13 years after she was burned with boiling oil, Tennessee woman fights to keep attacker behind bars

When Lindsey Arp learned her attacker, who left her with life-changing injuries, would be eligible for parole this month, she made sure she’d be there to testify against him.
Arp was severely burned all over her body when her then-boyfriend, Ryan Haase, doused her with boiling oil while she slept in April 2011. She would lose an ear and vision in one of her eyes. In dozens of reconstructive surgeries that would follow, Arp would nearly lose her life three times.
