after all these years I´m so glad Metallica picked Rob to fit in for metallica
José Martínez He was the only one who was suitable for the job literally. Look at the audition, all the others contestants didn't fit with the band at all. It would look so weird if either of them were to be selected. I'm glad Trujilo came to that audition.
The simplest for the big sound. Just classical guitars and a bass.
He is Metallica as much as anyone. I believe he saved the band. Just one man’s opinion

Not technically accurate... Gabs is using the body of the guitar as a percussion instrument.

@@gorgewashington1216 Incorrect. A snare drum will have spring tensioners on the bottom of it but it's called a snare DRUM not a snare SPRINGS. She's thumping the guitar body which in the wood itself resonates & produces the sound. The strings have nothing to do with it beyond being attached to the guitar at that point.

I was actually at this show, 25 rows up, left of the sound board. This was an amazing end to and incredible show, Rodrigo y Gabriela
are such showmen, they put on a great concert! Trujillo just capped it off!
I did NOT expect them to tear into my favorite, fast part of Frayed Ends. This is addictive, inspiring, and the way the aggressive Metallica vibe is completely captured by these three instrumentalists, without much distortion, no drums, no vocals, is simply awe-inspiring. Respect.

I saw then do this with Trujillo in Napa, CA, a few years back... absolutely incredible. I was LEGIT headbanging to two acoustic guitars and direct bass. Rocked just as hard the real, fully amplified Metallica. I'll never forget it!
Wow! Now that's powerful! Cried through this full performance myself, and ain't afraid to admit it. A full dedication to Cliff (RIP) We know your with us. Robert your aptitude and generosity shines, believe you are the next real puzzle piece to Metallica's low end, bassman after the loss to Cliff. Die Hard MetaL.

Gabriela stuns as usual but I'm impressed with how well she and Rodrigo held frayed ends of sanity together as tight as they did throughout.

really good. it has shivered me. so tough to play with such a confidence in front of this crowd with an acoustic sound. i've felt that they felt it. very authentic.
Wow! What I wouldn't pay to see these 3 perform together at a small theater.
Red Rocks is better than any small theater unless you are at the very top where the wind can effect the sound. I usually get front row if I can get tickets since they are reserved for people with physical disabilities. Nothing better than seeing a great band front row at Red Rocks. Even if you're in the first 30 rows it's still an excellent venue.
