a crucible classic for all times
Totally agree!!!
If you say so in our quick fix social media trend obsessed society
Absolutely
@@oddities-whatnot Calm down old man.
@@oddities-whatnotdead right, bring back the days we carved pictures into the wall of our caves. World's gone mad
I could not believe my eyes when he took on that double and cleared up afterwards. One of the most exciting frames of snooker I've ever seen
Um tetra campeão mundial é... um tetra campeão mundial.
Não é um jogador bom, ou muito bom, não, é um tetra campeão mundial. 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷
Primeiro do mundo, lenda ........ Ronnie O'Sullivan
Segundo ................................... John Higgins
Terceiro .................................... Stephen Henry
Quarto ...................................... Mark Selby
Quinto ...................................... A definir ainda
Essa é uma análise de quem vê sem paixão nacionalista, de um brasileiro que sabe o que é lutar numa mesa de sinuca.
Why are you so shocked? No clear or easy safety and he is amazing at doubles.
I"m sure M.Selby will play safety at this situation .. lol
John Higgins is a gambler absolutely
Also, its an absolute pleasure to see Mark Allen playing so well especially after his transformation. He was calm and full of grace even after the defeat.
My father doesn't watch that much snooker however when he saw that this was going to a decider he went to sat down with me on a living room in the couch and I was able to go through the emotions with my older man... Lovely moment I had there with him
What a nice moment You got to spend with Your Dad.A memory that will stay with You forever.Enjoy Your weekend.
This was the most incredible astonishing break I have ever watched live… I could feel my heart beating through the whole time and can hardly breathe even during the color clearance… Higgins is my favorite player ever and I am so proud of being his fan…
Literally same I just was praying he didn't miss and cheered after the black.
share your feelings mate.
Rightfully so. Higgins is by no means my favourite but maximum respect for an outstanding performance. He was unbelievable under immense pressure and with a never say die attitude. Nobody else could have done it.
Dennis Taylor & Stephen Hendry were immensely phenomenal in these pressure moments. The commentary was excellent.
Hendry is the best commentator for moments like this! The way he reads the game and understands the weight of pressure in moments like this is class…it’s no wonder why he was such a relentless winner. Enjoyed him and Dennis Taylor tonight
Agreed 100% they both know when to talk and when not to. sometimes Less is more.
Far better than Joe Johnson and the other joker on Eurosport.
@@alanchamberlain9902for some reason I can’t stand Eurosport…from the commentary to the studios stuff with that host Radzo who gets on my nerves. BBC is top quality for me
@@SportsFan0027 Agree Radzi and the commentary are awful. I don’t mind Jimmy and McManus but scrap the rest like Dave Hendon and Phil Yates painful 😂
Yes!
Stephen is nearly as good a commentator as he was a player. No showboating. Just smart analysis and honest thoughts. And Taylor is charming.
So happy for Higgins. He's had some tough defeats and at times looked like he wasn't capable of this pressure anymore. Reeling back the years. Best clearance I've ever seen live.
And he's also a cheat, most snooker fans will never support him. Mark Allen was the real winner
1:38 "He's not looking at the double on the red"
He sure was and made the double of the season
What those watching may not realize is the frame John won before this was just as incredible.
You're absolutely right. Two astonishing clearances in a row.
100%…that green 😍😍
thanks for the tip off. I'll check it out.
100% I mean if not just as vital!! All he wanted was at least to force it to a decider!! Two incredible frames!
Absolutely wonderful. Hasn't managed to do this in a while, but in his peak he was always doing it. The double was pure guts and that final red was majestic. He should be very proud of himself this evening.
King of pressure ever 👑
Dumb handel
@@douglaswilson3978Ahh, yes... what an insightful and sophisticated comment. 🤷🏻♂️😂
Also the king of corrupt hearings. Guy is a scumbag. Some of us don't forget.
Fantastic commentary from Dennis for the double.
Delighted for John Higgins making this epic clearance, retaining his Top 16 spot ...& into another Crucible QF (his 18th !). My late mum was a big fan - she lived in Hamilton quite close to the Higgins family & on occasion would see John & Denise & their kids in the local supermarket or restaurant, Friendly, down to earth, unassuming...just as he appears on TV.
This match will go down in the annals. Words like classic and great are bandied around far too much but this was absolutely captivating. Allen was looking bang on it in that last frame too but just over cuts the red. I’ve been watching snooker since the 80s. I’ve never seen a more remarkable counter clearance to win a deciding frame. My admiration for Higgins has gone through the roof. What a warrior.
@@GoneFishin247 when did he cheat? Never so him cheat once.
