The part i like most about this particular episode is to hear from others that the learning curve - learning that we do not need anywhere near the amount of things that mainstream living has caused us to feel dependent on. Having much less stuff in exchange for more options and better living takes a bit of time to get the hang of, but always, without a doubt is completely worth it. Thanks for showing others how to take the leap also.
Been watching your videos for a while now as my girl and I are preparing to retire and hit the road. Your videos are the most informative, enlightening and enthusiastic I have come across. You have no idea how they are helping us prepare! Thank you so much and keep em coming!
My wife and I are moving back to the USA in December for retirement after 34 years in France. We will miss living here immensely, but the reward is that we are going full-time for a year ! "Woo-hoo!" as Trish would say. Your videos, especially this one with the 52 essential questions, are highly informative and valuable to help us to anticipate and navigate the hard things (the mechanical or tire problems, the emotional "dip" after the honeymoon, etc.) and enjoy the good stuff about RVing. Thank you so much for making these videos sharing your lives, your enthusiasm and your wisdom. We deeply appreciate your work in making them and making them available to us newbies.
Wow. 34 years. Where are from originally and how did you end up staying there so long? I trust coming back will be a culture shook. Keep in touch on your adventure. I'm not shamelessly plugging the KYD Insiders, but genuinely would love to see where you go and help you along the way. Our KYD Insiders fbook page is the best way for us to get to see the adventures of the community.
Well, I'm from Mississippi and Bobbie is from Atlanta. I am an evangelical pastor/church planter working with the tiny French protestant church in the Paris suburbs. I'll miss my friends, our church (25 on a good Sunday!), the beauty of France, the food, and of course the wonderful wines here. We are trusting that the shock to come back to the US will be offset by the joy of the RV experiences. Bobbie has never seen the west, and I haven't seen all of it by a long shot, so I am excited about showing her Sequoia National Park (where I worked as a college student) and other parks. We need to wean ourselves off of France and on to the USA and RVing looks like the way to do it. I am just getting to know about KYD and will sign up for Insiders right away, "avec plaisir!" You have ALREADY "helped us along the way" and look forward to learning more from you two.
Wow! Answered all those questions in record time! Most obvious unanswered question, you two are fantastic parents! Family first, vlog is a job. You two are great, make it look easy!
I am definitely of the same philosophy as far as not putting it off until you have the "perfect" RV. You are so right that it may never happen if there is always another "goal" to reach first. I have custody of my three beautiful grand daughters and until they arrived in my care, I had planned to hit the road any way I could first afford to make it happen. Of course, life sometimes has another plan, and they became my priority...but now that they are settled with me and know they are safe, it is time for some adventures. Your video's have been nothing short of fabulous. I can not thank you enough for the time and energy you have put into sharing your experiences. So many question have been answered and so many ideas and myths have been put to rest. Once we have my mother settled in long term care, we are hitting the road running. I am still undecided on which way to go in regards to their schooling, but you have given me so much to think about and questions to ask to make that decision with much more confidence. I really thought that my "daydreams" would have to be put on the back burner, but you have certainly inspired me to stop daydreaming and get moving, even with my new additions to the family. Realizing that I can still do this with these wonderful kids is so exciting now. And I cant thank you enough for that inspiration. May God bless you and keep you all safe on your travels.
Good job! Words of encouragement: We homeschooled our boys and they are now wonderful, accomplished adults and one of my answers to the boredom question was it's good to be bored. Boredom breeds creativity, you were not created to be entertained all the time. You guys are doing an awesome job with your family and your videos and everything.
I really appreciate you making us feel like we belong with our four runner and our baby 13 foot camper. We followed your advice and we’re venturing out with what we have and enjoying our spring and summer in Colorado.
Love the comment about not making the RV the hobby, treat it as the tool to get you to places. That is why we are really looking at our needs in an RV and not the wants. When you focus on the wants you cross the line and I get concerned that if you make the RV to comfortable you will be less likely to want to leave it. I just need someplace to sleep, put my stuff, and to get out of the bad weather. We are renting a teardrop camper this weekend, can't wait to try it.
