During an interview where he apologized for Bravely Second hadn't reached the fans expectations, Mr. Asano answered a question (probably about if this material would be translated) saying that none of the happenings of Pocketbook Of R were real. These happenings are just Ringabel's wishful thinkings of happenings. After receiving his memories back, Ringabel (now Alternis again, but "modified") got really confused, it makes sense for him to write a new adventure for himself to fill the void in his heart after the closing of the Pillar of Light and after he left the Luxendarc #5 where he had a real adventure (the whole story of Bravely Default 1 itself). In reality, he never left, according to Asano's answer. He just wanted to make a "Perfect" Luxendarc for Edea to live in, since his original world was gone. It makes sense to be just an illusion, a wishful thinking, since the whole thing sounds like a dream really, these two books are so weird! I have these books and I have read them two times, but it the reading always felt weird... Anyway, this video is great! ❤️ Thanks for bringing content.
Where's the source for the interview if you could provide? I've been curious if the Pocketbook of R was canon or not myself. The reason so is because Airy is apparently traveling with Ringabel now because of his supposed trip to Infinite Luxendarc, but seeing as in Bravely Second (there was a side quest where Ringabel shows up) Airy isn't to be found. Unless she's back at the Planeswarden HQ or something like that. I'm so invested right now. 😅
@@LolaTheMii I don't think Luthy can provide a source because no interview or video I can find even mentions Pocketbook of R, at least not during ANY interview where Bravely Second was apologized for. Unless this person can provide a source, the comment was pulled out of their ass.

@@LolaTheMii To be fair infinite Airy not showing up in second could very easily be explained away as her staying hidden since she's kind of a kill on sight target for world 5 Edea and Tiz (as well as anyone else they may have mentioned her true allegiance to). Anne also being around as the Kaiser's right hand woman might also make things awkward.

FINALLY I CAN KNOW THE WHOLE STORY OF THESE NOVELS! IM SO HAPPY! I bought them out of pure love for the luxendarc arc and Ringabel specially, and haven't regretted it a single bit even if I couldn't understand what was written cuz I don't know japanese. Sigh, I miss these boys so bad, I want them to come back someday, I hope Asano and company give us a new adventure in luxendarc some day! Or, at least, localize brilliant lights, I want to know the story I'm supposed to be playing ya know.

I don't see any mention of Pocketbook of R at all in the Famitsu article and interview that you're referencing. Can you provide a screencap?
