@@thejokeriscool55 Moxibustion is specifically about applying heat. Some forms of it use hot rocks, others use some sort of burning fuel, like hardwood or incense.
Think of it as applying an ancient heating pad, but more directed on specific points, and you'll get the general idea of what it is supposed to accomplish.
Even if you don't believe in things like pressure points and the more mystical elements of this kind of therapy, it feels amazingly good anyway.
Never had anything like this done, but I have had hot rock moxibustion done before. It's very relaxing, and ideally you want to get the heat source right to the point of tolerance without causing discomfort or burns.
It's kind of like one of those back massage pillow things that have the rotating plastic things that massage and heat up, but way better.

@@MorrahaDesigns Moxibustion is the English way of saying it. It combines Moxa [mugwort] which is the most common fuel to burn for it, and -bustion as in combustion.
In Chinese it's called Jiushu I think, and I don't know what the literal translation of that is.
Not all forms of it use mugwort, but it's become a kind of blanket term for targeted heat therapy techniques, whether it be with hot rocks, incense, mugwort, or even burning a liquid herbal and alcohol mixture and using an open flame in some cases.
Usually it's heat that is placed, rubbed, or pressed on accupressure or meridian points.
Even if you don't believe in that stuff, a simple explanation for it is that it basically works like a heating pad does to loosen up and relax muscles.