Hi guys, just got back from 9 day vacation to Banff and surrounding area. The smoke is not an issue. Yes, some days were smokey/hazy but we just planned our trips accordingly - no issues. I wouldn't skip this area. I have No Regrets! Loved the area.
You have inspired me to start a UA-cam Channel! We have been full time RVers since April 2018 and never looked back. Had we started when the kids where in school, I would have loved it. But we waited till they moved out. We still work and travel when we can. Challenges, yes. Great Q&A!
I've found that most of the problems people have with living in an RV are in their mind. Usually when someone is discrediting the idea of full time RVing or tiny house living, they have never even tried it. It's as if they need to come up with problems that would result from doing it so they don't have to do it. I personally Love living in an RV. I've got over 2 years experience as a full timer and can't see changing that any time soon. Love your videos. Keep it up!
Picking up our first ever trailer in 9 days. Thanks for this very informative video. I can't wait for the dog video-one main reason why we decided to purchase an RV was so we can take our fur baby along without paying expensive hotel fees. Love all your videos!
I'm a part of a Heath Sharing group - Samaritan Ministries and it totally works!!! Amazing and we've been doing it for 10 years. Never had a problem with it...EVER.
we've been full timing for 8 years and love it! we are stationary for months at a time because we travel with work contracts so our 5th wheel functions as our home with all the amenities of home . we also have 3 pugs and a 140 lb Newfoundland (affectionately called the pony) and traveling with the dogs is great! they are awesome and keep us moving and in shape. if you get the chance...do it!
Also, regarding the health insurance...I am in a health share. The price was very good per month and it covers you worldwide for any doctor/hospital/urgent care that you need to use. There are 5 or 6 main health shares of which I am aware. Read carefully because each health share is different and covers differently. Some don't cover anything to do with motorcycles, some don't cover ambulances, some will only cover 3 occurances per year and their pre-existing conditions work differently as well. I have just had my first medical need so I am about to find out how well mine works.
This was a great video. We just adopted a dog 6 months ago when we were offered a 2 year old standard poodle. He is such a joy and easy to keep clean when traveling even though he's mostly white (some brown mixed in). I highly recommend a standard poodle they are very smart and great companions.
LOVE the videos! We don't do any dry camping so we always have shore power and we use our crockpot almost every day. Kind of like "set it and forget it" while we enjoy the day. We have a 2015 Keystone 31' travel trailer with the outside kitchen. We usually set it up out there for moisture and smell reasons. Its a great way to feed a family of 6 and not spend 2 hours fighting for counter space during meal prep times. There are some great crockpot cook books out there too. Plus its a one pot meal so clean up is easier.
Love following you guys. My husband and I are traveling since his retirement in April, we go and stay somewhere for a few weeks and take a lot of day trips or just hanging out doing nothing (63 & 60 YOA). We use our sons address for our home base and come back to FL every couple of months to see our 2 grandsons. Keep up the good times maybe we will see you out on the road.
This is a great video. We have been following your videos since earlier this year. We pulled the plug and hit the road June 26, leaving Southern California. Currently in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada after a couple of weeks in the Upper Penninsula area of Michigan. Will be turning west to Washington state this coming week. Thanks for all the good tips and encouragement.
Thank you so much! again, such a great video with the right answers to the difficults questions! Indeed, seating in the RV when outside is not playing great, that's the biggest problem we found over time with our rig. Again, we love to follow your experience! Happy Camper from Montréal, Qc, Canada.
My daughter homeschools 4 boys. There are meet ups and groups. Yes, it's easiest if have a stationary home, but the boys have friends they've made online. Not all of them are local. And those wagons are awesome. I shove it in my Prius when we go traveling. No luggage cart, no problem.
Thank you both sooo much for ALL of the great advice! Wife and I are buying our first RV next week. A Forrest River Vibe Extreme lite 315BHK (34'8"). Have watched many of your videos and learned a LOT. Thanks again. Keep them coming.
LOVE a this episode from the time machine. So fun to see how your dreams manifested over time. Your dreams from way back then are now your reality! Love it!
