My 9 years old Lenovo G45 with integrated AMD APU graphics will get another life :D Internet browsing, Chrome extensions, and video calls. That is all I needed.
Thanks. Great video and a great delivery style. It's so good to find a PC expert who delivers excellent technical advice and doesn't shout and 'carry on'.
This worked really well for me the tutorial is really clear I just followed it step by step on my phone. You might want to do a follow up video about fixing keyboard bugs. Some of the keys had changed eg the @ key has moved to upper case 2 I got round it by viewing the keyboard on screen. But really pleased will the result
Thanks for the videos, just gone through a few of them, very informative.! Can you install chrome on an 2008 MacBook? It just about works with El Capitan, but fancy adding a dual boot with crime or Linux for extra functionality. Your thoughts?
Thank you for the video on the idea of switching Chrome OS Flex for PCs that can't handle Windows 11 because of Microsoft's strict requirements which is ridiculous. The video is great and interesting.
My 6 year old samsung galaxy tab pro s is running windows and the battery doesnt last long, it also overheats so hopefully chrome os flex will help with that
NOTE: The Chromebook Recovery Utility says that LINUX IS CURRENTLY UNSUPPORTED, so my PC running Linux cannot follow these steps. I'm going to have to figure out whether it will work on VirtualBox Windows or not. See ya later!
I have an optiplex 755 that I would wanna give a new life to, but it’s only MBR/legacy boot, what do I do? For more context it starts the boot and the chrome OS flex logo appears, but it’s blank for eternity after that
Two quick questions, please? Is Chrome OS as utilitarian as Linux mint would be? And, in terms of speeding up an old laptop, is Chrome more lightweight than Linux, as well as my Win10? Thank you!
Simple question no, chrome os flex is more lightweight than windows but other linux distro is better, flex is easier to use though it is very simplistic and minimalistic in term of usage
It looks like the flash drive was formatted FAT. I have an HP EliteBook 840 G1 laptop, can't install. Is there anything in the BIOS, like legacy or secure boot? Do i have to format the drive? It doesn't even detect the flash drive?.. :/
can we create a seperate partition on the hdd so as we can have the option to boot from chroms os flex or windows (in cases we need softwares that can't be used on the chrome os flex)
thanks bro my gf's e-waste Celeron 2 core laptop will need this, i am also upgrading the 500gb HDD to a 256gb SSD but unfortunately the ram is not upgradeable
Not possible in Switzerland, no computer is compatible with the extension Chrome Recovery Utility, which generates a message telling this computer (as any other I tried, even Cromebooks) is not compatible with Chrome OS... There is not the parameters menu on top right to choose other options, like installing from a locale source... Is this extension hacked?
I got all the way to “try it first” before it asked me to connect to network with no network options. Everytime I tried to turn on the wifi, it kept switching off. What do I do?
I have completed all the steps and It runs very smoothly when i click try but i cant install it in my laptop so i have to always use usb . Is there any solution for this.

when I install Chrome OS flex to the new computer using USB..the computer should be non installed OS?
The creation of the USB drive tog more like 1 hour then the 10 minutes that you mentioned
Creation time can vary depending on the USB drive you are using...
Usb, pc and Internet will affect it. Took less than two minutes for me.
Sounds like daily dose of internet

Google doesn't provide an iso for ChromeOS flex. The only way to get it is from the recovery tool.
