IDK I am not picking captains as a single card. i want the boost for my Astros theme team. But same would apply to other good live series squads. Braves and Dodgers with double captains would be terrifying. Then i would use any extras as single players
Mondesi is pretty good and then you add in the Buxton boost and he's gonna be my lead off hitter for a good while
That dansby finest card with Rollins boost was insane and i would also use him on my Braves team so this is great

Gallo looks like a budget Babe Ruth on the Buxton team and his theme team should be better. I wish the Show would make theme teams more viable and let us choose from every team a player has ever played for to use as our theme team,that would open up theme teams so much. I got Dunn and as a Reds fan i would like to get their 3b captain also but i might go with one of the other ones mentioned. Do pitchers count towards a hitting Theme team captain? It looks like they changed the buxton requirement from 13 to 11 batters in your lineup which is much needed to lower these requirements.

I raked with the Dansby world series card in 23, and the Braves theme team might be glitchy once the Buxton boost gets outclassed, so I'm taking him over Mondesi.
i’m using the buxton boost with the braves theme and haven’t double captain boosts. makes austin riley olson and dansby insane
if u use cornerstone buxton as your hitting captain and then whoever the braves pitcher is for your pitching captain
I have the dansby and matzek and the braves team is 🔥
All these cards suck lmao
IMO Swanson is the move because a lot of good cards for the braves now and I can see alot more coming because sds loves the braves lol
How do you get more captains now ? Do we have to wait for more pack releases or something?

Great video my dude! What would make this greater would be if you ranked the top 5 best overall hitter and pitcher captains to choose from. I hit 225k xp last night and literally studied every pitching option.
The top 5 I came up with is this:
1) Bard: His sinker is literally celestial and absolutely heavenly divine. His slider breaks like a Frisbee thrown at 92. Best pick, imo.
2) Seranthony D: 125 H/9 instantly makes him #2 on the list, if not #1 for most ppl. He throws 100, with a Sinker that hits 97 and breaks literally like a Circle Change thrown at 97, lol. He's very good.
3) Taylor Rodgers: Best Lefty choice, imo. Best control on the Slurve I've seen. 95 Sinker break is insane. And 4 out of the 5 Best pitch mix. If the game didn't already have great lefty relievers, I'd rank him #1.
4) Bautista: If Bautista didn't have the same LS version, he'd also be a must buy for me. Only problem is no sinker or cutter. But his slider 99 break is amazing, with 103 mph fastball and carefully mixing in the splitter makes him very good.
5) #5 is preference really. There's maybe 3 more options with their strengths and weaknesses. They are: Joe Kelly, Nen, or Matzek for obvious reasons.
Now, If you are brave enough to go with a SP: there are only 5 options thay could make my #5 rotation slot. But I'd have to Parallel them to 5 b4 jumping into ranked.
1) Sonny Gray: Don't laugh, lol. His H/9 at 93 is good, 98 is better. His Sinker, Slurve, Slider combo with his change are good off balance pitch mix.
2) Darvish: Sinker, Cutter Slider = meta. Can hit 98, but u better Parallel to 5 to raise his h/9 to 83.
3) Taillon: u better have 7 Pirates to boost his h/9 by 5. And Parallel him to 5 b4 jumping into ranked. 88 h/9 is much better than 78.
Anyway, he throws 99 4 seamer, 97 Sinker, with a 89 slider and 87 circle change. Also his Knuckle Curve is a good slow chase pitch.
4) I was gonna throw in Carrasco. But I lit him up when I faced him. Reason for this is hos pitch breaks are great. He also has a Sinker, slider, and change combo where the ball does some magical things. But not when I faced him 😂
5) Eovaldi: I'd never choose him. But for the Bosox fans, he could possibly work as a #5. He throws 100, has a Cutter, Slider, and split combo with a crappy curve u should never throw for a strike. He's interesting bc his break is very good on the cutter, and even 4 seam fb at 88 is very nice.
There's my top pitching captains to get after studying, testing, and researching all the cards.
If you don't mind me asking, what is your top 5 for hitters? I'm stuck between taking Mancini, Dunn, Mondesi, or Swanson. But leaning away from mondesi because I don't use Buxton boost.
@AhJared. I'd take Dunn, 100%. I believe he works with the Arenado boost as well. With the boost, he's insane. Without the boost, he's still insane. Mondesi is good with thr boost, and not as good without the boost. Best thing about him is his swing, speed, and the fact he's a switch hitter.
You pretty much hit it on the head other than Felix, I think it’d be dumb to take him considering he’s the same as the LS

Can someone help clarify!!!! I picked gallo for example but when I put him in the lineup, it seems as if you have to have a bunch of rangers players in your lineup to get the boost. How do these captains work?
Yeah they only boost players from the team they are on he’s just talking about who he thinks would be best player
I finished the Dodgers collection then took Kelly & Joc for the Dodgers boosts. Joc is just ok but the double boosts are insane. have Turner & Beltre on the squad as well👍
Sounds decent, not sure how it’ll age though. Hopefully they add more captain pack in not via the store
So I also have Suarez & Gray for Reds boost. Suarez is great (Bux team) & Sonny is surprisingly good.

You can exchange him for a different captain. Just remove him from all your teams.
you should check out kiermaier, he makes the buxton team, might be next the eugenio as the most underrated in the pack

Only if you did not collect the card you picked first SDS was allowing players to collect them then trade them and then they patched it so if you have not collected the card your good to go but if you accidentally collected him like I did your now screwed with the one you picked if it was not Buxton cause he is so over rated and over powered for the start of the game

I screwed up by taking Maddux as my captain
If you didn't add him to collections you can exchange the cornerstones for a new one
