- Demolition of the former Clayton House and Howard Johnson's got underway Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Vacant for six years, the six-story hotel is being razed in favor of a new development dubbed Riverwatch Place.

Was it even worth making the video considering how short it is. I wouldn't even call it a "highlights" video, a few bumps of a wrecking ball that barely did anything apart from knock a few bricks off the building. Is there a long/full version showing all or most of the demo job?

That old timer must be loven that. You don't think so but it's actually a real talent to use a wrecking ball. Sounds dumb but if you don't do it right it will mess that crane right up. But one thing. That ball should be hooked on a truck tire in between the chain and ball. Takes the shock off the boom and crane.

A wrecking ball? Seriously? Why the hell didn’t they implode it? I remember when that was the LeClaire hotel, with the hideous baby blue glazed brick. It was depressingly ugly, even in the 60’s.
