I know this isn't an option for everyone, but getting a referral through an attorney in another field is helpful. I know someone who has an attorney family member and asked them which plaintiff side employment lawyers they respect. Took one of their recommendations and am happy with that choice thus far.
Just talked to attorneys in Maryland who say no one takes an employment law case on contingency in MD and most charge for consults and case evaluations. 😳
We've been taking some cases in Maryland, and honestly, I have heard some wild stuff from potential clients about their experiences trying to find representation there.
I would rather hire an attorney on a contingency contract. My thinking is that their firm will work harder to get a bigger award, thus they get a bigger cut of the award.
Hi Vincent, I just love your humor and videos. Very insightful. I’m not sure how I ask a question so I’m going to provide the question here. I am currently suing a district for discrimination of a protected class. This case has been ongoing before Covid. My name, my family, myself have been depleted. Anyhow, the defense who’s been lying since day one, filed a motion for limited, at the 11th hour, we switched to a different Judge who knew nothing about the case. Defense use the motion in limey as a motion for disposition. He claimed to say he did not get the amended state complaint so therefore the protected class that I’m suing for was not valid this is untrue and incorrect, and every way possible , the right to Sue that was given to me was on September 25, 2018. I retained an attorney and February 2019 and he got the amended claim for my protected class in by September 25, 2019. He’s trying to use WC at the judge was and he said that it was time bard and therefore we can only sue for the original protected class that I did at the time when I had no clue what I was doing. It’s now an APPEALS, my attorney has done a stellar job and defense is erratic. He is accusing me of being a thief and all these these things that are not true and I really really hope that the appellate court judges rule of my favor so we can reverse and remain recuse the judge and start a new trial. What are your thoughts on this?
I love the channel even if you put farming information on from time to time. Do you have any hobbies you could share once in a while? I am actually coming to the close of my legal journey. I was discriminated against, lied about, insulted, disrespected, assaulted, but I was a janitor. Janitors don't make enough money to matter to an employment attorney. The people on the bottom of our lovely society can just kick rocks. They have no recourse unless they have a million dollar case for some reason, but that reason isn't going to be an employment case. They simply don't make enough to matter. I wasn't always among the dregs, but hard times come for many reasons. Now I can go pro se, or I can go home and let that $hit go. I think I don't really care anymore. My life is better now than it has been in a long time, maybe ever. Maybe it is too small a thing to worry about, but I hate to see evil people getting away with being evil. I'm sorry to the next person that goes through what I did. I wish I could have put an end to it before the next person walks into it.
I can say I know a lot of firms that handle cases worth much less than a million dollars. 7 figure cases are somewhat rare in our field. I am very sorry about what you experienced.
What's the difference in hourly, as compared to a contingency with a substantial deposit? What's the risk for the attorney - they're getting paid no matter what.
Y’all ever heard of vaccinations for animals so the ticks don’t kill off the animals . Your animals need to be vaccinated every year to prevent diseases . Also vaccinations stop ticks from feeding off your animals .
Microphone is A+. Crazy how you go so out of your way to be helpful to us all. You rock!
Vince, keep the farm posts and the “oooooooooon” this channel coming.
I love the farm posts. Heck, you could probably have a separate farm channel and hit 100K!
I love the farm posts, it shows your down to earth side. After hearing about the moose and tick problem, I feel bad for the baby moose.

It personalizes you. Farm post is fine.
I would keep doing the farm stuff, I would just create a separate channel for the farm though.

Post away It makes you more real.
Posit it! 🎉
It's fun to see a different side of your life. I say go for posting farm stuff.
Do you always ask for Attorneys fees at trial? in settlement? When would you not ask for them?

Definitely released by gov’t😂 Appreciate your content and humor.
That ticking was bothering me but it appears you've gotten it taken care of.
Aren't public defenders generally reserved for criminal cases where there's prosecution? That is, there's no public defender for a civil law suit.
Correct
Post farm stuff. It makes us see you as more than just an attorney.

@@JobAttorney do you know any near Atlanta? I only have a few weeks left!
What kind of chickens do you have?
It’s Lyme, Connecticut, not Lyme New Hampshire.
I stand corrected, thank you: medicine.yale.edu/news-article/ancient-history-of-lyme-disease-in-north-america-revealed-with-bacterial-genomes/

probably. there is incentive to swindle clients on hourly pay.