If you've been watching since the 80s then you should know there's been plenty of times where Higgins has done this before. The most memorable was the 06 masters in the decider vs Ronnie
Those last 2 frames had everything what Snooker is all about
So incredibly happy for John to win, he is such a genuine guy and thoroughly deserved that win by being so brave in his shot choices.😊
Now that is sports charm at its finest, sometimes is not all about winning titles but to create moments like this that will be remembered by millions of fans world wide. Thanks both players and Taylor/Hendry's classic commentary.
Literal full body goosebumps as that black went in!
I've been watching snooker avidly since 1987 and those 2 reds he potted, given the pressure of both the match and his ranking position, are 2 of the best shots I've ever seen in 1 frame... Form is temporary, class is permanent... and that class, is The Class of '92!! ❤
Джонни вперед. К победе
You can literally see John shaking while trying to pot the last black... superb pressure handling
This is the reason I have always been a John Higgins fan! The man has nerves of steal and its the 1 thing you cant argue, hes better at handling the pressure under the most extreme circumstances, than any other player! When it really mattered he played the best frame of the whole match. An absolute Legend
I'm absolutely buzzing from those final 2 frames alone. Loved seeing the emotion there at the end. Just beautiful.
It was the best session of snooker I've ever seen. I wanted John to win, but only marginally, because Mark Allen is a class act.
Same. I like them both but John is older. Mark will have more chances in the future.
Love to see Higgins go on and win it.
Luckily the cheat has been knocked out so all good in the end
@@MrJokerlad19 cheat😂
@@MrJokerlad19 Just like Ronnie when he admitted that he was asked to match fix
Even by John's standards, that's an outrageous clearance. The double to start it off, the last red near the top cushion, not to mention all the permutations that if he'd lost he was out the top 16. That's up there with the one he made to win the Masters against O'Sullivan in 2006, arguably even better given the circumstances.
Yeah reminded me of that 2006 break
That was a do or die shot. And he nailed it perfectly!
I’ve just watched this on the TV live, but I had to watch it again!!
I remember some years ago in a Master final vs Ronnie, John also started from do or die difficult red to steal the frame and clinch the champion. What a class.
I was at work and just said 'fuck you' to my supervisor and walked out of the floor to watch the final frame. Best decision of the year so far by me.
I used to do the same. Some 12/12 matches I will literally pull over if I am driving or just go hide from work.
Why must you turn this into a house of lies?
Tremendous red under pressure! John is probably the best doubler I've seen. He's potted so many great doubles over the years which is why he backed himself.
I was on the edge of my seat watching this. This match was worthy of the final.
One of the greatest breaks ever in snooker history under the circumstances. A level of pressure we would never understand. You can actually see John trembling at 7:23. The Class of 92' is stronger than ever!!!
Man this match was so tense and the last 2 frames nearly got me sweating watching. Hope john goes on now to at least the semis
The snooker Gods gave us fans exactly what we wanted in one frame of snooker.
What a clearance, it will be remembered for many years to come 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A stunning match from both players.
Wspaniały! Oglądałam do końca! Higgins to prawdziwy czarodziej! Unbelievable! Incredible! Excellent! Real wizard!
Higgins pulled a Ronnie 'O steal... awesome to see!
Balls Of Steel our Higgins! The epitome of self beliefWell Done John!.2/3 Class of 92 in the Quarter Final stages 2024
Unbelievable, rolled the clock back, still brilliant.
What a clearance in the final frame. Considering Maguire and Bingham are in the QF of this tournament as well, increased pressure and difficulty in keeping himself in the top 16 pushed him to give all his best in thus match. Really a top class player!
Had a bet on Allen to win the tournament this year but couldn’t be happier to see John win like this last night, after all his struggles lately and near misses. Rooting for him to go even further now! What a class act.
That was one of the greatest matches ever....battled it to the end, what a clearance, but Allen's phenomenal game 12 as well!!!
No choice but to play the double, there was no safety option available to him. To play it though and make it, to then clear up was special, as the pressure became immense. Unlucky Mark, sometimes you just have to applaud the opponent, as you gracefully did, great match by both, come on the John you know you can win this again. Do it!
This is for the ages...
Snooker never needed such an epic break of sheer brilliance more! John stays in the Top 16, and what it means to play at the World Championship at the Crucible...
Brilliant from both players tonight. And well done John. 🙏👏
This match is the great legend.
One of the most remarkable frames of snooker, for all money it looked like Allen had it in the bag, Higgins then pulls of one of the best pressure clearances of all time. Absolutely fantastic
The thumbnail is incredible & will go down in history as one of the all time clearences. What an amazing player John Higgins 🐐
Simplesmente ESPETACULAR!!! Creio que tenha sido a melhor disputa deste campeonato!
I'm happy for john.. Hope he lift this title this year.. So many season in tournament he going to final but lose 😢😢
Genius
This is hands down the best steal have ever seen in a live match.
His Masters 2006 decider clearence, his 2018 clearence against williams when williams was 17-15 and 62 points up and just need a pink, until he missed it.
