Hey, thanks for showing the layout! I’m planning on going this year for go fest. I heard there was a bit of a traffic jam at first going from the volcano area through the poison swamp down to the athletic field. I also heard they opened up another path during the event to fix the issue. Did you feel like the walking space was crowded? Did it seem like the athletic field was too far away from everything else? It looks like the poison swamp was a bit too long of an area compared to the others but I wasn’t there. It would be better if it was a circular route and not linear. What are your thoughts? How was your experience with moving through the habitats?
Hey, thanks for the comment! I was there Friday morning, and it wasn’t as packed as it got on Saturday or Sunday. They did reroute people on Saturday and Sunday to help control the foot traffic. Yes, the layout was a linear path, but the athletic field is huge, and you could choose between two different paths there. Since I started in the top, once you reached the end, you have to revisit the habitats via back tracking but leave the park but I didn’t find it to be a bad thing. The athletic area had the merch tent and food trucks, so it kind of felt like a natural “ending” to the path. What are your plans for the event this year?

Thanks for the tour around Randall’s. Doesn’t look like there is a lot of seating - something that would be nice to have in the heat of summer….hopefully they will be bringing in loads of Biergarten style table/benches and scatter them around the park like they did at Barcelona - not just under the team tents
Thanks for watching! I'd recommend bringing a picnic blanket just in case. When I was in Vegas for the Tour event there was no extra seating. Maybe it's an American thing lol
How many gyms are there in Randall's Island, hopefully there's a lot cause raiding Rayquaza is the primary purpose of me going there. If there's not a lot, hopefully Niantic can create some temporary gyms for the raids.
So the gyms and pokestops during go fest is different than what is actually there. So yes, there will be temporary gyms there on the island as long as you have a ticket for that day. In my video you’ll see there’s like 2-3 gyms there normally.

There will be no parking at Go Fest NYC. You probably want to park nearby an island entrance and then walk into it.
