I also did this tour, and had a great time. I'm not normally a fan of these kind of pre-planned tourist excursions, but I made an exception for this one, and I'm very glad that I did.
I did the exact same evan evans tour on the 25th of may of this year, such a great day and yes a little rushed and yes they left behind tourists on tour for being late back to the bus at Windsor castle... in defence of the tour company it is an 11 hour day from 8:45 am till around 7:30 pm and each bus can contain 53 people in peak season, it is a great day out. I loved Bath the most on this particular tour.
I have this tour booked for june 2018....looking forward to it and I will enjoy it more now that I know there is waiting and you are pressed for time because I will be prepared for those things. Thank you. xoxoxo
Good info! I don't want to feel rushed when I visit so I'm reconsidering a tour. I also was more into the sheep and yellow flowers than the stones in ur video lol.
I took this tour in June 2005. The roman bath was waterproofed with molten lead, which may cause health problems. We arrived late at Stonehenge, after the visitor center was closed, but at that latitude daylight existed after 9 pm. The park ranger was kind enough to let us see the stones, up close, as our tour group were the only ones there. Truly magical to actually touch the stones.
Thanks for the video, i'm trying to decide if I should take this tour or not, and I really enjoyed your video and your voice. Good job, w the commentary, you're lightweight funny.
Hi, what did everyone do for lunch and dinner? I know meals are not included, but did you get to stop and eat? Or did people bring food to eat on the bus?
Thank you. We are also considering this tour or renting a car and doing it ourselves. My husband wants to rent the car, but I'm hesitant. I think an organized tour would be better (and safer ha ha). I also appreciate your honesty about the time constraints. I'm just not sure it's worth using up a whole day and it sounds like a very long day.
Excellent Robert, Interesting to see these places through your perspective. Also an education into the tourism industry. You see the greatest hits but miss so much. I confess I was amused by the thought the Queen has possible plane noise issues, and I'm wondering if Charles 1st was buried with, or without head?
Why nobody saw a strange stone at 9:41, the crust at its bottom has crumbled to real a brown body, a color different from the stone's. It means to me, the stone was built with cement smeared around that brown body, which might be a hollow box or something. It might further mean that all the other stones in the stonehenge were built in the same way. They were not quarried at remote mountains, nor were transported for long distances; they were built right where they have been standing.
Thanks, again, for sharing your well filmed vacation with us. Been to all 50 states yet? Love to see you film the Great Lakes, Superior shoreline will produce "WOW!'S" ;)
Thanks. In view of your so often rushed, comments on the tour, I decided not to travel on a bus tour or groups tours , but to rent a car for a day , and take things at my own pace. I definitely dont like to be rushed when on vacation. Vacation is time to enjoy and relax. !!!
Traveling Robert - was busy thinking about Stonehenge and you went several places. Sorry and I hope you figured that out. The rest of the video was great, too. And no one talks about the lines to see these places and I have wondered about that. So really appreciate the heads up. This was a great video and one of my new favorites. Thanks!
Cheers Heres the link. I got about 400 SH vids I visit Avebury on the way through. Love the whole Wiltshire area it such a hotspot. If you down Port Talbot way give me a shout m8
A nicely presented video ,giving an honest view ,but please remember Britain is full of history from the tip of Scotland to the rocks of lands end in Cornwall, and so before you come to the UK get a good travel book to where you want to go and look up the results on Google Earth
Long queue at windsor castle Not so ancient architecture in transformed Roman baths Rainy and windy weather at stonehenge and, still too much crowded. Thats England for you :D
@@TravelingRobert: Nobody cares about your opinion. If it's not allowed it's not allowed and so show respect but when I next have tea with The Queen I'll mention the fact you think it a stupid rule and are not happy about it then perhaps she'll have the rule changed just for you.
Traveling Robert You are totally WRONG about the baths. The steam is NOT artificial. The water is heated from underneath the earth and derives from volcanic activity a simple wiki search will prove this. If you stop at the entrance just before entering the main bath you will find where the outtake from the fissures that fills the Baths from the under ground aquifers you will also notice a lead pipe (Roman era)coming out of the floor. Also this bath was built in 55 BC. and to this day still does not leak and is the only surviving full functioning roman bath in the world. The sprayers are for stabilizing the ruins that are over 2075 years old keeping it environmentally stable. Stop guessing and spewing S*&T. I grew up in Bath at Larkhall Square near Charlcombe your comments are totally false and WRONG
Last time I checked pipes were artificial. It's all a gimmick so you see steam that would not be naturally occurring if the pipes, little pipes with a nozzle, weren't there. I stand by what I said.

Maybe if you go to Ireland, you can see New Grange. There are a lot of similarities but that ‘building ‘ is still intact. So I hear.

Do you ever plan on visiting South America?
iFail341 Yes I do... don't know when yet, but I'll be there for sure. I'm thinking Perú.
Why doesn't anyone swim in the "bath"? I don't see any restrictions.
But mainly because the untreated water isn’t safe to swallow, or even touch, you can bath in the same - but - treated water at a nearby modern spa