Absolute snooker genius
I believe it, I just watched it! -- the Higgins of 5 yrs ago was capable of such feats regularly -- but his recent form has not been nearly as good, to the point where, if there was a must win frame, today I would not necessarily pick him as the guy to do it, as I would have 5 yrs ago -- sympathy for Mark Allen, who makes that red with the rest 9 of 10 times
This clearance was one of the best I have ever seen. Maybe the best under the circumstances. Incredible. Well played sir.
That is the quality of a true champion. Amazing
Higgins first red was mind boggling
Tremendous shot under pressure ❤
Not only fighting for a Qtr final place but fighting to stay in the top 16, surely one of the greatest clearances of all time
Фантастика - Давно Такого Не Видел 🔥💝👏😉👍💯
This is exactly why Higgins is one of the best match players ever.
Anyone else realise how full circle this double was? Remember when Steve Davis knocked in the double from basically the same spot to knock John out?
Great point!
Just watched it again. It was an almost identical double Steve Davis played to knock John Higgins out of the Worlds in 2010.
You couldn’t make it up.
Vengence of Master 2k24 match, he did it🎉❤
Absolutely incredible
Obrigado por esse dia John Higgins❤
don't retire just yet John if you please
Amazing...great job john..👏👏👏
Last red was breathtaking....poting in so much pressure that too at that pace.
Shot on the last red along border with that pace, wao ❤
Classic Crucible moment. In a few years there won't be anymore. Thanks Hearn.
Why not ? They're not stopping the world championships are they ? Please explain what you mean,( no sarcasm, genuine question)
@@davidmellish3295 I think he means the WC will be moving away from the Crucible
@@davidmellish3295 The Saudis are intending to bid for the Snooker World Championship when the Crucible's contract runs out. Due to their limitless spending power they seem intent on ruining every sport invented in the West, and it's all thanks to their good fortune of Westeners discovering and extracting oil from underneath their feet.
@mbucd nah that will never happen, will it ? It's the home of the wc,I saw interviews with Barry before where he said the crucible was the home of the wc.
That's why I asked the question. Has Barry Hearn actually come out and said it's moving ?
@@davidmellish3295 Can't remember who it was, but someone interviewed on the radio a few weeks ago said that the Saudis are planning to wave their money around and take the World Championships over there when the Crucible contract runs out.
Best match I can remember watching. Brilliant stuff
What a great .. Congrats John
Great clearance 💪👌
That was an amazing last frame but one of the best matches I’ve watched in a long time. Well played to both men 👏🏻
This was one of the best games ive seen in a long time. Totally gripping viewing.
he is not looking at the double..he is looking at the double 👌
what a game by two great players and the legend shows his class at the end. FAIR PLAY JH.
Surely we cant have more drama was the greatest setup line in history
I didn't get to see this live but this is without doubt going to be a historical break in snooker. The composure, the courage. Incredible
nerves of steel. higgins is the man.
John Higgins is back. Most complete player of all time. 😉
Higgins is unbelievable. I've watched his whole career and he's a mentality monster
And a cheat
What a Legend 👍🏼
This match and the one maguire won against murphy, both are to be remembered for years. Already great tournament this.
Nerves of steel ,fantastic
One of the best matches I've seen in a long time. Would be happy to see him win it after that.
Real throwback to the Higgins of yesteryear.No-one can engineer a comeback like John and this might just gave been his best. What a player.
Arrr aye mark iam gutted for you mate!!! Top class player 👏 👌 👍
ohhhhh i want to write alot on this match finish, but i am speechless.... come on John 💪
Legend.
John proving his class❤
King of pressure!!!
The class of john Higgins on display here.
Perfect match
The first and last red are unreal.❤❤❤
When I saw the situation with the double. A large part of me was thinking, don't get into a long safety battle that you're odds on to lose being so far behind. The double was proper all eggs in one basket stuff, but worth the risk with the prize being a chance to win the match. The last red was phenomenal as was the rest of the break. Best match and best break of the tournament so far. Bring on the quarter finals and the weekend. Great stuff 😀😀😀😀😀
John higgins is the best player to play doubles. Mark Selby is a close second, but this guy tops the lot. Under pressure aswell. Hats off to him an incredible clearance 👏
Fantastic performance: the best I have ever seen.
With his reputation for being the doubles king and it being the only shot on a red left, Im sure it was an easier shot than that last red played at pace so close to the edge, and with very little pocket to work with. Balls of steel , and he still has it in him, so hope he goes further as that would give him loads of confidence.
This is a brutal sport! I was tooting for Mark, but all credit to John. It ain't over til it's over.
Nice one John . He does seem a really nice guy
Now that was nuts what a game of snooker that was 😮
What a clearance
Amazing
bravo bravo 🎉🎉🎉
Mark Allen, what a player! 👏👏
