My 2020 Ford ST with 27k lost its 10r60 last month 600 miles and 2 states away stranding my wife and kids. After a week and going back and forth with the Dealer and Ford, we stumbled into a deal to just trade the ST away in on a brand new Ford Ranger Tremor. I hope 10r80 in the Ranger treats us better. Kinda want to start planning ahead in case the transmission failures on stock vehicles it becomes an expected part of life.
10R80s are very strong in their stock form.

Smart move good planning , I wouldn’t turn it up on boost unless you have and other build engine. Well you could swap one pulley and try it, but before I would installed that new 10R80 than go at the track.

Put the built stuff in now and gradually turn up to “kill mode”. That way you breaking in the new stuff. Don’t want to break and then change.

Hey what's up buddy I was just interested in seeing how your transmission is doing I currently have a 3.0 Whipple on my truck that I just got even though I upgraded the clutches and Steals and have a Suncoast converter the transmission is acting up looking to upgrade how is the transmission that you got

The stock ones on 15-20 have held over 1200whp without issue
Can’t build it strong till we see what breaks
I boke mine at 815 i think because im runing on 40s tires and 4.56gears twin turbo setup
@@BoostedF150 thanks for thr fast respond i bought 2 transfers for spare just in case. My rear driveshaft broke and then the 2 front cvs broke 2 i think that was the reason
Wow 40s😳. Yeah driveshaft I’ve seen cause damage all the way to the engine

What are you using for a drive shaft? (HP rating) I'm wanting to change mine. I just swaped my e loc rear to a super modified 8.8 LS
So far stock.
The 4wd shaft holds better than the longer 2 piece 2wd

Just looked at the rubber boot. I was expecting the big carrier bearing setup.
That tranny is a big girl... last one I swapped was a little C4 in an OLD F-150 😂

I used to wonder that but, now that there’s a solution I don’t see the point of the added weight and hassle reconfiguring things
