Both leading and following have their nuances, and leg leading is definitely a tricky one, but also it always has a visual impact because you don't always know how the move is led.
The best lesson on this is that upper body still maintains the majority of the lead, while the leg completes it and sometimes may totally change the dynamics of the move.