I am preparing to transition in 2020 to a nomadic lifestyle. Being single, I look forward to seeing places I only viewed on UA-cam as well as making new friends. Thank you for all the great information that you have shared as well as the energy you bring to your production.
thank you for taking the time to read all our questions and short them out and create this awesome video to answer ALL ! i really enjoy all your videos !! Love love your videos !!
We came from a family with large dogs (German Shepards and Golden Retrievers.) For travel, we choose a Yorkshire Terrier. The ideal smaller space animal. Small, friendly, do not shed whatsoever, obedient, easily potty trained. They were bred to be mice and rat catchers. They always want to be the presence of people but NOT necessarily a lap dog.
waiting for that dog and rv thing! I have 3 small rescues...I only take small trips currently....but traveling on longer adventures solo and grocery shopping has me stumped....LOVE you guys!
Phew I had to breath after that Awesome Q&A...many thanks.....you guys are such a breath of fresh air of excitement... many thanks...and always "safe-travels"
Just watched this episode for the first time. Has to be one of your best. I've been following you and others for a little over a year now. Probably won't be going full time but just trying to get educated on RVing. Thx
Hi this Ginger (not your RV)! Just bought our first RV (yea) My hubby is a retired Oklahoma State Trooper after 38 years being the dreaded "Smokie!" I am a retired photographer and taught adult education in Photography. Just wanted to say Thank you for all your excellant advice it has really made preparing for our first trip on the road (going 36 miles to Chickasaw Natl Park). Of course the RV Store tried to sell us everything . . . Amazon was the best place to find the exact same thing for a lot less. Thank you again for all your good advice and please keep them coming!
I laughed over what you you want in your next trailer. There is a standing joke among full-timers that goes, "I wish we had bought our last camper first." My preference is a diesel Pusher towing a Jeep Wrangler so options are open, We will always have a "Homebase" to swing by occasionally. Being retired and able to maintain a Homebase is an advantage.
Hi Trish, you mention that you want a slow cooker. May I suggest you get an Instant Pot? They are amazing! I you can cook things in 1/2 (or more) of the time!!! There are videos on it .... check it out (& they are fulltimers, too)!
You guys are awesome, so much to learn from. I am just starting, the hard things for me is is getting out there, I have a Class C 25ft just enough for me and the Yellow Lab who will be going with me all the time. I think the most expense I will have is going to be the fuel other than that not so much, as long as I can plug in and not pay to much per night I will do just fine, thanks again for sharing your tips and tricks with me. Terry
We just went to Banff and now are in Glacier. We didn't have too much of an issue with smoke till we drove back to Montana. We saw the fires firsthand from the road but seeing the Athabasca glacier in Jasper was worth it. Have fun at Glacier.
Hate to be biased but, really can't go wrong with a German Shepard. Energetic, extremely loyal to the whole family. And, LOVES to travel and camp. Love my Darci!
Keep Your Daydream I would check into breed restrictions before getting a German shepherd. Although they are amazing dogs, they are on "the list" and private campgrounds can claim that their insurance policy will not allow them on the property. Sad but it is reality for a lot of people that own certain dog breeds
Hate to be biased, but in my experience, they whine a LOT. They drool on the floor after drinking water horribly, to the point of a slip hazard. However, they are still great dogs.
Catching up on some of your "Older" posts. Can I say "Charlie"......We said the same thing about two beagles. Now we have Thor, the Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler). He actually watches Charlie when we watch your new videos. So informative.
Our must haves are the same! I love my portable laptop desk (same one) and our wagon. We have the wagon with the fat beach wheels. We use it ALL the time! Great video! Spot on.
Yes, I tried "pushing the limit" and blew up the SUV Denali I had... Now using a 2500 Duramax GMC, and boy do I love diesel!!! All day long, now stress, no strain...
Re black tanks...I heard of dumping a bucket of ice cubes in your tank after dumping, right before driving to next location. The ice gets knocked around in there ...then, flush/rinse at next stop. Seems like it would work. Happy trails, Guys!
