I hear congas on that drum track; badly-timed ones at that. I'd guess Lennon. The bass definitely sounds like Paul. My guess is that the basic track was PM: harpsichord, RS: drums, JL: congas, and GH: maracas. And then the bass and guitar were overdubs.
John plays typically sloppy bass on the basic track and Paul doubled and covered the bass to bury John’s clams. The reason it sounds reverby is because there’s two basses. Paul also double tracked the guitars
@@Tom-hk6ub Doubtful though since this is George's most major guitar contribution to the whole Pepper album. With most tracks of this era, Paul would add a bass late in the recording process, like one of the final things. It was typically an overdub and not tracked initially.
It's a very rare track where John plays bass on the basic track - and it's pretty crappy - but Paul dubbed another bass on top of it to cover up the clams and to add some typical Macca runs.
Come sempre bravissimo lavoro , cristhofer, grazie 😘
The greatest song ever for driving in the rain.
Such a great song.
I still don't get how you do this.. Really clever..
so cool
I felt the Beach Boys in the backing vocals. It can be seen that he was affected.

It couldn't be Lennon on bass. He could barely play.
It could be George .... he played Bass on Maxwells Silver Hammer ...

@@monovision566 Paul overdubbed the guitars. George possibly played maraccas on the basic track.
