Thank god engineers and mechanics like you are able to keep this Gorgeous cars safely on the road even 45 Year’s later upgrading tuning up upgrades and many more makes these cars even better and faster thanks to my 450sl v8 still runs like a champ with 244 thousand miles with maintenance and regular oil changes

Joe, I'm presently speaking with them about the practicalities of sending my SL to them for this mod package. Their SportLine is exactly what I want for my SL320.
jkoysza1 I own a 1980 450sl in Florida. Did you ever get the practicalities of shipping your car over to the UK ? I am keen to explore options to make my SL more drivable .
@@nikoskonstantinidis4864 Nikos, Yes I did get a quote from the preferred shipping agency. I'd ship it out of Charleston SC to the UK. Presently working on timing, as I have ordered a shotgun from Longthorne's and I want to pick up both in the UK, drive to Scotland for some grouse shooting, then ship both toys back to the USA. Jeff

I’d like to see the performance enhancements of the SportLine mated to the look of the 80s AMG bodykit, monochromatic paint and all.
Looks too small without the larger bumpers.
What you need to do is open a shop in America. Northern Virginia would be a great place, if you want my opinion.

I assume you mean "lower the tone" literally because of the R230's beast of a growl.
The SL Shop Yes and also because the R230 is a little bit of a poor relation now to the 107. Just the way things are these days. Would have bought one some years ago but got tempted by something else German and in mint condition :-)

my favourate car,and youve just brought it into 2022 a real car .i wish i new the cost ,got to be around 20 grand .i paid 8 thousand for my 300 sl .or is this 300sl still slower than my freinds 500 sl .

I live in Italy and I'm torn between the R107 and the R129, why are R107's becoming so overpriced? Do you advise me to get an r107 and rebuild it with a straight 6 M103 with a 3.0 Engine? I know this engine like the back of my hand because I've owned several W126 and W 124 models in the past. Can you please help me ?
R107s are so nice; why not M110?
Almost perfect “recreation”. But why.is there a difference in position of the two front wheels? ( left side more to the outside than the left one ). And why no airbag ( our 1985 has one ) and not the original switches for the heated seats? I like the details.
This car is like custom made for the client, have you studied the possibilities of incorporating blue tooth technology, so it can compete with the rest of the cars.
Which wheel dimensions did you use? Was it 205 60 or 65 R15?
Nice upgrade. Is it me or is the drivers (offside) wheel offset different to passenger (nearside).. ie sticking out more ? If so wouldn't that be detrimental to the SL's handling ?

What you have done with the m103 to increase to 250hp makes me wonder if the the m104 in my R129 300Sl might be able to reach 300 with headers, modern efi and ignition

How feasible is it to create a 500SL Sportline with Manual Transmission?
AMG did some conversions of the M117 5.0 V8 to a GETRAG 5-speed manual (the Mercedes box couldn't handle the torque) in the late 70s and early 80s - only a few ever made, but I think it could be done - maybe even to an 560 SL, which has the same engine block but a bigger crankshaft.
its designed as a weekend cruiser not a sport car. Too heavy.