I just bought my first rig 2008 lexington forest river gts 283 i watch your videos and you inspire me and my wife to take the plunge and start traveling year round in the RV we're from Boca Raton Florida hopefully when you guys travel back to Florida you do a meet up thanks again for the videos
My husband and love your videos. We still haven't seen them all but we have enjoyed every one we have seen. Love the drone footage for sure and your family is just too cute. Those boys do make me laugh!
Yet another great vedio. Our dog was about a year and a half old when we got her. She doesn't like other dogs so she stays home with other family members. Loves people. To bad we can't take her along
One added for security, on that underbelly tire mount (just put one on myself for the spare spare). I drilled a hole next to the screw knob to add a padlock to the $300 tire set up that can be much more easiely taken in the current mount system.
As far as small kitchen appliances goes, take a look at an “Instant Pot”. It has 7 to 10 different functions. Seems like an ideal appliance for an RV. We don’t do full time RVing, but RV in a waterfront spot on the Allegheny River for 6 month a year. (Spring, summer and fall) enjoy your videos. Sheri
Great video as always!!! 💚. Love the time stamp idea. That water in the background was the prettiest color. Trish-about the smells.... one word....Febreeze!!!!!! Does NOT 'mask' the smell -- it neutralizes it. Take it from someone with 2 cats.
I loved watching this video! So informative. Enjoy CDA and the surrounding areas. We lived there for over 40 years so I know the area well. SOOOO much to see and do- the area is known for the MANY lakes it has. Too bad you hit the Pacific NW at this time of the year with all the fires- we are in bad smoke clear down here in Boise. Take care and take it all in............ Mo
Great video! When I saw how long it was I considered the need for popcorn. OMGosh the way you did it rapid fire with an outline if desired was excellent! You two are awesome as usual!! Love your family, I miss Maddie. Thank you for all you do!
Excellent Q&A - two questions: - Trish said she used a cleaner with essential oils - would that be Thieves? I love that one! - Can we still look forward to some of Trish's recipes? Sorry Mark, it is all about Trish today 😉
:) Yes, we decided to do a video recipe book and you will get the first glimpse as a KYD Insider. We're going to start recording in Tahoe. We just need time in one spot. I think the video recipe book will go faster.
I really love this. You two plus three are so great to answer all those questions. We are ramping up to go full time as a couple. I feel your treasure of sharing will help achieve successful endeavors. Best wishes and happy trails to you.
Brilliant list! My hubs and I are just now looking at doing this.. closing in on retirement, no kids, 2 cats. So this is a great video!! Thank you!! We laughed at the seating question.. that was our first.. What so we need.. Thing! Awesome!
I loved this episode so much! The Q&A's just went on and on. Really interesting and far-ranging. As Steve and I get closer to our RV trip, we'll go through all of your videos because they are so helpful. It makes a difference that I feel like I know you guys after all this time listening to your podcasts, emailing, and watching these videos. We will have the challenge of 3 dogs and a parrot. But honestly, we think that by the time we take off, it will be one dog and our beloved little avian girl. We've done a lot of thinking about how it will all work, and we know they both love traveling (Steve actually built a backpack hiking cage for our parrot and Pumpkin has been to Yosemite and many other places!). We wonder about AC and leaving our animals in the RV to go shopping, etc...I know the restrictions vary from state to state. So much to learn. QUESTION: what about theft and break-ins? An RV podcast, "Roadtrekkers" had a break-in and they lost over $10k of stuff and money...have you guys ever had issues? Do you have preventative measures? Keep up the awesome, you two!
Hey there Janet. Yes, you've been along for the ride for a long time! Always good to hear from you. We are going to do a video on RV Safety. Sorry to hear about Mike's trouble. I think I recall that. We have had no issues. We take extra precautions when we don't like the vibe. Before going into cities, we take the bikes off the truck. If the RV park doesn't look/feel right, we might lock the bikes up or take our computers with us. One of the reasons we went with Progressive is to get 10k of household insurance. I can't recall the correct name, but it covers personal items if stolen from an RV.
