Jess looked so bright eyed and cute in this clip. Yes he was rude from the get go, but I really felt there was room for character development for him. He seemed to get ruder the moment he and rory ACTUALLY dated, which is really disappointing
Here's a past comment I wrote on Dean finally sleeping with Rory UA-cam video: "Some people are saying, well, here, he cheated. Well, if that, as much of a superficial poor analysis as it is, is so, then one can say he cheated before getting married at all. Remember when the poor guy Dean was drunk and all he could think of was Rory on the night before his wedding? How much he loves her? How beautiful she is? Why she didn't love him tho he was literally ready to give his life? (yet due to her absolute insensibility, she foolishly falls for bad boys & drops the real diamond). When people get drunk, they say what's truly residing in their hearts, there was a deep wound festering there due to the internal damage instigated by Rory. He married Lindsay as an emotional bandage/coverup to a wound that didn't seem to go away. It was heartbreaking for me to see that. He was trying to move on. He couldn't even believe Rory left. The guy is 19 you guys. The real problem was marriage in the first place, behind which was Rory & the forlorn confusion she caused him. This wasn't an actual commitment to his wife which he'd broken. I think he was emotionally committed to Rory & that he didn't break. She's the one that caused him that much pain, confusion and trauma (she literally was loitering with Yale male friends & she leads him on and so easily lets him go like this? THIS? what a perfect way to express gratitude to a guy who has practically just lost his life for you.). Cheating doesn't start under the covers but in the innermost chambers of the heart & so does commitment." P.S. & yes I'd feel completely troubled if my significant other incessantly told me they couldn't spend ANY time with me tonight (yes, not for one night, which they somehow thought could morph into 10 years of extracurriculars) but then, on that same night, I accidentally see them having dinner with other peers & the same person (in this case Jess) that sneeringly & mischievously harasses me because I am just in a relationship with someone they want (for no justifiable reasons aside from them being an irresponsible playboy that literally shamed Rory in front of her family) & the same person that would get anyone concerned for Rory, not just her boyfriend but anyone that warrants common sense. Don't take scenarios out of context or you'll wind up with false premises & conclusions. btw this one's for the script makers, I find it really contradictory how it was okay for Rory to cheat on Dean with this guy of theirs named Jess but when Dean does a very predicted move (implied at the time he was drunk & thought of Rory) & actually finally makes love with the one he loved most is it okay? like how? how does it work out with Jess (at least for a little while) but not with Dean though Jess' and Rory's relationship was based off of cheating?