I laughed when you said it got cold in Oregon. Yeah, our weather is usually lousy. Our summer is about two months long, maybe slightly longer since it sometimes eats up the later weeks of September, if we're lucky but most of the time we have rain, cold, clouds, rain, fog, & did I mention rain? Gotta love Portland, we're pretty much siblings to Seattle, any weather you'd expect Seattle to have, prepare for that when in Portland but in July & August, that glowing ball in the sky makes things warm so at least there's that. We have had rain in August before but mostly you can expect good weather around that time. A lot of this was nice to know, I was a little worried on stuff regarding doctor visits & so on but I'm super thankful that if I need it, I can call my mom for advice since she was an ER nurse for 20+ years. I won't be RVing for a long time, I can't afford it right now but I totally want to when I can. I'd be on the road on my own but I definitely want to have a dog, I grew up with a dog & I always felt safe with him around so it will help me feel far more secure RVing with one which does bring me to something, what about emergency vet care? Like what if you're off in the woods somewhere & your dog gets injured & you need to take care of it right away yet the closest vet would take a long time to get to, what do you do then? You might of mentioned it in this video, I was cleaning while watching but I listened in on the stuff that more of appealed to me, maybe I might of missed it.
oregon sounds like England, mostly dull dreary and depressing as it too is always misty cloudy windy or raining, but we do usually see more sun in the wintertime, the Only problem is the sunshine days are short and the sun has no strength to it, but does help to clear up the winter blues. At least America is a very large country and all one does need to do is to travel to the sun inside their own country, Like Miami.
Enjoyed the video! Before retiring from my FT job at the end of April and going FT in a Class A at the beginning of May , medical insurance was a big concern. Cobra was out due to the cost, private insurance was costly as well. Through the govt. marketplace I was able to get us a policy through Florida Blue which does cover us nationwide. At least in Florida the coverage does extend out of state.
Mark it's time for the Trish's RV cooking show! Time to pass on some of those outstanding cooking techniques and secrets. We also love RV food and are always looking for new and delicious ideas.
I really liked the comment about treating the RV as a tool to get you places. That is exactly the mind set we came up with at the very beginning BUT after doing months of research and watching other youtubers, we were starting to get side tracked into what color we will paint the interior, and what curtains to put up, etc. Since then we have decided to just gather the basics and hit the road 3 months ahead of schedule!! Phoenix has already been over 100 degrees for many days and we can't wait to go north.
This episode was so informative, we've been camping (seasonal) for 3 years and ready to hit the road. You have a great channel and thank you for sharing. Hopefully mines will start soon.
Obviously, you've considered upgrading the truck when you find your fifth wheel. Depending on your budget, you might consider Cedar Creek or Jayco. We e've been researching rvs for a couple years, planning to snowbird eventually. If you really want, to upgrade (double the $$$i), check out Rv Factory. Wow! I love that you guys do regular q&a, always good info! Thanks, safe travels!
How to deal with homesickness.... I’m in my seventies and my ‘home’ has died on me. The future is ahead and the past is gone, so learn to live in the moment. Think about it - what’s your option? Plans? As often as not, plans have to change along the way. The solution? Understand that life IS change. Adapt and go with (as you guys say over and over) the flow. Recall Nietzsche: what doesn’t destroy you strengthens you! So....live in the moment and adapt!
Marc, I to have more tools in my camper than I need, but I might one day. I never thought to add a rake. I guess I will have to add that just to keep up with you!!!!!!!
Lol. I guess I thought I was going to have to clear a camp site. I used it once time to pick-up trash an animal got into. I left it in Grants Pass after 13 months. Wow
You guys are great! I’m keeping my daydream! I have to say that this is one of the best channels I’ve come across and I thought I’d seen them all. Was absolutely stuck on a few that don’t hold a candle to you guys. Very real life, inspirational and fun! Keep up the greatness and like Mark says “education is not more importener than camping” My wife and I just bought our second rig, it’s a captiva bunkhouse. We sold a class c to go to a TT. The very next day I bought a 2013 Expedition xlt with tow package. The trailer bossed me around like nothing I’ve ever seen. Short wheel base I suppose. I just installed a new WDH and need to get it fine tuned. May end up bagging the Expedition. One way or the other we are putting this rig on the road and we are taking you guys with us. Hope to see you out there down the road. Im a photographer/videographer and I would love nothing more than to shoots some videos and start a YT channel. Lotta work but sooo much fun. Thanks for all you guys do. Many blessings ~Scott
You guys are totally awesome and your videos are entertaining. Thank you for the tips, I hesitated traveling to Mexico until I saw your videos of your Mexico trip.......and survived
Love the rapid fire approach to real life applicable questions! Great insights for someone investigating F/T RVing like me. Much appreciated guys. Great job! 👍
You're absolutely right brand new 5th wheel, first time out rv park had power burst, blew inverter, from factory lights wired wrong, outside aux water outlet leaked cross threaded from factory. So YES, just because it's new you will have problems.
Awesome questions and answers. You guys did a great job. I love the idea of a video with q&a with the kids. I see your Oregon vid up in the corner. I missed it last week. Been pretty busy lately, but I'll get there.
Just discovered you guys (in “research and get ready for June 2018 RV life as newbies” mode). Some day when you get another dog and change breeds, I highly recommend the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed!!! Google and read up on them. We have two. Totally understand the “retired jersey” analogy too! Thanks for all you do!!!!! LOVE your videos so much!
Very new to RVing. As a matter fact we’re looking at our first in a few days. I have learned so much with you guys. I should say my wife and I :-) we’re excited and a little nervous to get started. But we’re going for it! Thank you so much for your videos guys!
I would recommend a Yorkshire Terrier, or two. If they are raised right, they love all other animals and people so make great travel companions. They are small, they love to travel, and they are funny, sweet and smart. They are athletic but if they get tired on a hike, they are small enough that they can go in their travel back pack. They love being anywhere with the family.
I just started watching your videos, lots of great information! Im just getting started to get things ready to RV on a more fulltime basis. Your stories and information have really inspired me. Thanks!
Susan says Thank You for your answer to her question. We'll keep the Panini maker even though it won't make waffles or pancakes. It does a great job with burgers, dogs and toasted cheese sandwiches which qualifies it as a multi-purpose appliance. The Nesco goes, since a crock pot does the same and takes less space. BTW, Tori and our ginger Granddaughters could probably pass for sisters. Not just looks, but their actions and mannerisms. Maybe we'll see you on the road.
Fifth wheel here! 'And to the question;"What appliances, should one bring; while living full time, or long vacation?? I would have to agree' that space is limited, so if you can find appliances, that indeed; serve a multitude; of uses, and or functions, that would be ideal. Ie #1 "George Foreman grill" for those times; going outside to hit the BBQ, is not really an option. Due to weather or convenience, the 'Foreman grill, is not just for burgers, and hotdogs. This particular tool, is a handy one for sure; that no camper/trailer should be without. Next is #2 "Toaster Oven" which can solve many easy tasks; at a fraction, of the time it takes to heat the full size oven. However sometimes' two birds one stone, is a little trick, you can use like; if it's cold out, using the Big Oven; will help heat your trailer, and if your cooking anyway, might as well use the free heat. Anyway, a Toaster Oven can do a multitude of things; just as the foreman can; Which makes it a perfect vacation/life on the road tool. Here are a few idea's" Pizza, toast, bagels, fish, Eggo's Pop-tarts, and the list goes on, and on, and on. just about anything you can think of, that the Oven can do. The Toaster Oven can do. faster, and for less energy, or waste of gas; and only takes up a very small space. which is key. *I guess I could've just said George Foreman/ Toaster Oven.** Anyway happy camping!!!;) No matter the duration.
This is your 3rd video I’ve seen. WOW Your attitude and perspective are awesome. Your ideas are excellent. Thank you so much! Your lifestyle sounds like SVDelos only on land. I love your idea about mail service.
Keep Your Daydream, great video! I hated how smoky it was because of the wildfires. I hope you guys will come back to OR because I would love to meet you guys!!
In regards to cooking my wife is using an electric pressure cooker that is awesome. As well as a microwave rice cooker. Meals are done in minutes. I like your advice about just getting into an RV first. We have changed our minds on what the perfect Rv is so many times. Until you do it you won't know what you need. We started using Oxy Kem with the black tank and it works great. We buy it at Walmart. What do you guys use?
Thanks guys, always helpful. I have too many questions, I'm making lists of stuff, for the RV now, picking up the truck tomorrow, the the RV Saturday, 32ft 2011 Springdale by Keystone. Setting her up here at home for the week to stay with her get to know her before I finalize the lists, loading up, then on to Colorado.
Thanks so much! I'm getting ready to embark on a similar adventure with my kids! You have been helpful and inspirational and also motivating!! --and esp your amazing kids!!
Sooooo, from what I gathered from this video.... Trish does ALL the laundry, cooking, cleaning, organizing, running errands, the kids' homeschooling, and preparing snacks for the kids. And, Marc empties out the black tank. Yea, I think that it's pretty much "equal". (If anything, I think that Trish needs another duty or 2, to make up for Marc having to deal with the "stinky slinky") Haha, just having a little fun with ya :)
When you're ready to get another dog to join your family, may I suggest adopting a dog from your local shelter (wherever you are). They make fine dogs! And it is as if they KNOW you saved them!
Hey Marc and Tricia! Just discovered your channel this year after buying my first travel trailer. I am watching the episodes in order from the first season and looooove them all but am especially excited to see you visited my hometown in this episode! Maybe we will cross paths in our trailers some day. Thank you for all of the amazing educational and entertaining content!
I am loving watching these older videos! If I remember correctly the must have wagon is gone... now you guys have the kyd cabin to rent out.. And isn't Charlie a golden?? Watching these older videos I've also seen how cute the Tori and Marc tips and tricks are and I miss them 💜
This was not only fun (as always), it was really useful info! PS, I think I knew Marc was in marketing, but I didn't know specifics. I run my own copywriting & content marketing business and the only thing I wish is that I'd launched it (and my independent business owner life) much sooner in my career. I launched a little over 1.5 years ago, left corporate America with a skip in my step, and wish I'd done it way before then. Kudos and all the best!

Thanks for letting us know! You'll love it.
My wife and I are moving back to the USA in December for retirement after 34 years in France. We will miss living here immensely, but the reward is that we are going full-time for a year !
Wow. Just amazing. Likewise, we can't wait to see the rest of the world, but very glad we got started "at home".
Wow! Answered all those questions in record time! Most obvious unanswered question, you two are fantastic parents! Family first, vlog is a job. You two are great, make it look easy!
Great tip on not letting the RV takeover the reason for doing what you're doing. Travel/Adventure is the reason.
One of the better videos I’ve seen… and I’ve seen a pile of them! Accessibility into what life is “really” like is special and keeps us engaged
Great Q&A!
Mark, thank you so much for ALL! I bought RV last Friday. All dreams come true!
Yes, we recently joined medi-share and have been very pleased. We saved more than half on our premium and lowered our deductible by half also.
That's so great. I'm always happy when people save $ on health care!!! :)
we've been full timing for 8 years and love it! we are stationary for months at a time because we travel with work contracts so our 5th wheel functions as our home with all the amenities of home . we also have 3 pugs and a 140 lb Newfoundland (affectionately called the pony) and traveling with the dogs is great! they are awesome and keep us moving and in shape. if you get the chance...do it!
Thank you for sharing this information!
Hey there Ginger. There are so many people from the force that watch the channel. We love it. Congrats on the rig. Fair roads!
Saw this video on 2/20/2018. Excellent! One of the most informative of all the rv'ing vids I've watched in the past 2 years.
Hi Trish, you mention that you want a slow cooker. May I suggest you get an Instant Pot? They are amazing! I you can cook things in 1/2 (or more) of the time!!! There are videos on it .... check it out (& they are fulltimers, too)!
Thank you for the comment, "focus on the traveling and not the rv'ing". I think we all forget this :)
Be there tomorrow. Lots of rain and wind in CDA. Hopefully that helps.
Hate to be biased but, really can't go wrong with a German Shepard. Energetic, extremely loyal to the whole family. And, LOVES to travel and camp. Love my Darci!
Great dogs for sure.
Keep Your Daydream I would check into breed restrictions before getting a German shepherd. Although they are amazing dogs, they are on "the list" and private campgrounds can claim that their insurance policy will not allow them on the property. Sad but it is reality for a lot of people that own certain dog breeds
Very true. Some parks aren't fans of big dog breeds.
Diesel is great no doubt.
You made a great choice with Charlie. You noe live in a airstream and own a house. Look at how far you have come, I love your honesty..
Awesome video. Love your Q & A's. Always get great information from all your video's. Safe travels.
I have had fifth wheel and Class C RVs I just now bought a work and play best camper I've ever had.
Absolutely a great video guys! Don't think you missed a thing! People just need to take a deep breath and jump into the deep end of the pool!
One added for security, on that underbelly tire mount (just put one on myself for the spare spare). I drilled a hole next to the screw knob to add a padlock to the $300 tire set up that can be much more easiely taken in the current mount system.
As soon as you said, "We don't talk to each other off camera" you got a thumb's up.
Lol. I like the qualifications. I'll ensure a healthy dose of sarcasm to keep the thumbs-up rolling.
we love your ideas and energy. arizona is so hot this year but would not live anywhere else. keep it safe, have loads of fun, keep making day dreams.
We agree. The more we travel the more we appreciate Arizona.
Sheri
So much great information.. Were new at full time RV living and right now its being homesick thats the hardest for me.
Lol. We miss Maddie too.
I did have popcorn! Lol!
Excellent Q&A - two questions:
- Trish said she used a cleaner with essential oils - would that be Thieves? I love that one!
- Can we still look forward to some of Trish's recipes?
Sorry Mark, it is all about Trish today 😉
:) Yes, we decided to do a video recipe book and you will get the first glimpse as a KYD Insider. We're going to start recording in Tahoe. We just need time in one spot. I think the video recipe book will go faster.
Keep Your Daydream - thanks!
Thing! Awesome!
You guys are great! So many not able to live the dream but we get to kinda live it through you on you tube. THANKS.
It's coming! We decided on a video cook book.
Surprised we just found your channel. Excellent stuff and we're doing a marathon of your videos!
So true. That's great! Enjoy your summer trips!
I love watching you guys. We are newbies. We are waiting for our RV to come. We are learning so much from you.
Keep up the greatness and like Mark says “education is not more importener than camping”
My wife and I just bought our second rig, it’s a captiva bunkhouse. Many blessings
~Scott
Loved the "shock" of Trish's hairdo at the end!!! Quite a surprise!!!
Great job! 👍
Just watched a 2nd time. One of the best value packed videos on FT RVing around. So awesome. 👏
Nice. You can stick around 👍
Yeah, my dad had one when I was super little. Great dogs. Our RVing with Dogs video should be up today.
*I guess I could've just said George Foreman/ Toaster Oven.** Anyway happy camping!!!;)
No matter the duration.
Great video. I can't believe you went through and added the times for each topic. Tedious work, great job!
There are such things as "On Demand" propane hot water heaters. Which actually saves propane usage if you want hot water available all the time.
Tankless water heaters are great, but come to think of it, not sure they run off of propane.
(If anything, I think that Trish needs another duty or 2, to make up for Marc having to deal with the "stinky slinky")
Haha, just having a little fun with ya :)
When you're ready to get another dog to join your family, may I suggest adopting a dog from your local shelter (wherever you are). They make fine dogs! And it is as if they KNOW you saved them!
Why shouldn't they know? They can smell the death all around them.
We're getting our 1st rv, a used Pleasure Way Excel next week and we love your videos and Q&A's! Thanks for doing what you guys do!
Those are sweet rigs. Congrats! Enjoy it.
Awesome video!!! Can't wait until next year when we get our rig and full time!!
Great video. We will soon be RV'ing across this beautiful Country and finding your videos in doing my research have been a God send. Thank you
Hey Marc and Tricia!
